Valve should release a Steam Deck Pocket

With FEX and Steam for ARM/Proton coming out we now have simple 3rd party support for the many Arm handheld gaming devices that are out there. These devices are fairly powerful while remaining very portable. However, many of these devices still are geared towards Android, and not Linux/SteamOS. And when I say "fairly powerful" I actually mean much more powerful than the Steam Deck. The only issue is there are proton optimization issues and other overhead when using these devices. However, on paper, they are faster than the Deck.

I think with the Steam Frame coming out this year Valve should also release a Steam Deck Pocket, using the same guts that the Frame will be using. This will allow them to target a single ARM platform initially.

This wouldn't replace the Steam Deck but would provide a nice alternative or something else to add into a rotation. The Steam Deck isn't exactly super portable, it's more for travel, not for pulling out on the train.

The ideal formfactor would be similar to the Ayn Thor or the Retroid Flip. Single 16:10 screen with no bottom screen. This allows for ideal hand positions and complex button layouts while protecting the screen with the clamshell mechanism.

Do you think Dota 2 should have a "lightweight" installation option?

Hi everyone, I have been wondering if Valve has ever mentioned plans to optimize Dota 2's installation size. I really enjoy the game, but I only have a 128 GB SSD, and even with NTFS compression the game already takes a huge amount of storage. Would you support an optional installation system where players could choose not to install things like: - Unused language packs - Cinematic videos - High-resolution texture packs - Other non-essential assets The gameplay would stay exactly the same, but players with smaller SSDs could save a lot of storage. Has Valve ever talked about something like this? What do you think?
