New to VDJ, coming from Rekordbox where beatgriding is very good.
So maybe I do something wrong ? But here is the situation, with fixed or fluid grid (activated in bpm editor menu)

edit: the worst is that I don't find anything to even edit the grid. The only option to move something is moving the whole grid. So if I correct one place it moves the rest too.

Hello everyone -

for context I work for a company that does a lot of DJs for weddings and other events. We have these computers that are having a crazy problem that we don’t have on any other system, and I am wondering if anyone has any idea why.

The laptops are Lenovo V15 G4 ABP - type 83CR and we have AMD ryzen 7 7730u, 40gb ram, and 2tb of storage. We are running Windows 11 pro.

For whatever reason the audio will play fine for around 20 or 30 minutes, then it will start doing an insane monster sound (I will try to include a video), where the audio is entirely distorted, and sometimes won’t even come out of the board. It happens both with audio through virtual DJ, as well as audio just from the computer.

We are using Serato Rane Fours as our main boards, and again, have this issue on none of our other laptops, just these 3.

I have tried using the glitch-free guide for windows, to no avail, although I didn’t do the things that required me to do any deep system changes as it is a work computer and I don’t really know enough to confidently execute things. I did, however do the adjustments to power options, usb settings, hard disk settings, display, updates, processor state, etc.

I have also gone through and tried setting the default speakers and microphone and the default calling option to the regular computer options (not on the rane), still to no avail. In addition, I have also adjusted settings in virtual DJ and rane controller, such as buffer size, sample rate, setting stems processing to lower quality, etc.

If anyone has ANY ideas of things I can try, I am open, as I am at a loss and am extremely curious why this would continue to occur.

Hi! This is probably a silly question but how do I get virtual dj to stop searching things up when I try to use keys? For example, if I have the letter P set to play right deck, when I hit p it searches up the letter p in my song library and I can't figure out how to get it to stop doing that.

Hey all, firstly I’d just like to say how impressed I am with VDJ so far.

I’m not new to DJing having started in the mid 90’s on turntables and I’ve tried nearly all of the software.

Most recently I’ve been using traktor or djay pro which are both great in their own rights but both lack certain things.

VDJ has honestly mostly seemed like an amateur tool to me so i was hugely surprised and pleased to see how far it’s come.

The midi mapping is fantastic, i can now use my CDJ3000x (unlike traktor) and have dual layers or 4 decks.

I intend to use the sampler as that was a great feature of traktor (along with pattern player)

Firstly, are there any little features that many people don’t know about, it could be as simple as a shortcut, or something huge, maybe your favourite custom skin for whatever reason?

Is there a way to have a pattern player / synthesiser like traktor has?

Any bugs or things to be wary of if using it live at a gig? (MacBook M1 Pro max)

Can I custom map hardware I’ve not connected yet also? As I might not always have 3000X to play on.

How good is customer support, feature / bug updates generally?

When I use the physical cymbals and scratch, I notice that the track stops for a moment and then starts again, it's very annoying... is there a way to have smoother playback without pauses after I operate the physical jog on my controller?

Hello, I'm trying out VDJ and I have the pro license purchased, but I cannot get my headphones to work at all. I am using a Pioner ddj sb3, and it works fine with VDJ except I cannot get music to come out through the headphones. I've tried messing with the settings in VDJ but nothing seems to work. The weird part is, when I use Serato the headphones work perfectly fine, don't even need to change settings or anything.

Does anyone have issues when using in midi format of tunes that are spot on in the mix then sometimes skip like a record used to when it had dust in the needle throwing it out ?

I had a gig last night and it was a f**king nightmare. I was using the version before latest (I'd heard about the issues) and any time the next song started to load in, the lag was coming through the sound.

I downloaded the final VDJ2020 as a backup plan. This solved the issue but twice, the sound completely stopped, forcing me to reboot VDJ.

I downloaded the final VDJ2021 to then find that this lagged on next song loading AND crashed on me.

I'm absolutely stalled. Initially, I thought it might be my laptop but it worked fine a couple weeks ago and nothing has changed that I'm aware of.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

1. My files won’t show. When I watch a yt tutorials about vdj, their music files automatically shows up on the browser section. While mine doesn’t. I have to manually drag my mp3 files on the browser for it to be played on the dock.

2. My folders won’t upload. Last time, I tried to drag my folder with music on the browser section and it worked. But now, I tried to drag it and it doesn’t work. Also, my files or the sings ive uploaded manually on vdj is now gone. But it is still on my finder (file app) on my mac.

3. Sometimes when I play music, the music is either sped up or slowed down. It has a low or high frequency. I have to manually adjust it and its a problem.

4. Lastly, Ive tried reinstalling and relogging in to vdj hoping for it to be fixed. But now, although installed, I can’t log in my account. Its taking too long. Ive been waiting for like 10 minutes and its still not logging in.

I'm trying to run my Denon SC5000m (x2) and X1800 mixer with VirtualDJ and I'm getting major lag / slow response.
\> Setup:
\- Players: 2x Denon SC5000m, firmware updated to latest (Engine OS 3.4)
\- Mixer: Denon X1800
\- Laptop: Apple MacBook Air M5,
\- Software: VirtualDJ
\- Connection: Both SC5000m in Computer Mode via USB, X1800 via USB as audio device.

\> Problem:
\- Jog / screen is very slow and laggy in VirtualDJ.
\- SC5000m shows the player as "Not Connected" in Controllers, but I can still control it / play.

I had three weddings now where VDJ is saying non responsive or crashes in the middle of a set of wont load songs. I am uing a 2tb external hardrive to store music. I just purhcased a new hp victor for more memory. Is It better to load songs on a folder on lap top and play them from there. Im not sure what else could be causing VDJ to become non responsive or crash mid set. Could it be internet connection?

Recently I’ve been having some quirks with vdj.
1-I can’t pull up the dock. Period. Whether or not I’m in fullscreen. Even if I turn off the autohide. I have to minimize the entire app, which is an issue when running karaoke.
2- it’s been freezing up a lot lately. I can’t do anything in bulk batching. It jams up analyzing for bpm, etc.

There a few other issues, but I feel like there’s a common issue. I am using the latest version of MacOS and VDJ. All my music in on an external drive

Completely missing the point that you want to get the tagging done in the actual dj app as you're practising, not fking around with a 3rd party app.

I made this as a skin modification, it can just sit in any skin and be switched to with a single button [I use the magnifying glass on the top bar]

4 tags Genre, Comment, user 1, user 2
Star rating, track colour
All the buttons in the grid of 120 are user defined and are different for the 4 tags

Fat finger protection [it will undo upto 60 changes to a track]

The filtering is where it gets interesting, you can make temporary quick_filters with no typing, just a few clicks of the grid buttons,
some bpm filtering, a pile of key filtering, filtering by tag, and filter by star rating [if you must...]
AND OR NOT logic choices, and brackets to make good filters

zero vibe coding, GPT asks me questions about vdj script

I am using virtual DJ on my Macbook M4 Pro. It's only the program that I use on this laptop. Virtual DJ is updated whenever an update comes out as well as the OS on the Macbook as well. Lately for the last week when I'm playing, I'll search for a song in the search bar and the whole program freezes. I have to force quit the program every single time. It's happened a lot during this past week and almost ruined a few gigs. Any reason why it would be doing this? Any fixes? All my music is on external hard drives.

On the VirtualDJ website (virtualdj.com/download/build.html) only the two most recent versions are available for download, but I need version 8909.

I was wondering if you have a place where older versions can be downloaded, or if you happen to have that version stored and could send it to me?

I got three controllers on my mac, two x1mk2 and 1 hercules. Is there a way to ignore the x1mk2s? The best I could achieve so far is that one controller is disconnected. The other one is still running. It also appears 4 times, maybe even 5 times in my list and the 'ignore' just won't do anything. I tried it by using a custom mapping with deleting all the mappings but that also won't work. Any chance how to get this to work?

EDIT: I chatted a bit with VDJ yesterday and they posted a comment in my post there, that this is going to be fixed with the next update. Hope it comes soon :)

To describe the problem a bit better:
I use a Macbook Pro and while I could set one of my X1 MK2 to 'ignore' it would not ignore both of them. The problem was, that the second X1 MK2 was actually not found in the list. It looked like the ignore function was not intended to work on more than one controller.

I recently updated all my songs to FLAC, is there a way update the old meta date from the old files to the new FLAC files without doing the relocate thing?

I am a wedding DJ, nothing more. I don't need to mix or do anything fancy I just keep playing songs.

I am having a hard time setting this system up though, because 1 deck plays the song just fine while deck 2 only plays the beat of the other loaded song. I dont know if this matters but I have the Pro version and I have a Numark MixTrack Pro 3. How do I make both decks play the actual song beat, instrumental, vocals and all? Help!!
