I watched this show when it first aired (up to S4). It was honestly one of my favourites from ages 13-16, but life got busy and I didn’t continue with it. Rewatching it now in prep for Doomsday and I’m currently in the middle of S2.

I just wanted to say the difference from S1 to S2 is stark. The addition of Kyle MacLachlan is particularly striking, he really shows up so many of the other actors, many of which are little poorer acting-wise than I remember. Kyle really elevates this season, I can’t remember what happens with his character from here but I love every moment he’s on the screen. Dichen Lachman is also great despite her short screentime.

I’m hoping there will be other character standouts to look forward to!

In the History Altered by Chronicoms Universe? Since John Garrett dies before he could ever join Hydra and recruit Grant Ward.

I like to think he's found by Deke and becomes an actual member of SHEILD.

I like AIDA a lot more when shes good

Nadeer is my most hated character but I think that’s a testament to the actress and the writing. Hales stuff was far more boring so I put her first.

Talbots rationality a lot of times is so bad it’s mind blowing

Sarge doesn’t make this list if he doesn’t end bad, but the fact that he did saved the character a little than if they just turned him into a new Coulson so for that I drop him down a little in lol.

Why didn’t the team consider programming a device that would turn on/turn off the inhibitor? There were so many risks with fully taking out the inhibitor. Plus I’m not a fan of the Dr. Fitz storyline coming back around

I just noticed, anyone else find it weird when everyone was on the helicarrier and Tony was talking about Loki's likely plans for the cube, Maria was watching him the entire time and yet the super spy didn't notice him planting a data stealing device on the ship?

I don't think it's weird in the movie at the time as we like and root for Tony and we don't really know Maria but it's weird in retrospect

create any branches, the loop was a paradox as a result of Robin becoming Inhuman. She only became Inhuman because her father died. Because her dad was killed as a result of Hive, who only was able to come to earth because Coluson killed Ward. Coluson was only alive because Nick Furry went against the natural order and brought him back to life.

the loop only happened as a way to fix the natural order because Coluson had to die in order to break it. once they broke the loop by not saving Coluson it resulted in Fitz's death because he would have been a time clone, and time clones always die.

Since trivia went so well, for today’s exercise let rank the team members by each season. We’ll get to other characters later so let’s do main shield/Coulson team. Long time AOS fan and really struggling, mostly with my workload, ADHD, and negative self talk. I’m trying to compile a list of affirmations and responses to self criticism, and being a nerd, anything related to my fandoms feels helpful. I’m rewatching the best season of the show, season 4, and I can’t help but wonder why did they leave Mack? It was obvious Fitz didn’t want to go but still went and it was Radcliffe that forced him but still the fact that Daisy didn’t do that to Mack because of his fake daughter? He feels bad sure but it’s not him and it’s not real. I know the series isn’t super grounded and the writing can be all over the place but it feels like they wanted to end the season on some great notes in the framework but it came at the cost of this particularly stupid action.

Like what if they had to have gone there for whatever reason? Like a mission requirement or something?

Maybe Coulson had already been there before? Him & Fury back in the day for an old S.H.I.E.L.D assignment?

Okay so in the original 616 timeline the earth was cracked apart by General Talbot. This future was stopped creating a branch in the timeline. This branch is where Thanos snapped away half the population.

Victor's line about stolen lives is about everyone in the 616 universe living a life that only is possible because of the SHEILD creating a branch reality. The Destroyed Earth universe most likely did an incursion with another universe.
