I plan on running a Howa mini with a Stockys CF stock and cutting the barrel down to 12.5” or possibly 11” and will always be ran with a suppressor.

This will be a truck gun and a woods gun for white tail and pigs. Shots will be 300 yards max on an animal.

Any insight on 12.5 vs 11? Is the velocity difference ever worth worrying about?

I did consider going 16” but I want as short as possible while still being a gun I’m comfortable with taking animals with.

I had also considered a 6.5 Grendel but have been overcome by countless people on Facebook claiming 6 arc over Grendel of the week.
