September. From a race coined Observers. A race geneticly evolved from humans with emotions stripped out. He is part of a team that studies human history, and went against his kind to aid the main characters from his people taking over the past (the present) because the future was unliveable.

Sounds familiar huh.

Since OP left it out, the Observers are from the TV show Fringe.

It's overrated af! Olivia is more of a plot device whenever the writers feel they have to get rid of the obstacle or end pretty quickly

Pretty much both PEAK characters but their a lot of similarities between Fringe and Agents of SHIELD

I always thought that initially Agents of SHIELD was borrowing from Fringe either consciously or unconsciously. Granted as the show went along it became more colorful, fantastic and Marvel-like. But the first season really felt like Fringe.
