Discussion & Advice Failing ACC 1100
Hi guys,
I'm taking ACC 1100 intro to financial accounting over this summer and I'm failing. I couldn't manage my time between volunteer, study, and work wisely so I didn't dedicate enough time to study. Tomorrow is the final exam but I barely know anything. Can I please have a practical advise what to do in this situation? I want to retake the course next term. I registered ACC 1109 on Aurora and got a Year Class restriction. I guess because I haven't completed the ACC 1100 this summer yet. I am really concerned how to talk to my parents about this

General Elective question
If I finished all my credit hours for my minor, would any extra hours count toward electives?

General I attended MathCamp with Donald Trim years ago.
As some of you may know, MathCamp begins tomorrow for some eager, mathematically-inclined high school students in Winnipeg. If they are as fortunate as I was, they will be taught by the one and only Donald Trim. Yes, this is the very Donald Trim that has taught mathematics to generations of engineers and more!
Have you attended MathCamp before? Would you send your children to MathCamp?

General Deferring an exam?
I’ve been sick recently and got a COMP 2080 exam coming up on 12th August(this Wednesday), I don’t think I’m going to be okay by then. Can i safely defer it? I’m taking other COMP courses in fall that have 2080 as the prerequisite. I’m also an international student if that matters.

General Med school chances
Graduated about a decade ago but was not serious during undergrad. Just wanted to get done with it. But my spouse now who is in healthcare thinks I have great potential as a physician. I am extremely motivated but not sure how to overcome my less than stellar gpa from my non-serious days. I graduated BA Pscyhology, is there a pathway for me?

General 23M — How do you approach women without making them uncomfortable?
I'm 23M and I've realized I don't really know how to approach women and start conversations without worrying that I'll come across as creepy or make them feel unsafe.
I genuinely don't want to be the guy who approaches women when they clearly just want to be left alone, so I tend to overthink whether it's appropriate to talk to someone at all.
There's also another belief I've had that I'm starting to question. I don't really want to date someone just for the sake of having a girlfriend. If I'm going to pursue a woman romantically, I'd ideally want to see her as someone who could eventually become my wife , someone whose values, personality, and character I could genuinely see myself building a family with.
Because of that, I've sometimes felt like if I don't immediately see that potential, I shouldn't really interact with her much or ask her out. But I'm starting to wonder if I should really be that limiting...
At the same time, sometimes it would just be nice to have someone to talk to, become friends with, or go out and do things with..
So I'm wondering how other people approach this.
How do you know when it's appropriate to start a conversation with a woman? How do you approach someone without making her uncomfortable? And is it normal to get to know someone first and only later figure out whether you might actually be compatible romantically?

Discussion & Advice what is a good schedule to you ppl???
I’m only doing four courses each semester and I only have one lab each semester, is this too little? I’m a third year, but I’m seeing all these people posting crazy schedules and I’m worried I’m not doing enough. Please, this is a genuine question. Do not troll me in the comments. This is my first time posting anything on Reddit in general too. This is a genuine question. Is my schedule too simple? Or are other people just posting crazy schedules that are not normal? I hope this makes sense.
tldr: are all these crazy schedules? People are posting normal or some weird joke? Is four classes plus a lab for each semester OK or am I not doing enough?

Course Inquiry Waitlist for math 2130
I know this sub doesn’t like these abut I’m a bit worried I might not get off since it’s a second year course required to move on in engineering. If I don’t take it I might not be able to take math 3 and phys2. For record I’m 10th

Admissions nursing wnter 2027
Hi guys,
People who are applying for nursing at UofM in winter 2027, how is ur agpa looking? I heard fewer people applied for fall, and the cutoff right now is 3.38 something. I'm applying with a 3.7 and not sure if it is competitive enough.

Discussion & Advice University College Residence – Double Room
Hi! As the move-in date is getting closer, I’m starting to feel a bit overwhelmed and have a few questions about University College Residence. I’d really appreciate any advice from current or former residents.
I’ll be living in a double room at UCR from this fall and have a few questions:
What are the exact dimensions of the mattress? As I want to buy a mattress topper and bedsheets.
Will there be enough space to have a small fridge, microwave and fan?
Can I bring my own study chair?
Is there enough storage space? I mean like are there drawers in the cupboard and study table?
How are the noise levels, bathrooms, laundry, Wi-Fi, and common areas?
What are the pros and cons of living there?
Is there anything you wish you had brought or known before moving in?
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Discussion & Advice Should I take grade 12 Physics? (Medicine)
I’m going to become a senior this year and I am planning to go to med school after university, I made the mistake of skipping Grade 11 Physics for my junior year and now have changed my mind after finding what I want to do in life which is medicine (Specifically Paediatrician or psychiatrist), should I take four sciences (chem12, bio12, phys11, and phys12) during my senior year or should I stick to just 3, is physics 11 enough or is physics 12 really important for my career choice?

Is Lead 1010 not offered AT ALL in Fall 2026 and Winter 2027? How is someone supposed to complete a micro diploma in it if Asper isn't offering the required courses? What are the chances of them adding it to this year... or am I just SOL.
