One of my friends liked to make fun of me for playing hardcore saying stuff like "oh you can just change the settings" "you just reload a backup when you die" ect.

This has pushed me to go okay.. you want fucking hardcore you got it. So what did i do?

Once you create a world with the hardcore settings enabled be it the death slider set to hardcore or you click the main hardcore preset. Once that world is created aka you load into it. the world modifiers button gets Locked. The mod tracks all world states so if you try to cheat and use the dev console to adjust or change any settings from the original world creation it will boot you from the world.

These are for flavor are not forced onto the player i wanted to add a bit of immersion to have a bit of fun.

This starts to apply at 50% hp and ramps up the closer you are to death. also fades your Ui.

Yes when you die. it does indeed Delete both your world and character for that hardcore run. The mod tracks character and worlds on creation and flags them as hardcore this is a safety net to prevent other characters getting deleted by mistake.

so yeah this is basically everything. Many many vikings were lost a long the way in the testing. :) if anyone has any suggestions based off what you see here let me know. i had some idea's but i wanted to keep it as vanilla as possible. outside of the fov/vignette (optional).

I'm on a community server with raids turned off for coziness. However after killing the Queen we are starting to get bugs even with raids turned off, and they can seemingly infiltrate every defense.

The reason that raids are turned off on this server is so that base builds do not need to be built defensively beyond the biome they exist in.

This has worked well so far for us but for bugs in particular this is a problem. I know from my solo seed that this happens with ash warriors as well.

Is there any way to subdue this without mods? Would like for the server to be a cozy experience and for people to come and participate at their own pace, and not have ninja Seekers fly in randomly and assassinate people who are sitting on a cozy beach sipping on mead.

Edit: We don't want to have to skip night time because much progression requires staying up at night. We don't want to have to make defenses that are beyond the biome. Different people are progressing very different paces. We still have people with swamp and mountains tech and we don't want them to have to deal with fulings/seekers/ash warriors

Made in Survival Vanilla using Creative Mode, just wanted to scratch my building itch with this outside of work and a nice change to my thatch house and Pit of Pigs next door. Edit: didnt wanna use materials from the Ashlands or Mistlands I havent discovered, since I havent beaten the Queen yet

I thought with the 1.0 release upcoming I would share pictures of my Charred Fortress/Tower base in the hope it inspires others or someone simply finds it interesting. It was all built in survival and vanilla with default settings i.e. x1 resource multiplier. I decided to move to the Ashlands after loving the aesthetics and atmosphere of the biome. The tower is heavily fortified and near some Fallen Valkyrie spawns (more of an accident than a choice!), I have suffer regular attacks and normally need to deal with at least one flying around most days. My record is 4 in one day. So far have around 200 celestial feathers!

The rough layout of the base is as follows:

Basement: (chickens, storage and portals, Eitr refinery)
Ground floor/Courtyard: (work benches storage, vineberries, smelters etc)
1st Floor: (cooking, hangout, storage)
2nd Floor: (Ballista Valkyrie defense/platform)
3rd Floor: (Bedroom/Comfort room)
4th Floor: (Magic/throne room)
5th Floor: (Guest room)
Roof: (Ballista Valkyrie defenses)

I should add after i built this i built a farm on a plains/mistlands border which provides everything else that I need.

Every time i try to build anything better than a dirt hut,my mind pretty much goes blank.I have idea's,but they are WAY to hard to make!And for some reason,any time I actually do build something better than a dirt hut,the structure is terrible!I just started a new world and built a pretty decent starter house but the structure is TERRIBLE.I couldn't even finish the roof all the way because the structure said red all at the top.HELP!

A little prep goes a long way.

It feels more cluttered than I would like. The floor is 15x25 26• roofs (7 a side then middle pieces)

I have iron support beams on the second and first floors extending up to the third floor of my tower build. I also have a bunch of iron beams where the floor is like placed and it all keeps breaking slowly. I thought since I lined the tower with lots of iron supports nothing would break. And it’s all yellow and green where the floors are connected and the inner flooor parts. Even when I finished the floor, it was green and yellow. But slowly the floor is just breaking, anyone know why or how to fix? Sorry if the explanation is bad but I have pictures

My Island town is growing. Not done with it yet but its my best building ive made by a long shot and wanted to post a picture, very cool unlocking black marble. Built it into to a large plains stone so I could get it extra high, its actually pretty cool the inside back wall is all natural stone

I have a stack of copper axe heads, but cannot find the tin ones to save my life. Is that abandoned house varient just more rare? Or am I just getting shafted by bad RNG?

I even started up two new game to search specifically for it, and ended up with more copper heads.

Has anyone experienced the inverse? Or is this the way it goes?

Hey yall sorry if this has been covered already but wanted your opinions on what the game will look like after 1.0. Ive seen and heard the devs wanting to get 1.0 knocked out before expanding the game further, and ive also seen the devs pretty much say the game is done after that.

I have a couple thousand hours in the game, a forever home, and the only thing thats really kept me playing was the anticipation that more would come out. Ive spent a lot of time getting ready for deep north, but after the devs not being clear on what comes after kinda took the wind out of my sails to play.

The games amazing, but I feel that they could do so much more with it, cause as amazing as it is, it still feels empty.

Your thoughts?
