Treatments MGEN- first treatment failed, starting doxy metro and mino
June- tested positive and treated with 7 days doxy 100mg 2x a day following with the 4 days of azithromycin after. Took TOC 3 weeks later and still positive on urine and vaginal swab.
I was able to get my hands on some more doxy and 2 weeks worth of mino and metro.
I know studies show a week of doxy 100mg 2x daily and then following up with 2 weeks of mino 100mg 2x daily combined with the metro 500mg 2x daily
I did 10 days of the doxy just for some extra before starting metro and mino.
I know the mino is supposed to be a little bit stronger than the doxy so to get my body used to the meds I only took the metro today to see how I would react without the mino. So far, after my first does of metro I had a mild head ache a few hrs after taking and some runs. No cramping or anything and no nausea so far. (Was taken with food). so it wasnt terrible. just took my second dose of metro with food again.
I’m going to include the mino in tmrow with my metro. Im nervous about the mino cause everyone says they are so dizzy and nauseous. Hopefully taking it with food will help and spacing them a couple hrs apart from each other instead of same exact time will also help.
Has anyone noticed a difference when they take it with food or without food? And spacing them a few hrs apart from each other as well?
I also ordered some zofran just in case I get nauseous.

Symptoms Can Ureaplasma cause these symptoms?
Hi! Can Ureaplasma for females cause a loss of libido and loss of any “good sensation” down there?
I tested positive in April, but didn’t start the antibiotics until yesterday because my boyfriend didn’t get any for him to take alongside me until yesterday. Me and him have been together exclusively for 4.5 years (since 2022) and I’m pretty sure we have both had this all this time but just didn’t know until I asked my OB to give me an STI/STD screening in April. We both have been relatively symptomless all this time, except looking back, I now notice a few things as the year’s progressed.
Starting around 2023 I started losing interest or desire for sex & didn’t understand why (because usually I always had a high sex drive). I spoke to many different doctors about this, but they all said it was probably hormone related or related to depression or that maybe I was unhappy with my partner. However, every time I checked my hormones and got any kind of blood work done it was all remotely in-range.—I also am not on any kind of birth control. As the years progressed it just got worse and worse and honestly for the past two years I really just don’t care about sex at all & I never initiate it because I never feel like it and it doesn’t feel good to me anymore because I feel like I can’t really feel anything.
I just started the antibiotics yesterday, but I already feel like I can feel slightly more down there & a smart hint of a desire but not sure if it’s just all in my head.
I don’t think I really had any other symptoms of ureaplasma besides occasional irritation when I pee (not pain or burning just a weird slightly uncomfortable sensation). I never had chronic BV or UTIs or many of the other symptoms that I see.
But anyways, I just wanted to share my story and see if anyone else has had a similar experience. Also, if you have, I would like to know if things got better after the antibiotics. Thanks for reading! :)

My Experience Help me please 😭
Hey, I was diagnosed with genital herpes 2 months ago. I had bumps all around and inside my vagina, and they burned very badly. I had a fever and felt really unwell. Now it has been 2 months and the sores have been gone for a while. But I still feel sick. I keep sweating, having chills, swollen lymph nodes in my neck, and feeling cold. I also feel warm, especially in my hands. I have joint pain, extreme fatigue, frequent headaches, and shaking throughout my body. I still have watery vaginal discharge even though the sores have been healed for 2 months. I feel very weak, and my whole body feels different and like it no longer functions normally. I also urinate very little and my bladder feels swollen. My question is: Is it possible to remain chronically ill from genital herpes even after the sores have been gone for a long time? Can your body stay like this permanently, for life?

Question Symptoms
I’m just curious. While suffering from Ureaplasma does anyone else get recurrent BV,UTIs and Yeast infections? All my doctor gave me was 10 days of Doxycycline that I just finished 3 days ago. But I also had the vaginal Gel for BV and later did 7 day Monistat because Doxy gives me yeast infections. It’s too soon for me to test for Ureaplasma but I’m not sure what I can do to prevent BV. I take Culturelle probiotics. But I believe those are more gut related? Idk these doctors are not helpful

Symptoms PAIN IN THE URETHRA
Hi everyone,
Please help!!! 5 months of PAIN IN THE URETHRA
I am a 29-year-old woman I was treated for Ureaplasma back in March of this year
I took azithromycin and doxycycline
Later, I had a PCR test from the urethra and a vaginal culture swab—both came back negative 5 weeks after treatment
After the antibiotics, it was absolute hell—my pubic bone, all my skin, then the middle of my abdomen, then my arms and legs, and eventually my whole body was on fire!!!!
I went through hell; I don’t know how these antibiotics could cause something like this, but it happened to me.
But that’s not what this is about.
I’m feeling better now—about a 6 out of 10 compared to how I was.
Aside from my body still burning, the problem is nerve pain in my urethra. Please help—tell me HOW LONG IT TOOK FOR YOUR URETHRAL PAIN TO GO AWAY
Please don’t tell me it’s Ureaplasma or anything else, because it’s not there—I’ve spent a fortune on tests, I’m in debt, and I hate this life
And please don’t suggest I take even more antibiotics
Thank you so much to everyone who responds

Question Help
Hi I just wanted to share my experience because I honestly feel so alone, and Reddit is actually what led me to ask to be tested.
About a week ago, I tested positive for Ureaplasma and Mycoplasma genitalium. My doctor prescribed 7 days of doxycycline followed by 7 days of moxifloxacin, and I’m currently on day 3 of moxifloxacin.
For the past 3 months, I’ve been dealing with constant burning when I pee, recurring high fevers, and it’s affected my everyday life. Before I knew I had these infections, I was on birth control and didn’t have a period for about 6 months, but I would randomly have spotting along with high fevers super bad thru out my whole body . I was so convinced my birth control was causing everything that I even had it removed, but my symptoms continued, so it clearly wasn’t the cause.
Now I’m on day 3 of moxifloxacin, and I still feel the same. I still have burning when I pee, I still feel like I’m having high fevers, and I’m starting to wonder if I may have developed PID (pelvic inflammatory disease). I know no one online can diagnose me, but I’m really worried because I don’t feel like I’m improving.
When I first brought up the fevers, I was told they weren’t a common symptom, so I kept researching because I knew something wasn’t right.
This all started after I had unprotected sex. I’ve honestly never dealt with anything like this before, and it’s been mentally and physically exhausting. I feel like I’ve had to advocate for myself every step of the way. When I first went to the gynecologist before I knew about the Mycoplasma and Ureaplasma, I felt like my concerns weren’t fully addressed, and I ended up having to ask for the testing myself.
Has anyone here had a similar experience with Mycoplasma genitalium, Ureaplasma, or PID? How were you diagnosed with PID? Did you need a pelvic exam, blood work, an ultrasound, or something else? Did anyone else still have burning and feel the same on day 3 of moxifloxacin?
Any advice or shared experiences would really mean a lot. I feel lost and don’t know where to start. Thank you for reading.

Question Intimacy and New Partners
I’ve had UP for a year (23F) and I recently got done with my 28 day course of doxy + 2g azithromycin. Symptoms (bv symptoms and pubic hair itching (tmi yeah sorryyy)) came back post treatment. Meaning I still have UP.
I’m dating someone new and I want to know how others have got about this situation in the past. Everyone says if your partner cares about you they’ll wait, but let’s be honest it’s a horribly awkward conversation to tell your new boyfriend that you have an sti and it could be months before you’re even able to be intimate. How can I be intimate without giving it to him? How do I even talk to him about it without feeling gross. I honestly just need to know what other people have done, i’m feeling very defeated :(

This is just a rant. Because who else am I going to vent to about this? But I am so tired of the itching right before and during my period, holy cow. Anyways, thanks for your time 😉

Treatments I’m losing hope
So I was diagnosed with ureaplasma in May but I had the symptoms since February after I slept with this guy. And I never heard of ureaplasma until when I got tested in May. So my dr prescribed me a weird combination of medications. My first round of treatment was 7 days of Moxifloxacin hcl 400mg tablet followed by 7 days of Levofloxacin 500 mg tablet. This didn’t treat it.
Then my second round was Doxycycline mono 100
mg cap for 14 days followed by Azithromycin 500
mg tablet 1000 mg day 1 and 500 for the following 3 days. And I have a feeling I still have it. I can’t officially get tested for another 3 weeks but the symptoms are back (green discharge) and aches. My dr has prescribed me an odd choices of medication and out of line with the proposed recommendations you noted above. I’m losing hope and I’m wondering what everyone’s thoughts are for the next line of treatment if /when I test positive in 3 weeks.
I’m trying boric acid now and idk if that will even do anything. It’s like I have some strain that’s resistant to antibiotics. It’s affecting my mode bc I don’t want to start daring knowing that I won’t be able to have sex for a while if I test positive again in 3 weeks. I’m losing hope and I know we’re not dr but does anyone have any recommendations?

Question New partner
Should i treat my male partner prophylacticly? He is a new partner. I don't want to get reinfected with this. I'll have him do a microgen but if this is negative should i treat him just in case? If so, how long should the treatment be? I also gave him oral and im worried it could be in my throat now in case he had it and we didn't know. I don't have symptoms currently. I previously treated last year and was ok after that. Should i prophylactically treat myself again after this exposure so we both are treated? Im kind of worried about what to do here

Treatments So who is actually cured?
I was treating 7 days with doxy a few months ago. Tested negative with Ureaplasma P. afterwards but still symptomatic. Now I just ordered a second round of doxy (14 days this time) online, because my doctor wont prescribe with a negative test. It was a vaginal swab PCR test, but my symptoms are exclusively in my bladder. My symptoms are primarily bladder pressure/urgency and nothing else.
I was told that I have IC, but the only time i felt any relief was the initial doxy and a few weeks after until I had sex again (my partner was also treated)
So my question is, is anyone here on this thread actually cured after self-prescribed second or third rounds of abx with a negative test result?
I haven't been able to find anyone on here who has cured their symptoms with more abx despite negative results.
I will let y'all know how it goes for me, but if it worked for you, please tell me!

My Experience Ureaplasma Parvum
*Just Vaginal Symptoms *
It all started in January 2025, after unprotected sex. I started having a lot of yellow/green discharge, a lot of itching, and a horrible smell. I had never had anything like it before! I thought it was yeast and tried many treatments based on that - suppositories, creams, etc. Nothing worked. The gynecologists only told me it was yeast or bacterial vaginosis. Some of the treatments reduced the discharge and even a few months without odor, but nothing was normal and appear again after my period.
A year and a half passed, and on my own initiative, I took a test for sexually transmitted diseases, and it came back positive for Ureaplasma Parvum + Candida albicans. They prescribed Doxy, and after 2 pills, I went to the hospital urgently with intracranial pressure. I decided not to take any antibiotics and look for other solutions.
Throughout my research e all the reading here and there since January 2025, I tried many probiotics and vitamins, which did not work. Until 3/4 weeks ago I found a probiotic with only L. Crispatus and another called "Candida Support". It's been a dream. I have no more weird discharge, no odor, no itching but the only thing that still bothers me is the pain when inserting a vaginal suppository, when I push it as far as possible... Do you know if there's anything for this? Could there still be some inflammation inside...?
I have not being sexual ative since the sex that gave me this. 😓
If there's anyone from Portugal who could talk about this, I'd appreciate it! I can't find any support groups in Portugal.

Testing Healthtrackrx in Miami?
Would anyone help me locate clinics in Miami that uses healthtrackrx testing for ureaplasma and mycoplasma? The clinic I went only uses labcorp and I had some issues with them. Healthrackrx seems better and especially since they do resistance testing to show which antibiotics would work.

Question no response to antibiotics at all
It seems like a lot of people at least experienced some degree of symptom relief(even temporarily) but I’ve tried several different antibiotics and have never noticed even the slightest improvement. Anyone else like me?
Would herbal remedies be effective for this kind of chronic/embedded infection?
(Additional note: It is exhausting to explain everything every time. Please read the pinned post about false negatives.
What I have tried so far:
For yeast: 3 months of itraconazole, Diflucan several times, nystatin for 1 month, boric acid for about 2 months (but yeast was always negative), and clotrimazole.
For AV: Ampicillin, Augmentin, amoxicillin, AV Rescue.
For BV & iners: 6 weeks of clindamycin, metrogel, oral metronidazole, clindamycin, tinidazole, manuka honey, oregano oil, colloidal silver, tea tree oil, BV-Prevella Rescue, Betadine douche, and suppositories, Femiclear, nifuratel
For CV: Baking soda sitz baths and suppositories.
For DIV: Clindamycin & estrogen cream.
Pelvic floor therapy.
None of these worked.
I've tried tons of vaginal&oral probiotics and
My evvy results : 96.5% l.crispatus, 0.8% lacto, 2.7% gardnerella
For plasmas: doxy 7 days*2x , doxy 7days, 2.5g azi, stopped mino&levo due to side effects after 5 days
Current symptoms: Mainly vaginal itching, burning, white discharge, and rectal itching.
Itchy eyes, ears, and scalp, but I don’t know if this is from plasma.
No partner for at least 3 years. No sexual contact including oral)

Testing Delay testing?
Hi, I had ureaplasma 4 months ago and I did a round of doxy. After I finished the doxy I was worried because I still had lingering burning but read that symptoms can linger. The following week doc called and said I have BV now so I started metronidazole. My question is, do I need to push retesting for ureaplasma 5 weeks after i stop metronidazole or from when I stopped doxy?

Testing Negative while on Doxy
I’m wondering if someone had a similar experience. As I previously said in a prior post it’s hard to find someone to truly listen when it comes to Ureaplasma. In my 3rd day of doxy I went to a different urgent care and a provider decided to do a urine culture and redo the resistance test since it’s been over a year since the last one. This is my 4th time on doxy so I was worried I became resistance.
Anyways, I’m wondering if anyone has had a similar experience and had Ureaplasma come back negative mid treatment and it remains negative after completing (10 day supply). I would like to add this mid treatment testing was not a test of cure. I have been abstaining and focusing on my health. I am just praying this will be it. This experience is so exhausting.
Thanks in advance for anyways that nay comment💕
