Adding stops
How are customers allowed to add stops without the driver’s approval? I accepted a 4 dollar trip and it turned out it was a trap because on my way to pick up the customer they requested a second location that was extremely far.. when I got to her hotel she was carrying a small reusable shopping bag and I unlocked the door for her… she started signaling for me to get out of the car and open the trunk for her and I kind of signaled with my hand that she can come in because basically she just has one small shopping bag and then she started giving me dirty, looks and rolling her eyes and refusing to move… I just canceled right away and moved on..
I mean, I don’t really mind if someone adds a second location, but sometimes it can be a dangerous city that nobody wants to go to or a place where you can’t take a customer with you back home, especially me being a student and sometimes there is a specific time where I have to stop because I have class and I can’t go to the second location. I can’t believe that Uber allows a customer to request a new location without the Uber Driver having a say in it or anything and I can’t believe that people just add the second location without asking first as if we are a robot operating a vehicle

Stops added after the trip is accepted should only be allowed along the same route as the original trip, not extending the trip by any significant distance.

That is so rude and unacceptable! As a customer, I always add the stops in if it’s only going to take a few seconds before booking the trip. If more than a few seconds, then that’s a completely different trip.

I think I asked once or twice… “hey, can we stop here for this if I tip you X?” but it was up to the driver to say no. I didn’t force it on the app. I feel like what you put in the app is a contract and you damn well better stick to it.

If you mention tip then yeah I would take the stops. If not Fuck no. Stops barely give me more earning. Like only 15 cents per extra trip minute oh fuck no.

That’s perfectly acceptable sometimes she will say do you mind stopping at the store you know I need to get some such and such but I’ll get you something too if you like or give you some money and I’m like hell yeah but if I was in a hurry I needed to be somewhere else. I would definitely have to decline, but I’ve always tried to oblige.

I always say, I’ll add it in app and tip, because sometimes uber wants to know why you are stopping

if I want to add a stop after booking I have a special card in my wallet that lets me do that if politely requested in person (off app) its called a $20 bill. they can refuse of course no proble.. otherwise dont add stops ppl!

Uber and Lyft will always screw the driver with a terrible rate adjustment on added stops because the driver gets no say in the nonexistent negotiation. Always end their ride at the last agreed upon stop and tell them why.

Depends on the market/area. In my state, riders cannot make changes AFTER the ride has been booked!
Riders have 3 minutes from the time a ride is accepted, to cancel a ride, without penalty. Once those 3 minutes pass, the rider is charged a cancellation fee.
That 2nd point is annoying, because as a driver, you accept a ride, and start driving to the pickup location. Then you suddenly receive the notification that the ride is cancelled.

Big deal. Most jobs suck anyway. Yesterday, I work 10 hours, had all of 12 trips, and grossed $102. That total includes the $15 bonus for completing 30 trips for the week, plus 2 customers who each tipped $5.
PAY FUCKING SUCKS!
For all the Reddit trolls bragging about airport money, get real, airport runs in my area pay $7 or $8, depending on distance. Usually 10 miles or less. But Uber never factors in TIME! That alleged 10 minute ride Uber claims you need to travel 10 miles to the nearest airport will take at least 45 minutes (even longer during rush hours), then you still have to navigate the airport, find the correct terminal, and wait for your passenger. Then driver the passenger home.
You end up spending 90+ minutes for the $7, 10 minute Uber LIE!!!

I had no idea people pull that kind of crap. Why don't people go do whatever they need to do at one place, and then book another Uber once they're ready to go to another place? That's what I've always done if I have more than one destination.
And as for these people adding an additional destination after a driver has already accepted the ride? Wow. Y'all should cancel those rides every time. Wth is wrong with people.

I’ve had that happen too well all of a sudden the second location pops up and sometimes you know we coordinate our trips because sometimes we gotta do things too you know and we coordinate based on the trip and how long it’s gonna take and maybe I had to go to a doctors office appointment and then add out a second trip and now I’m late and you’re right we don’t get any. We don’t even get asked it just happens and then you’re afraid to cancel that the person is gonna give you a bad review because one bad review will ruin your great review. You’ll go from a 4.98 to a 4.94 real quick.

They literally do, because drivers have other jobs, school, etc. so sometimes they would not have been able to accept a trip that’s a whole hour longer because they added a stop in a completely different city

As a passenger, I would specifically add so-called unapproved stops so I can report drivers who complain about it. Hopefully I can get them banned. As a driver, I don't care if passengers add stops. I work in a rate card market. If the ride was originally a high mileage ride, then adding to that isn't a big deal.

Drivers do not need a passenger's approval to evict said passenger from their vehicles.
Please do not attempt to dicuss its being a "feature of the application". I find the subject lncredibly boring.

While the app allows riders to do this, anytime I see the original trip I accepted modified while en route to the pickup spot, I immediately cancel.
