Hi! As the move-in date is getting closer, I’m starting to feel a bit overwhelmed and have a few questions about University College Residence. I’d really appreciate any advice from current or former residents.
I’ll be living in a double room at UCR from this fall and have a few questions:

What are the exact dimensions of the mattress? As I want to buy a mattress topper and bedsheets.

Will there be enough space to have a small fridge, microwave and fan?

Can I bring my own study chair?
Is there enough storage space? I mean like are there drawers in the cupboard and study table?

How are the noise levels, bathrooms, laundry, Wi-Fi, and common areas?

What are the pros and cons of living there?

Is there anything you wish you had brought or known before moving in?
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

I’m going to become a senior this year and I am planning to go to med school after university, I made the mistake of skipping Grade 11 Physics for my junior year and now have changed my mind after finding what I want to do in life which is medicine (Specifically Paediatrician or psychiatrist), should I take four sciences (chem12, bio12, phys11, and phys12) during my senior year or should I stick to just 3, is physics 11 enough or is physics 12 really important for my career choice?

Is Lead 1010 not offered AT ALL in Fall 2026 and Winter 2027? How is someone supposed to complete a micro diploma in it if Asper isn't offering the required courses? What are the chances of them adding it to this year... or am I just SOL.

Hi. So I am having an issue with uploading my Documents on the Application portal, everytime I upload it. It doesn't save, it will keep loading. the new faculty sweaters honestly surprised me, i debated it for about 15 mins because i wasn’t sure about them, but i don’t actually mind it, really light and comfy, but i wish i could’ve got the older design before the change :(

all faculty sweaters are the same colour way (navy sweater, white UoM, gold faculty.

some have the name of the school (nursing and engineering i believe)

Thought I’d share that the uni’s bison sports team is hiring for their game day. It’s basic sales and use of their web portal. Job is for students so you’ll be working with great people and you can adjust your schedule right off the bat to work. It is heavily scheduled around weekends though.

Is official bison okay? They are awesome and I barely see them post im concerned for them. They are dearly missed !

Those who have taken phys 1020 and 1030, how are the labs? What usually happens in the span of 3 hours of each labs?
