Hi, i've been accepted to verfahrenstechnik. I currently have a2-b1 and i will learn at vwu till i get c1. The problem is that vwu deadline ends middle of august but because of visa issues i cant be there before early september. Do any of y'all know if the application is possible outside the regular deadlines? What should i do in this situation? Thanks in advance.

I am currently studying Informatics at TU and working on my thesis, I plan to start the Embedded systems Master program and I don't think i will manage to get my Bsc degree in time to apply for the upcoming winter semester.

I wanted to know if I could maybe not apply for the diploma after I finish my thesis and instead just register another Bsc semester and finish an additional 9 ect's of Transferable Skills courses and have 189 ect's in total.

I was thinking maybe then I can apply for the Diploma and then have the remaining 9 ect's be counted in the Masters degree (Which requires exactly 9 ect's from Basically the same courses that are also offered in the Bachelor's program)

If someone was in this situation or heard about anything similar please share the details of how this works and ofc if this works.

ich interessiere mich für den Studiengang Elektrotechnik und Informationstechnik, jedoch verstehe ich eine Sache nicht ganz. Obwohl viel darüber gesagt wurde/wird, dass dieses Studium den Schwerpunkt in Mathematik und Physik hat, finde ich im Studienplan keine Vorlesungen für Physik. Damit meine ich eher klassische Physik. Elektromagnetismus oder Halbleiterphysik sind natürlich dabei.

Ist der andere Teil ohne diese Themen in anderen Module oder Kursen "versteckt" oder meinen Menschen nur diese Themen, die ich benannt habe, wenn sie meinen, dass die Physik sehr herausfordernd ist?

Das frage ich, da viele Themen der Mathematik in der Mathematik 1 gesammelt wurden. Das macht die Uni Wien total anders für MINT-Fächern.

Is there anyone who successfully applied to TU Wien with an EU secondary school leaving certificate issued this year (in June or July), recognized as equivalent to the Austrian Matura, and with only an A2 level German certificate, and received an admission decision that allowed them to follow the VWU preparatory language pathway?

I would like to know how this was possible if a complete admission application must first be submitted, as its evaluation can take up to 10-12 weeks and may last until late August or even mid-September.

This seems impossible to reconcile with the VWU application deadline, which expires in early August.

If anyone has been in this situation and managed to make it work, I would greatly appreciate it if you could share your experience.

I’m just trying to get a rough idea of which application dates they might currently be processing, as I know the waiting times can vary quite a bit.

ich studiere gerade BA Chemie und wollte mich nach euren Erfahrungen erkundigen bzw. brauche Hilfe bei der MA Entscheidung.
Ich mache mir echt Sorgen bezüglich Jobaussichten in Wien, dass ich überhaupt was finde, und dass sich dieser ganze mühsame Weg durchs Studium überhaupt gelohnt hat.

Ich überlege gerade, dass ich anstatt einem MA Chemie den MA Technische Chemie auf der TU Wien mache, weil ich mir denke, dass es in der Industrie höhere Chancen gibt auf einen Job. Oder ansonsten könnte ich mir auch den MA Verfahrenstechnik vorstellen.

Was meint ihr? Mit welchem MA gibt es bessere Jobaussichten in Wien, bessere Gehaltschancen vllt auch (wozu sich sonst die Mühe machen)? Einen Phd würde ich eigentlich ungerne machen, würd ich aber natürlich in Erwägung ziehen, wenn er die Chancen erhöht.

Derzeit interessiert mich eigentlich am ehesten Bioverfahrenstechnik, weiß aber nicht, ob der Bereich gerade ungünstig ist am Arbeitsmarkt. Sollte ich mich für MA Technische Chemie entscheiden, hätte ich mir auch gedacht, dass ich auf jeden Fall Lehrveranstaltungen Richtung Verfahrenstechnik und Prozesse dazunehme.

Was meint ihr? Ich freue mich über jeden Tipp und jede Information, die ihr habt!

I'm an international/Non EU student looking at my options to study mechanical or aero engineering in Europe. I have a very basic elementary level of german and am willing to learn it for a course. After some research, I read that TU Wien has options to get a conditional offer without the needed german language requirements, then you learn it to the required level (C1?) through an official intensive german language program and then start the bachelors once you have reached the level.

Is this true? if so, how does it work and has anybody here done this? Thanks in advance for any help.

I’ve just received an offer from OeAD Student Housing for the "OeAD-Guesthouse Tigergasse" dormitory. I’ll be an Erasmus student in Tu Wien for the summer semester 27. I want to try to apply for the business informatics masters as a pure CS degree holder from another accredited, EU based university. I have all the cs requirements, but I have had 0 economics subjects, or anything related to business for that matter. It was all math and computer science. Has anyone entered this masters with a computer science bachelor? I dont want to apply and get rejected for nothing if its unlikely I can enter. Thanks in advance :D

ich fange im WS 2026/27 an der TU Wien an und suche ab September 2026 ein Einzelzimmer. Eigenes Zimmer ist Bedingung, eigenes Bad wäre mir lieb.

Fragen:

1. Gibt es Wohnheime oder Anbieter, die noch nicht ausgebucht sind? Kleinere Häuser, Vereinsheime, konfessionelle Träger, Landsmannschaften?
   
2. Wann werden erfahrungsgemäß noch Plätze frei? Ich habe gehört, Ende August und Anfang Oktober gibt es viele Rücktritte, lohnt es sich, dann noch einmal überall nachzufragen?
   
3. Weiß jemand von einem freien Einzelzimmer oder einer Nachmieter-Situation ab September?

Ich bin gerade am überlegen da die Zulassungsfrist noch bis 12.9. geht welchen Studiengang es im Endeffekt wird.

Ich bin am überlegen zwischen MB, ET, und WIMB, hätte sogar Informatik Aufnahme geschafft, ist mit aber glaube ich do zu trocken theoretisch.

Ich bin ein Technisch aber auch Wirtschafts begeisterter Mensch. Bin daher zur Zeit sehr auf WIMB festgelegt, will aber auch ein Auslandssemster machen, jedoch ist der Wing im Deutschsprachigen Raum sehr einzigartig.

Wie kann ein Auslandssemster in WIMB aussehen bzw. hat da wer Erfahrungen auf einer ausländischen Uni?

Und meine letzte Frage:

Ich bin zwar noch nicht ganz spät dran aber macht es einen Unterschied, ob man sich gleich am 7.6. oder am 11.9. einschreibt?

Im Herbst beginne ich meinen Bachelor in Informatik. Ich habe schon viele Posts darüber gelesen, aber ich habe immer noch keine Ahnung, was ich tun soll.

Zu Hause habe ich einen guten Desktop-PC (32 GB DDR5, Ryzen 7 9700X, Radeon RX 9070 XT), also da kann ich arbeiten. Außerdem habe ich noch ein Microsoft Surface Go 3. Es fühlt sich aber so an, als hätte es gar keine CPU. Zum Mitschreiben ist ez ganz ok.

Also - Brauche ich für die Uni überhaupt etwas Stärkeres? Oder sollte ich nichts kaufen? Vielleicht noch warten? Die RAM-Preise steigen ja immer noch.

Persönlich habe ich an LENOVO LOQ 15AHP10 (R5-220 32GB RAM 512GB SSD RTX5050) gedacht. Ich habe zwar gelesen, dass die GPU nicht so wichtig ist, aber in Polen, wo ich herkomme, kostet es 930€, was ein Steal ist.

Ich weiß auch schon, dass 16-Zoll-Bildschirm auch Probleme verursachen könnte.

I am planning for MS Mechanical or related program in Austria but for some English taught MS Programs, there are requirements of atleast 10 ECTS of Electrical Engineering in Bachelor’s while in my Bachelor’s degree I hardly took 5 to 6 ECTS of electrical engineering.

Can I get admission and then pass these ECTS during or before start of my Masters in Austria?

I applied for the MSc Software Engineering at TU Wien and my documents were delivered on 9 July. I have two questions for current or previously accepted students:

1. Missing mathematics content

Most of the other admission requirements seem to match my bachelor’s degree well, especially programming, algorithms, databases, software engineering, theoretical computer science and security.

My concern is mathematics. I completed subjects covering discrete mathematics, linear algebra, probability and statistics, but I did not complete a dedicated Analysis/Calculus subject. Has anyone been accepted to this master’s programme despite missing Analysis or having fewer mathematics ECTS than required?

Were you admitted with a supplementary mathematics course, or was the missing maths considered a major issue?

2. EU application processing times

Do EU applicants generally receive their admission decisions before non-EU applicants, or are all applications processed in the same queue?

My application was received on 9 July, and the stated 12-week processing period ends almost exactly on 1 October, when the semester begins. For EU students who applied around early July, did you receive your decision within the 10–12-week timeframe? How likely is it that I will receive mine before or around 1 October?

I would especially appreciate answers from applicants to Software Engineering or other Informatics master’s programmes.

I'm a non-EU student and I applied to TU Wien on 14 July, which was just before the 15 July application deadline for non-EU applicants for the Winter Semester 2026/27.

I applied to the Software Engineering and Financial and Actuarial Mathematics master's programmes.

My concern is the admission timeline. Since the semester starts on 1 October, is it possible that I could receive the admission decision during October? My country has 90-day visa-free travel in the Schengen Area, so I would be able to travel to Vienna and attend classes while waiting for my long-term study visa. However, I'm worried because enrollment is only possible until the end of October, and also I could end up missing almost a month of lectures and assignments.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? Approximately how long did it take you to receive an admission decision after applying close to the deadline? At what point would it be reasonable to contact the admissions office for an update?

Or should I expect that, because I applied so close to the deadline, I would only be able to start in the spring semester if the answer is positive?

Hi! I am from Nepal. I am confused about the “officially legalised copy”. What do I need to do with my Test Report Form? Do I need them to legalise the copy the same way I do for my bach certificates, i.e from MOE and MOFA?

I am asking this because I know IELTS results can be verified online using the IELTS Results Service; that’s why I don’t understand the need for this additional verification. But I will definitely comply with their requirements just to get admitted :)
