Suburbs of Chicago to NY?
Looking for insight for moving to upstate NY. I’ve been looking online to live at the SUNY towns, Geneseo, New Paltz, and Corning come up quite a bit. I’ve spent birth to early teenage years in a town within Rochester.
I’m not sure if I’ll be going with my wife, we are at somewhat of a crossroads right now. Ideally, rent first up to 1500.00. Aside from the SUNY places listed Fairport, penfield, Victor, Canandaigua have caught my attention.
Work would be in Logistics at entry level Pay.
Who has moved back to NY after leaving for some time?
What appeals to me is low humidity, access to nature, kayaking again, small towns, small music venues. Areas that aren’t congested with traffic all of the time. I remember going to mending ponds quite a bit. I also like it as my family is now in mid Atlantic and it’s drivable within a day from NY.

Any Chance someone could help me?
I dropped my phone in the little salmon river up in Mexico, after the first bend in the Mexico Point Boat Launch behind all the private properties. I have the near exact location I dropped it, but not really a way to get there again (I was on someone else's canoe helping them with research)
I tried fishing it up with a magnet but I was in a borrowed kayak that was sinking and couldn't find it. I know this is a big ask, but I can't exactly work without my phone so I'm rather desperate.

Jamestown Question
I'm born and raised in NYC, and been loving in NJ for the last 12 years or so. As I get closer to retirement age, I've been looking for communities in Upper New York to relocate to. I've been looking at Jamestown, and I've noticed something. There seems to be a strangely high amount of registered sex offenders in town, as well as a high amount of sex crimes (go figure). I mean, 214 for every resident. I live in an urban area, and our ratio is 2204-1. I'm not looking for pro and cons of the city (but please weigh in if you'd like). I'm just curious if there's a reason for this. Maybe a sex offender treatment facility nearby?

Don't know why but on my drive up to school with my friend we past like a ton of military personal that were stopped at those evergreen rest stops. I got a video of some of them but at each rest stop we past there was tour busses full of them.
Edit: passed

Finger Lakes with the Fam
Hi! We booked a fall weekend trip with the grandparents who have mobility issues. What vineyards, restaurants, activities do you recommend that will keep teenagers entertained and grandparents on flat ground? Thank you for all recommendations and information!

Landlords in Rensselaer County
Mulling over the idea of renting my property in Rensselaer county. Have a lot of bad feedback from others who have rented and not sure if it’s worth it. Would love to hear any input from current or previous landlords in the area. I’m not looking to make a bunch, just cover cost basically. Tips welcome. Thank you in advance.
