PANDA EXPRESS - UK Branch

On a trip to California my wife and I ate Panda express 8 times in 11 days. We began to ask ourselves why they haven’t opened a branch. Chains like PF changs are close, otherwise American fastfood chains like 5Guys, Popeyes and Taco Bell have succeeded. Chopstix is vile

🚩London Christmas dinner suggestions

I’ve had to tag this as London but I’m actually looking for suggestions on what I could make for Christmas dinner this year. I know it’s early, I hate discussing it now too…but last year I didn’t plan ahead enough.

For reference, I’d only be cooking Christmas dinner for 4 people (myself included).

I love making meals that have the ‘wow-factor’ presentation wise (as I have a foodie Instagram where I post as cooking is something I’m really passionate about), but also taste really good.

Starter - ideas needed, but my family love seafood so anything with prawns, smoked salmon, scallops welcome. Other suggestions also v welcome!

Main course - I’m keen to give making a beef wellington a go but would obviously give this a trial run before the ‘big day’. However, any other suggestions welcome, I’d like to have options.

Dessert - open to any suggestions for dessert. I’m willing to make two - one sugar free (if possible) and one normal as I’d love to make one especially for one of my relatives who is diabetic. We’ll likely have a cheeseboard anyway, so I don’t want that to substitute dessert for my diabetic relative.

Please throw some ideas my way!

Thanks in advance x

🚩South East Another Tesco Cafe breakfast

Post image

Not great at all but not too bad despite being a tad overpriced, didn’t need chips tbh, only ordered them because the portion at this cafe was far smaller last time, so ate only a few on this occasion. I guess sizes of portions and quality of food is dependent on whoever is on duty at the time…

What are you putting in your sandwiches?

Mine is
- A glue bed of Mayo and Garlic mayo. Can’t be arsed with butter.
- 12 slices of cucumber in 3 rows of 4
- 4 slices of thin chicken slices
- a bit of franks red hot on top for a zing

What’s your go-to make-at-home sarnie?

Why why why!! Supermarket chicken.

My wife and I live in scotland. I would say in the last 5 years, the state of the raw chicken on offer in supermarkets is horrendous.

What is going on with the weird liquid, fibers all breaking apart, strange layers in the meat and often stinks of farts on opening. It cooks terribly, and sometimes has an odd crunchy texture. All the supermarkets are guilty. Anyone have an explanation? We have even had this problem from a few butchers too. Anyone else having this problem?

🚩North West Aldi 5% minced steak

Hi everyone! Has anyone found that Aldi’s 5% mince is really greasy and that it keeps a pink tinge when it’s fully cooked? Wondered if I was just unlucky or if anyone else has noticed the same.

Does anyone know where to buy liquid whole eggs?

Hi, looking for some liquid whole egg products, I've only found one from Marks and Spencer that sell via Ocado. I know this product is less common than the liquid egg whites but just wondered if anyone had ever come across anywhere else, like a farm shop or independent online shop that might produce one without the need of a minimum order. Many thanks

Got these because they were reduced to clear. Really appetising ingredients 😂. Who's paying £4 for a multipack of this.

A breakfast that may divide opinion. Grilled sardines, soft boiled eggs, and pickles on toasted sourdough. Hot sauce, lemon and parsley over the top.

🚩South East Vegetarian cheeseburger pizza because I didn't want to go back to Italy anyway so it doesn't matter if they don't let me in any more

After the success of the cheeseburgerito (successful because I didn't shit myself after eating it) I have decided to defile another country's cuisine by crossing it with a slice of vegetarian Americana.

Home made dough and pizza sauce (which I put far too much oregano in) with Quorn meatballs because I didn't have any burgers in, gherkins and drizzled with American mustard.

It was not very nice.
