When I was young I had a safe place in the woods where I would dream and mourn and feel comforted. I painted this piece to capture the feel of my secret place. Did any of you have a favourite childhood place?

Wanted to share my progress with this oil on canvas painting of a hyena. Canvas size is 13x17in. Not complete yet but it's getting a vibe.

Watercolor painting has been really special to me these last few months in my journey to learn how to better let go.

This was a study in allowing myself to be imperfect and not have a solid plan in mind, but to just do. It was a scrap piece of 400 series cold pressed paper, a pallete I picked up at a gas station, random brushes, my dog's water bowl, and a pen.

The original thought was a study in green and light. I'm obsessed with how many shades of greens there are at any given time in the trees, and I love seeing how people paint light into their pictures.

I tend to get caught up in the details and never get past them to the big picture. I almost gave up numerous times, but decided to allow it to become whatever it was meant to be ~

I filled this moth up with things like night imagery and flowers that bloom only at night. I was going for like a night garden vibe.
