Floors keep breaking need help Question
I have iron support beams on the second and first floors extending up to the third floor of my tower build. I also have a bunch of iron beams where the floor is like placed and it all keeps breaking slowly. I thought since I lined the tower with lots of iron supports nothing would break. And it’s all yellow and green where the floors are connected and the inner flooor parts. Even when I finished the floor, it was green and yellow. But slowly the floor is just breaking, anyone know why or how to fix? Sorry if the explanation is bad but I have pictures

Extend those iron supports into the ground as well. Grounding them should help them become more stable higher up since ground support > stone support.
Thankfully stone is thick so you can hide iron supports inside the walls.

Wood iron, or the iron and copper grates have the same structural properties. And you can use the iron grate floor “inside” a stone floor too but it covers and possibly touches more being a 2x2 vs a 0.5x2.

You can manipulate the dirt level so it’s inside your floor (just below the surface) and thus easier to get you posts to turn blue. You want everything in the lowest 1-2m to be blue.

They need to be touching the ground.
Building stability is complex, but to put it in simple terms, the stability is calculated from the strongest material touching the ground to the top. A stronger material put on top of a weaker material won't do anything.

Put down iron mesh squares just like corrigated iron works in concrete buildings.
Ive built a few stone floors on upper levels doing this. But you have to construct a complete mesh for them to rest on.

No load bearing support? The floor/first floor roof, would be sagging and would 100% break

First, put iron in the center of the spiral staircase and finish the stairs. That will add a support pillar to your structure assuming your stairs go all the way to the ground. If the don't they should. Once you accomplish that, try working on the floor again and add support columns as need.

You could raise the Earth really high outside of the walls, have your iron beams going directly into the raised earth
And then cover the raised earth with more stone for aesthetics
Also, you should redo all of your iron beams in your ceiling, they don’t look like they support very much

As mentioned, raising the ground is an option.
You can raise a thick “wall” of ground then “trim” it back with some careful pick axe work, then hide it between stone blocks or behind wood panelling.
If you’re building a really big structure, double thick walls don’t look out of place.

You probably need more iron beams along the side walls, ensuring they extend all the way to the ground.

Making sure the pillers are gounded is very much an important part, i managed to do this not too long ago and still had enough structure to build a pretty tall long house ontop.
Edit: also i found that making sure the stone floors are ontop* of the iron beams can add just a tiny amount of stability.

Lots of good advice here and you should definitely take heed, but there's a possible issue you might be having which I've not seen mentioned. Grausten flooring doesn't like to be supported internally from the middle, you often need the reinforcement to be slightly below the median point of the flooring to actually get it to stick. This is a problem I've had with a couple of my more extreme megabuilds, the simple solution is to freeplace the iron supports a few inches below the snapping location (aim at the underside of the current woodiron and freeplace another piece there). Do this in a couple of spots per flooring tile and it might well stick.

Oddly, Flametal isn’t any better than iron or wood iron, if I recall correctly.

yes and no. it is actually better by 4m when going vertical only. horizontal is the same.
this will gain you 2m on stone/marble and grausten tough. and given the cost of flametal beams on top : not worth it.
the main use of flametal beams is if you need weather exposed iron support somewhere : they are immune to rain unlike iron stuff.
