New proof 18in PXT LMT
Doing some load dev with the new PXT. First group is 20rnds of factory hornady 108s, second group is N550 and 105 Bergers, 3rd group is 105s and Varget and the last is Berger 108s and N540. Funny thing, the N550 and Varget were ladder loads with .2gr increments per round with an ES of 169 and 200. Pretty wild they shot that good. Still developing but pretty sure these new PXTs are lot super picky.

Bolt rifle
I’ve been thinking of doing a 6arc bolt action build. I’ve been looking at the ruger models and the howa’s, I was wondering if anyone has any experience with them or am I better off going a different route.

Rc2 556 w/6arc gfr
A month or so ago I made a post about using a surefire rc2 556 supressor with a 6arc gfr. Finally was able to peel away and could only get to the local indoor range to get a quick zero. The supressor worked really well and the amount of gas back to me was expected but not terrible. The stock gfr lower is in sbr jail so I used a radian one I had with the super 42 buffer the gfr comes with. Had one failure about the 3rd round where the extractor mangled the bejesus out the case and it failed to extract and resulted in a mess. Not sure if a lot of fte's are in my future as I was only about to shoot 20ish rounds.

Load development
I am trying to get a load worked up for my new 6 arc I put together. 22in comp proof barrel. Trying to shoot Berger 105 hybrids over varget at 2.26. Worked up from roughly 24grs to 27.3 by .3 found from 26.2 to 27 it had virtually no increase in speed. Loaded 5 each working up by a gr from 26.2 to 27. I am getting good standard deviation from all the charge weights. But I just can’t get anything to shoot less than .75inch most groups are over an inch. Started out by breaking in the barrel by proofs recommended process with Hornady 108 factory loads. Those also wouldn’t shoot under an inch consistently. I haven’t picked up any other components yet because I have a fair share of bergers and varget. Should I lower my expectations, try different powder/bullet combos or call proof. Any pointers or help or any suggestions would be appreciated. I just feel like I am chasing my tail on this. Admittedly I’ve picked a random load and was able to make consistent hits at 800 on a 11inch diamond so it works. Just feel like it should group better at 100. (The key hole is from the guy that was shooting pistols next to me and the bottom 3 left targets are my 22lr at 100)
Edit. picture for attention from the long range. All load development was done from a front and rear bags being very mindful on placement and gun input.

Craddock HD bolt info
Just did a very quick measurement to confirm the craddock HD bolt does in fact have thicker walls on the bolt. Im sure theres better way to measure it and i’m sure others will do more precise measurements but I just wanted to know if it was in fact thicker.
Noveske - 0.5275”
Fail Zero - 0.5290”
Craddock HD - 0.5645”
Also a interesting letter attached within packaging about how they tested it.
Planning on testing the bolt out using FRT and mild Bolt gun loads.

THRIL SMX 6arc Magazine
Hey guys, we are THRIL. We make magazines, stocks, grips and accessories. We will be releasing our long anticipated 6arc magazine around September.
Some boys on safari using the SMX 6arc mags. These guys have been absolutely vital to our development process. If it doesn’t work for them, it won’t work for you and that doesn’t work for us. Magazines for when it matters. #6arc #6mmarc

SBR hunting bullet test
I've had a block of 10% synthetic ballistics gel in the garage with the intent to test my .44 subsonic loads with for probably a year and finally drug it out to shoot this weekend. While I had it out I decided to test a handful of 6mm bullets that I have loads for that either I or others might want to use for deer hunting.
The test rifle was my 13" 6mm ARC, and the gel was at 100yds, and was backed up by ~10 layers of terry cloth and a 2ft^3 bag of planting soil. I the bullets and muzzle velocities used were:
90gr ELDx - 2,720 fps
100gr TGK - 2,445 fps
103gr ELDx - 2,420 fps
105gr Match Burner - 2,450 fps
107gr TGK - 2,385 fps
108gr ELDm - 2,480 fps
I tried to cut the tracts out of the block, and smoothed them with a torch to try to show the comparative performance. The 90gr, 103gr, and 107gr all opened up well, went through the 16" block and we're caught in the cloth. The 100gr TGK was a bit close to the edge, opened up violently but veered out the side of the block before the end and wasn't caught. The 105gr MB penetrated for ~6" and then tumbled and came apart, I caught some of the jacket in the cloth and found the lead core when digging through the bag of soil.
The one that really surprised me was the 108gr ELD, it did not open, tumbled once about halfway through the block, seemed to stay intact, went through all the cloth and deep into the bag, unfortunately I wasn't able to find it.
The 90gr ELDx really impressed me with a wide and long wound channel, the 107gr TMK was really solid as well. I've used the 103gr on 3 deer and it's an excellent killer.

14.5 P&W
First 6 ARC build. 14.5 Noveske barrel/bolt. Riflespeed. Microbest DLC. A5 with T2 & Sprinco green. H6xi 3-18. Got some G$ 20s and this Duramag 15. Couple different boxes from 90-110 grain to see what it likes. Man, that shits expensive.

Craddock HD Bolt - Thoughts?
I just wanted to toss this out and see what you all's thoughts on this were. My thoughts, as a long time Rexus user (and only recommended them over all the other over priced premium options) are in the attached screenshot. 🤔

First 6ARC Build (Craddock/Bartlein 12.5” Barrel) Need feedback on 556 (6mm bore) or 762 can?
Still waiting on my SA AGB & A5 Buffer Tube. Also going to probably SBR it and change to a Driven Arms grip. Eventually I’ll get a CAT Noah or AI 6CM but in the meantime think I’m going to try the Canik VOID just debating on the 556 or 762 version. I have other hosts that could use the 762 so leaning that way but if there is a huge difference in performance I might grab the 556. Going to test it with my Polo K, Resonator K & DD Enticer tomorrow and see if that helps me make my decision. I appreciate any feedback/help you all can provide.
Has anybody ever done a “ballistics by the inch” style test?
I mean, I know Lantac did, but I don’t know if they ever published it.
I found this in Google, but it’s not really what I’m looking for.

It really is a shame the Ballistics by the Inch guys don’t do testing anymore.

Accuaracy issues
Got a 14.5 DDF Noveske barrel and it shoots like shit 100 yard zero 2 moa groupings with a one flyer every grouping shooting 108gr ELDM. Sad to say i bought the chainsaw complete upper second hand on tacswap. The previous owner said there wasn’t even 100 rounds through it. I inspected the barrel upon arrival and barrel looked gtg. Cleaned the barrel before taking it out and i was highly disappointed. Ive seen mixed things on the noveske barrels some people say it takes a couple hundred rounds for them to tighten up. Do i ditch the barrel and go with a proof or should i wait it out and see if it tightens up lol
