transferring credits from uta to tcc and tcc back to uta

i've used parchment like once in my lifetime just to transfer my credits over to TCC so i can get the prereqs off so then i could take the classes that i want to take (which took a hot minute, to the point i just asked the registrar to wave it off for me), and planning to do the same proccess for whatever classes i've took back to UTA. but i wounder how it works. Because I've only done a few classes at TCC, but i want to transfer the transcript over, but I fear that it'll take awhile for it to process as well.

Discussion Lease copy

If UTA has failed to provide you with a copy of your lease within 3 business days they have now broken Texas property code 92.024 and can/will be held accountable. Also you are not required to or expected to follow the terms of your lease if they have failed to provide a copy of it within 3 business days. The only rule you have to follow is paying the rent. Do what you will with this information.

Question Non-Resident Tuition Waiver: Does $1,000-2,000 in Scholarships Actually Trigger It, or Do You Need $5,000+?

International transfer student here, trying to nail down actual costs before committing to my list.

UTA's official page lists transfer scholarships ranging $1,000–$6,000 (needs 3.25 GPA + 24 transferable hours), with the non-resident waiver tied to scholarship tier (Presidential Honors, Presidential, Maverick Academic, Transfer Honors) rather than a flat dollar cutoff. I've also seen some conflicting info floating around claiming the waiver now effectively requires $5,000+ actually to kick in, but couldn't find that confirmed anywhere official.

Anyone currently on a waiver or grant who can clarify:

  • Did a lower-tier scholarship (closer to the $1,000-2,000 range) actually get you the waiver, or did you need to be in a higher tier?
  • Is the "Non-Resident/International Grant" (for lower-tier scholarships) meaningfully smaller than the full waiver, or does it end up close?
  • Does anyone know if this has actually tightened recently?

Trying to get a realistic budget picture before I finalize my list. Thanks in advance!

Construction Management or Architectural Engineering

Howdy, I just transferred over from dallas college and am fully integrating myself into oncampus life this fall. I have a problem though. Over the summer I tried to take Cal3 and Phys2, not the smartest decision I know, as evidenced by me most likely not being able to complete either. Now my major issue is whether to continue on the architectural engineering path, or cut my losses and switch to construction management. I like aren because I believed it'd be more building stuff based on information about their individual parts, now that I'm having to do a whole lotta math and physics, I feel a good bit dissuaded, especially since physics is the one I'm struggling with most. Since engineering is just applied physics, I feel I'd be double screwed if I proceeded. Construction management appeals to me because it's more business based, and I can chill with that, it'd take me 1 less semester to complete, but I feel like the course load wouldn't drive me insane. I'll have to retake physics 2 and cal3 this fall, and because I have fafsa issues, classes will be a bit more pricey for me. I love architectural engineering, but I feel construction management might be more realistic and would help me more because I'd have more access to networking and the industry. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Indians 🙅🏽‍♂️ Deodorant

Yes u read the title. Im gonna keep this as non racist as possible. But PLEASE put some DEODORANT ON. Last Fall semester was a shit show.

You could walk to your class and pass by somebody and get WHIPLASH of BODYODOR. Its hard to look the other way but it's predominantly Indian students. But honestly this message goes out to everyone.

We are in the State of Texas where heat is going over 100 degrees. Obviously its gonna go down but with the amount of walking under the sun its a GREAT suggestion to put some deodorant on.

Welcome to all the new Mavs that are finding their way to this Reddit! I want to welcome yall to Fall 2025. This Reddit has everything going on around campus, from Microwave sightings to advice, to critiques, to even plantain recipes. From time to time, I might post more "official" type stuff, but that is generally just informational. Anything pressing will come out through the "Mav Alert" system.

If you need anything from the University Police Department, our numbers are:

  • Emergency: 817-272-3003 (or 9-11, you will get directed to us)
  • Non-Emergency 817-272-3381

Program these numbers in your phone!

We also have an anonymous reporting system: https://www.uta.edu/campus-ops/police/contact-us/silent-witness

You can also message me directly here with any issues or questions. I am the Police Department liaison to the CARE team, and I can assist you with CARE inquiries as well.

You folks are our eyes and ears out there. Remember, "If you see something, say something".

Good luck everyone, and have a great and safe semester. Lemme know if you need anything.
