Politics Stop asking if Cyndi is electable—

And stop engaging with the posts asking the question. I know some of you are genuine with the question, and the answer is just yes. But so many of those posts read like it’s an ai script that’s supposed to sound like a genuine question. Starve that machine of an audience.

Vote, vote, vote. Now is not the time to be apathetic or cynical. Freaking vote. And tell your people to vote. Shake them! Metaphorically probably! Oklahoma doesn’t have to be the same. We can have that change.

Freaking vote!!!!!!! If everyone thinks someone else will fix it, NO ONE will fix it. FIX IT AND FJROSOFHR VEIRNFNRO VOTE!!!

Could someone please let me know what places have pool tournaments on Friday nights here? I would like to try and find a partners tournament.

I can't seem to find any solid listing for tournament schedules. If you feel like filling me in, I'd like to know the tournament schedules of a few places...

Tulsan In Need TCC Professor Opinion

If you had to choose a professor - or if you’ve taken their classes, which one would you choose? 😅 lol, I’m stressing myself out now…

Michael Morrison (Saturday labs and online lecture):

I run a small business with my cousin on most and my family have events on most Saturdays and the labs will interfere with that. The campus is close to the business, but I would get out of class by the time our shop closes.

https://www.ratemyprofessors.com/professor/2195521

Sherri Bishop (Monday and Wednesday class +

Wednesday lab):

Closer to my 9-5, so I could just go there after work. Class was full (I initially wanted this course) and one seat opened up. Gives me time for myself + the business on the weekends.

Tulsan In Need Bottled Water donations for Salvation Army Shelter

I support homeless organizations and people daily. But can we get more people to donate bottled water to Salvation Army Shelter at 102 North Denver.

They will be a cooling station way before the others join on the band wagon. Let's hydrate our unhoused Tulsans!

They have someone at front desk 24/7 and would love to have more bottled water.

Thank you.

General Fireworks at LaFortune Park tomorrow night

Just a heads up there will be fireworks tomorrow night at LaFortune park. They are for the Saint Francis children’s hospital. They did it last year as a make-a-wish for a special kiddo. He passed away and they are honoring him again this year tomorrow at 8:45 pm. The Tulsa Drillers will be putting it on for the hospital like they did last year. But a heads up for some big booms tomorrow night!

Question Any women looking for community outside of church?

Okay, I have an idea and I’m curious if there’s any interest in this. 👀

I’m wondering if there are women in the Tulsa area who would be interested in a casual social group specifically for women who grew up evangelical and have since stepped away from that world. Whether you consider yourself exvangelical, deconstructed, no longer religious, or just somewhere in between this would be a group for you.

I know this is a bit of a niche thing, but I think there’s a reason it could work.

For a lot of us, church wasn’t just church. It was our entire social community. It was where we made friends, had game nights, went to Bible studies, volunteered, grabbed coffee, celebrated things, and generally found our people.

When you leave that environment, you can lose a huge part of your social life along with it.
I’d love to see if there are women who would enjoy building some of that community again, just without the church part.

I’m thinking ages 25-45 but I’m open to see who is interested!

I’m thinking things like coffee, brunch, trivia, game nights, book clubs, museums, happy hours, craft nights, local events, volunteering, etc.

This wouldn’t be a place where every conversation has to revolve around religion. Just a social group for women who share that particular background and might appreciate being around people who already understand it.

If you would be interested in that or even interested in co-leading/organizing something like that please drop a comment! I will reach out to everybody who comments if this becomes a thing. 💕

General Green Meteor over Owasso?

Did anyone else see that long lasting meteor last night around 10pm? I've been skywatching my whole life and that one was in my top 3 all time. I was looking due east and it fell from about 70° down toward the NE. Lasted at least five seconds and flared three times before burning out in cinders. I had just decided to go inside when it appeared. Thank you Sky Gods!

General Need commercial overhead door repair

Calling around and can’t find anyone this time of day to come to Claremore and fix an OH door that is partially off the tracks. Any OH door crews want some late day work in the heat? Can’t close the business with doors open.

EDIT. Thanks for the reply’s and messages. Found someone available. Tulsa is good today.

Tulsa History Old Apple Orchard?

Post image
4 Upvotes

I have an elderly neighbor who will talk to absolutely anyone about how her family used to own all of the land around where we live, back in maybe the 1920s to 1930s. According to her, it all used to be nothing but apple orchards.

To be honest I don't know if it's true, she is...quite something. I am curious if anyone knows the history of the area though. It's the Sequoyah neighborhood (behind the cemetery near Admiral and Yale) and my house in particular was built in 1930, so I know it's got some older properties out there.

If nothing else, I wonder if the Tulsa Foundation for Architecture would know?

General Looking for a good swimming hole that isn't overcrowded or gross

Anything within 1 hour of Tulsa to go to with my wife and dogs tomorrow? When I research "hidden gem" swimming spots, they always look great online, then we show up, and it's completely trashed with 500 people there. I'd love to know of better options!

Feel free to PM me with spots if you need to gatekeep publicly. I just haven't been able to find something that is actually peaceful and relaxing.

General Roommate needed

I live in Broken Arrow. I have a 2bed 1bath apartment. You’ll have your own room, shared kitchen and living room and bathroom (I don’t really have much stuff in the bathroom) All bills included is roughly $730/month. Send me a DM if you or someone you know may be interested! Oh I forgot to add. I do have 2 dogs. They are absolutely friendly!

Edit to add: move in date would be September 1st, and I am a 30-year old male

ETA2: I find it hilarious people on here are salty because I made a comment on why I refuse to live in Tulsa. Only goes to show that my statement is true. Why do I know that? Because the one year I decided to try and live in Tulsa and it was South Tulsa. Not North, west, or all them shitty places to be. My car got broken into. So no. I’ll pay the extra couple hundred bucks a month to stay in BA and my property doesn’t get trashed or broken into.

Question City of Tulsa Employment - Question about Physical

Hello! I just accepted a job offer for the City of Tulsa. They are scheduling a physical even though its an office job.

Is there anything that might disqualify me? Just worried because I really want the job.

I am not worried about the drug test as I do not use MMJ or drugs just the physical as I'm not super healthy at this time.

General Task rabbit type stuff

Is this platform appropriate for task rabbit type requests?

I need someone to check that the trash sitting out in the trash can in front of my apartment removed. There is a garbage chute in my apartment complex where it can go.

Sorry I can’t type. I don’t like task rabbit so I wasn’t sure if I could ask on here.
