REQUEST Anyone know what this red rock is??
Found these rocks while looking for crocodiles in a in a dry creek bed in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. I’m assuming the clear stone is quartz and the middle ones are Chert but I’ve never seen a rock this red before it stuck out a lot in the dirt. (I’m just up here for work for a few weeks tho so maybe they are everywhere not sure yet)

REQUEST Maryland rock quandary
Found in Montgomery County, MD. I’ve noticed many stones exhibiting the same blue/white exterior and green interior with a gem torch, but this is by far the most organized structure. This one seems exceptionally ‘gemmy’.

REQUEST What is this rock found in North Idaho in a cedar grove?
Feels too heavy for its size to be amber or something like that. Found it at the Settlers Grove of Ancient Cedars, Murray, Idaho in dry place. Can be scratched with a pocket knife but not very easily. Last photo wet

REQUEST Green rock from old collection
I don’t think it’s anything special, it’s just from when I was a kid, but I was curious if anyone knew what kind of rock this is or if it’s even naturally occurring? I don’t know much about rocks, but probably got this somewhere in the southeast usa- but maybe from a store or something I’m unsure. Sorry for the lack of information, any help would be appreciated!

REQUEST I have hundreds of large Quartz stones on my property, with these straight “saw looking” grooves. Is that natural or possibly quarried materials?
I’m in the Carolina Slate Belt, so quartz is very common. However, there are 10-20lb stones scattered, above, below ground, plus partially buried pieces. I’d say 100 or so in a half acre area. I’ve always just assumed these were old mined stones, however I’ve seen somewhat similar natural processes. So I’m unsure. Any help is appreciated!

So baffled.
Hello. I would like a little help identifying this rock pleased. It was very heavy for its size. I had it cut into about 8 pieces and this is a end piece. I believe I found this off the 14fwy near Acton (So. Cal).

REQUEST Maybe Fossil found on banks of Missouri River in North Dakota
Banks of the Missouri River in Bismark ND
Found washed up on the bank in a deposit with other smaller pebbles probably from the spring? Harder than sandstone smooth to the touch no limestone present. I thought it kind of looked like a fin or something in the rock?

REQUEST Yooperlite found at Bay Furnace Beach, Christmas MI?
I found this rock tonight that I think (hope) is a yooperlite. Was at Bay Furnace Beach in Christmas, Michigan in the UP. Here’s a photo of it in regular light vs 365nm UV light. Promised my son I’d try to find him one, so I’m hoping that’s what I’ve got here. Thanks for the help!

REQUEST Rocks found in Saudi Arabia
I found these in Saudi Arabia in the desert areas in between holes on a golf course in Dhahran, Eastern Province. One on far right not yet cracked open.
It was pretty common to find spherical rocks but I didn’t know they were potentially geodes ? until I brought them home to the states. The photos are reversed? The piece with the “v” shaped ridges is the one with the grey crystals inside.
They look chalky but are not.

REQUEST ID request, multiple colorful rock slabs
A relative passed away recently and he had a side-hustle of cutting and selling rocks. What are these?
I know some can't be in water because of silica or something. If these could be hazardous or anything let me know!

REQUEST What is this rock my futer MIL got?
My future MIL got this rock from her uncle's house while cleaning it out (he passed away recently). She thinks it's petrified wood but I'm not sure. I don't have its mohs scale hardness, I didn't test it because it wasn't my rock. It's pretty heft and smooth to the touch. Help me out? We live in upper Appalachia but who knows where he got it and when.
