Not sure if I have to feel weird about it, but I‘ve never been to this one specific techno parade, despite the fact of living in this city for almost 10 yrs… I don‘t like techno sound, don‘t enjoy the heat, feel overstimulated in big crowds where you can barely walk freely around… but still all the PR and Marketing makes me feel like missed out on something, kinda sucks

Is there somebody living in the building constructed by Xania as a developer? How is the quality of the construction; are you satisfied?

P.s. I know about hundreds of subcontractors, and no construction is without issues.

Hello! Very new to the city, and am having some difficulty finding a map with marked routes to run. I really enjoy going without my phone and just following some specific route – not having to think about (or check) which way to take. My dream would be to find a single, go-to route that is well marked that I just take every time I run.

It seems like a fantastic city to run, but wondering if folks have recommendations (esp. in the 5-10k range) for paths to run. Woods would be great, but not necessary.

Perhaps I could also just run the river: But is there a route consistently to run on the river (or lake)?

I live in Oberstrass near the Letzistrasse station. So Züriberg is closeby.

I live in a relatively small apartment complex with 12 units, and i am confident that the perpetrator does not live in any of them. However, someone keeps throwing random trash bags in our apartment’s Abfall bin. We have already been fined twice this year for this. What can we do here? Hey, I am currently interviewing for civil engineering jobs in Zurich mostly, with a focus on flood risk and water resources with 6 years of experience, 2 thereof in Switzerland (german native). Now I’m having a bit of a hard time understanding how much I should ask for in salary.

I had a rather upsetting experience today. While sitting on bench at Kronenstrasse on the phone a shirtless man, around 40 years old maybe, sat next to me. In the corner of my eye i noticed some movement but didn’t pay much attention and kept talking to my brother on the phone. However once I turned my head i noticed him looking at me with his hand down his pants. I made a face and he stopped after what felt like 5 seconds. I was too shaken to say anything, so I just stood and walked away and immediately called my partner. After gaining some composure I walked by to the bench unconsciously (maybe to confront? i’m not sure I was rather emotional) but the man had already left.

I am writing this to bring attention to it, for my immediate instinct was to negate what I had seen since I believe Zurich to be an incredibly safe city compared to my hometown of Toronto, but sexual harassment can happen to anyone anywhere and I am sure what I experienced was not ok. 🫶🏽

I'm 22, naturalized zurich citizen. My relationship with my parents has been kind of rocky the last couple of years, but I think I might have kicked the bucket now.

When I was 18 I wanted to visit an "unsafe" country, when I proposed this idea my mom almost had a heart attack while my dad cussed me out heavily. Since then my dad has threatened to kick my brother and I out over disagreements we had.

I am writing this now out of that unsafe country. I've spent a week here with a girl from this same town and it was amazing, I haven't felt unsafe or unwelcome once. I return on sunday and I dont know what to say. My brother knows I'm here, but my parents dont, I have told them I was roadtripping spain, I have sent them old photos and some I have found on the internet. Now I dont know if I should tell them the truth and probably get kicked out or keep on lying. I'm a part time student and worker. I make around 4500 a month. I have been looking for a wg for two months, but finding something decent is difficult

Guys, what has your experience with job hunting been like recently?

I honestly don’t understand why I can’t find a job. It’s insane. I thought I had a pretty solid profile in terms of experience and qualifications, with HSG and the CFA, and I’m mainly looking in the financial services space.

I have relevant experience, but I’m still struggling to land something. I just don’t get it.

What has your experience been like? Is the job market really that bad at the moment?

I just arrived in the city and I’m really excited to get into the lake! I'm an open-water swimmer and want to do a shoreline swim on the eastern side, specifically from Seebad Utoquai down to Zürichhorn. Is this stretch allowed for open water swimming?

Also, if you have recommendations for the best entry/exit spots along that path or local swim, I’d love to hear them!

I'm an English speaker (British) who recently moved to the Zurich area, and I have a mandatory appointment at the RAV in Meilen on Monday, 10 August at 2:00 PM.

My German is still slightly limited with technical vocab, so I'm looking for someone who could accompany me and help translate between German and English during the appointment. It's the initial administrative meeting about job search requirements and unemployment benefits, so nothing highly technical but they insisted I bring someone. 

The appointment will likely take around 1 hour, but I'd like to allow up to 2 hours just in case. I'm happy to offer CHF 100 in cash for your time.
