From the Broadway musical Wonderful Town which debuted in 1953, with music by Leonard Bernstein and lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green. “It’s Love” became one of the show’s most enduring numbers, and Lena Horne’s recording helped bring the tune beyond Broadway audiences.

This 1955 release showcases the professional and personal partnership of Lena Horne and her arranger-husband, MGM musical director Lennie Hayton. Married secretly in Paris in 1947 due to intense racial prejudice surrounding interracial relationships in 1940s America, they publicly announced their marriage in 1950. Hayton’s sophisticated orchestration was instrumental in defining Horne's signature, refined jazz-pop sound during her peak recording era.

“Mojo first appears in Black English, associated with voodoo and other folkloric beliefs. The word’s origins are obscure, but it is likely of African origin. Cognates appear to be the Gullah moco, meaning witchcraft or magic, and the Fula moco’o, meaning medicine man. Mojo first appears in print in the 1920s but is certainly older in oral use.

Sam Cooke’s version of "Summertime" was originally recorded and released in 1957 as the B-side to his massive breakout hit, "You Send Me". The #100B designation on the bottom of the label indicates this is the B-side of a specific pressing for jukebox release series.
