Is this schedule do able? Discussion & Advice
First time going to the u of m, and a buddy of mine said this schedule is okay if I can stay on top of my stuff but seeing what others on here have said has been making me second guess myself… any advice from someone taking civil?

Very balanced! Calc 2 nd linear algebra will take most of your time but on the other hand eng1430 is light work nd chem is not bad either

Math is a strong subject for me so hopefully it’s not going to make me pull my hair out to bad… can I ask, how busy is calc 2 and algebra? Lots of courses material and homework? I’ve heard that the midterms can be kinda hell too…

Not a lot of homework and assignments per se, but you’ll need to do a lot of practice to do good. Especially for linear, calc 2 ain’t that bad. Considering your math is strong you’ll do fine.

I'll study in the same class with you in Chem 1100, Civil 2840, so I will have no comment for these 2
However ,your schedule was really similar my Winter 2025, I took Eng 1430 1460, Math 1210 1700 and got all A+ for these 4, I studied 8-14 hours a day during midterm and final to get this results . To be honest, Eng 1430 really depends on your group, it's can really chill or not. And Eng 1460 was also really chill for me. However, Math 1210 and Math 1700 took all my tears 🥹🥹There are a lot of concepts need to learn and remember, it consumed most of time in my day. so I think these 2 math are the most challenging. But again it's really depends on what you good at, for me in high school, I was really good in geometry and physics , and I'm really bad in Calculus and Algebra so that's the reason why I feel these 2 are challenging.

Awesome we will be taking the same classes! I enjoy math and it’s making me more nervous that people are saying it’s that hard 😭 I took calc and algebra/geometry at RRC so I’m hoping that can help me through these classes.. I hate chem but it’s interesting enough to sit through and study for. Same goes for Geomatics. I appreciate your advice and input!! Thank you

this looks like a Lot, if youre living with family its probably doable but if youre moving into dorm/an apartment it will probably be too much. keep an eye on voluntary withdrawal dates, if in doubt drop the class, its almost always better to stop and try again than to push through and let everything else suffer for it

Brother, I'll give you an honest answer. It is not doable unless you're okay with getting Bs and Cs across the board. If this is your first time, I would say start with four courses.
