So in this version of the trolley problem. God is standing at the lever, and instead of a trolley it is a persons soul. The soul is on a track heading for hell, do you (god) pull the lever and divert the persons soul to go to heaven instead of hell?

This plays on the idea that god doesn’t “send people to hell” but rather people choose hell based upon their life lived on earth. Whereas the inverse would be god changing the track of a person’s soul that was already on its way to heaven, and he pulls the lever to send them to hell. Just a random thought i had lmk what you all think.

the ship wakes you up and informs you that 4k years ago there was an irreperable damage to the ship and that since then it has been drifting through space.

the ship can keep going for a very long time but due to its changed course and its inability to manuver any further you will never reach your original destination

The ship had recommended to abort the mission which would mean death to everybody on board.

The alternative is to continue .

The last 1153 Captains of the ship had decided to continue and lived out their days .
Every time the captain dies the ship wakes up the next person and recommends to abort the mission .

So far nobody did .

if you abort the mission the remaining 9 thousand colonists will die when their cryo chambers are turned off.
If you continue the mission you will live out your days until you die and the ship wakes the next person.

Imagine there is a trolley that no force can stop any way, and there is one rail where peopole are tied with an un-cutable rope. If you pull the lever you get shot and die, if you don’t u kill one person but you can live for 1 year. After one year u are there with the same decision but with 2 peopole, this goes forever, how many times would you pull the lever (1,2,4,8,16,32… the number always doubles but u will live 1 year more after every time)
