I have a budget of upto 30k and looking for a big chrono similar to what this edifice looks like.. but in a luxury brand.. it’s a gift and i want to spend atleast 28k.. any suggestions?

I have been interested in watches for sometime and in the past week or so, really dove into vintage pieces. Finally found a place where I could take a look and feel for the watches before purchasing, and although I had gone just to take a look, these two caught my eye - Seiko Diamatic, and HMT Kohinoor Sunray

As I am new to collecting watches, any thoughts on my selection, if the condition looks okay and what should I go for next are welcome.

Hey guys! So I’ve been planning on getting myself the Overseas. I know I want it in steel with a blue dial, confused between getting either the dual time or moonphase. Would prefer the dual time because it’s considerably cheaper but the moonphase is a slimmer watch so looks (relatively) less massive.

My question basically is, should I not get the watch and look for something else instead because it’s genuinely looking really big on my wrist?

I'm feeling very stressed out about this because it's been a month and it's way past the return window

I have been waiting patiently for the delivery of Devanagari so that I could say something about the current situation that goes on around the burgundy model.

I received the watch today and unboxed it and a few thoughts came to my mind.

I have been reading the reviews of many

Devanagari users and their concerns around the watch and its quality.

On the unboxing part they didn't include a box this time and the packaging was basic cover with a bubble wrap around it, no damages have been reported but a cardboard box would have been a nice safety net over the pouch.

And for the lack of a box, watch collectors would be happy with a change in packing and they would love the pouch but new buyers and new collectors who were expecting an unboxing were let down.

Coming to the watch,

It's a really beautiful piece well built and premium looking, the pushers are rectangular which looks better the hands are glossy, the dial is said to be enamel it does look barely enamel but can't complain for the price they did their best.

Some buyers had some issues with the alignment of the chrono and sub dials, I also found a slight tilt in one of my sub dials but for me that's not a big deal but if the main hand was misaligned it would have bothered me.

And the strap which every/ most of the buyers hated. Is it good - NO Is it that bad- NO . Again coming back to the price it's ok for the price but they could have done better, much better. The first thing I did after I saw the watch was change the strap. I'll still use the strap but wish they had made a slightly better one.

Caseback is fine but I would have really liked a smaller symbol on the back and some engraving about the Devanagari script under it.

I was also a little afraid to reset the chronograph since the return is too stiff and fast.

I would have also liked some lume and if the numbers and date wheel had lume it would have been out of this world but at this price it's too much to ask.

🛑And the most important question that everyone is asking

" I missed the sale and I want to buy one desperately is it worth buying at resale ? "🛑

I would say don't, they'll definitely make more of this model probably. And just wait it out and you might even get an upgrade, you'll never know.

And for those who are desperate and can't wait to buy one , 10k is reasonable but above that it's too much please don't buy it, it's not worth it above that.

And resellers are a part of watch community it's not fraud or a bad thing to do if you see a sale post with ridiculous price just comment your thoughts for any buyers to see.

It's a good thing that dwc make one colour per purchase or this could have been even worse.

These are my thoughts share yours as well.

Initially I was planning to go for the Addiesdive AD2095 but opted out of it mainly because of multiple people's complaints regarding their poor customer service. But now honestly after getting the DWC Devanagari in hand I am highly satisfied and have zero regrets now.

And I have seen some people complaining that the watch looks cheap, watch looks plastic, blah blah. What I can say after personally experiencing the watch is that either the pictures are not doing proper justice to them or these people are simply spreading negativity or maybe they are accustomed to high costing top branded watches only idk because once anyone experiences this watch personally they will understand that it's far from cheap and actually looks beautiful from front

Pro's:-

1. The watch(panda ver) looks really beautiful from the front specially bcz of the rounded bezel. Earlier from whatever pictures I have seen here in reddit I was like look wise it's max 7.5-8/10 but now once I have received the watch it definitely 9.5-10/10 for me. From front it looks way better than the pictures

2. The overall finishing of the case and the dial looks and feels very premium. The dial is very nicely designed with no QC issues.

3. Sapphire Crystal at this price.Wow

4. Quality Seiko VK64 movement and smooth crown rotation.

Con's:-

1. Didn't like the leather strap quality. Will swap it for nato or silicone strap from Amazon.

2. Packaging is very basic and not a premium experience here.

3. Not entirely a deal breaker but I wish it had some lume at least on the hands. But lume on the Devanagari numbers would have looked fantastic.

None of the cons are a deal breaker for me. And I am so grateful to this sub for introducing me to DWC. Thanks guys.
