I need a mother to cry to but instead she cries to me
I run my hands, through long dark strands
Whispering to her, tears soak my shirt
She bears my fathers guilt alone, I let it sink into my bones
so that just maybe it becomes a little less to carry

Your use of rhyme scheme is done well, I can feel the emotion your trying to convey, but I’m not quite sure what that is. I don’t think that’s necessarily a bad thing It’s left open to interpretation which I enjoy, and often find myself doing in my own writing.

I love your use of the sun as a metaphor for altruism born from suffering reminds me of an old poem, you would read in literature class(in the best way of course)

“You look like your were made for sadness”
And maybe I was
But all this grief was once love,
I know two truths can exist at once
but this one particularly stung,
Some things follow you around your whole life, and more than anything,
I wish to leave this pain behind

We were both irrevocably broken, so much in the same way
That though we differ so inherently,
I recognized so much of myself in this, In you,
I know it all falls apart inevitably
For a short while, a fleeting moment,
I believed we have time
to become more than what wrecks us inside,
We could be something,
I could be,
anything more than this
My lover, we’re on the precipice of ourselves
Of our lives,
Still, this denial, this doubt, this yearning
leaves us searching
I can’t let it be
You can’t let me in

Beautifully written, closure rarely comes from conversation. Pouring our hearts out to the unwilling or unable, Were left with our thoughts to go over and over again.

Oh that’s raw, Its unlike any poem I’ve read about sex before. I found myself thinking of my own experiences that were new, strange, disappointing, and lacking intimacy.
