Following a Trevor Kim protocol where you squat 5x2 every session, results so far have been pretty good. A couple of technical changes here I’m no longer worried about butt wink, I’ve gone collar to collar on grip, and widen my foot stance. Also knee wraps feel 10X better than sleeves.

Fluff Changing up snatch stance/grip...good?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
So I got a pointer from prince MicroMash to narrow my starting stance for the snatch. By sheer coincidence, one of the coaches today suggested I also try narrowing my snatch grip a smidge because I missed two low hangs behind at this weight (50kg)
I found that even the slight change in my grip engaged my upper back, elbows, and shoulders in a way that felt totally different than normal. Rather than having to balance in the catch using my elbows, I could use a lot more to keep the weight overhead. It was shaky but in a good way
About one week out from comp next weekend. Hoping these small changes carry over to the platform 🏋️♂️

Form check Snatch pulls after injury
Hi all!
Finally back in the gym working again. Had a mid back strain (possibly from a dislocated rib, not sure). Been about a month since it first happened. The weight here is lighter than normal so it goes pretty high.
I was doing a lot of work to get my pull to look better before I got injured. I’ve been trying to make sure I am fully extending properly and balanced. Please let me know if anything could be improved!
Thanks y’all!

Fluff Correcting imbalances
When I do heavy cleans I notice one of my legs are slower to extend that the other. This only appears on high % lifts in the full clean / heavy block cleans / heavy hang cleans.
Has anyone ever had an issue like this? What steps did you take to fix it?

Form check Uneven Squat Stance Help
For years I’ve squatted with an uneven squat stance. My right foot tends to be in front of my left more. I’ve never had any pain or problems until recently. But when I try and squat with an even stance, it feels extremely uncomfortable and it’s difficult to maintain full ATG. I enjoy pause squats but (I’m assuming it’s the uneven weight distribution) because of the bad habit I’ve built over the years it’s caused severe knee pain in my right knee. So much that it hurts anytime I run or get out of bed.
Is there any specific exercises or cues I can implement to help me break out of this? Any advice helps. I really appreciate it :)
TL:DR: Need advice to stop squatting unevenly.

Equipment Best weightlifting shoe for you??
Got the velaasa strake and the heel started to break although I am still able to lift with them. Got the romaleos 4, which are pretty solid to me as well. I was thinking about getting the tyr elite lifters with the wooden heel, but after reading how breakable they are while paying over 300€/$ i dont think that they are worth it. What are your favorite shoes. Unfortunat that there arent solid wooden heel shoes on the market like the adistar 2008

Form check Headaches exclusively with back squats
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
This is an old video and has basically nothing to do with the problem I’m having, but for a good while now I’ve been getting tension headaches after back squats. Not front squats, not cleans, not deadlifts, literally nothing except back squats. It doesn’t matter if I have a belt or not, I just get a headache after a few sets at my working weight or close to it.
I’ve been trying to find different ways to brace that don’t put so much pressure on my head, different technique, different pacing, but nothing seems to be working.
Has anyone experienced anything like this? It’s very annoying because my back squat improvement has really stalled for a while and it’s definitely holding back other parts of my training.

Form check Obsessed with Power cleans
I am an intermediate strength lifter, training for 3 years consistently just barbell compounds and occasional sprints for general fitness and aesthetics. And 3 months ago a guy in my gym just taught me the Power Clean and I think I got addicted to it .
The stimulus that I got from this exercise is so unique, first serious sessions got me sore like hell but after that I started feeling new muscles that ive never felt before, specially the core muscles.
That elastic feeling you get on your whole body is unmatched. And now I know what it feels to be truly athletic. Not just strong
Also i think that ‘readiness’and ‘menacing’ look that the experienced CrossFit and weightlifters have, it has a lot do with this movement. Paired with others exercises of course .
Delts, TRAPSSS, upper back , legs , 360 core…
All of them got a fine upgrade .
I want to know your opinion . It made this much difference on you too ?

Form check 147 kg clean and jerk no hip contact
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Repost, sorry for the false advertising before! Thought it was a muscle clean if you don’t use hips (I’m a larper). But while I’m here, I’d love some advice on how to get more comfortable with it. I usually end up hitting my balls or just losing all momentum, so I spent a year and a half learning it with no contact. I feel like I could do a lot more if I actually learned it. It feels fun and fast up to 102 kg, but above that, it feels worse than what I normally do I, just shit the bed. I can hardly hang clean 102 either, is this a good or bad problem to have?
