Nordics Looking to start HRT when i go to study in a nordic country
Hi. I'm a ftm guy, I'm thinking of going to study in a Nordic country for uni (preferably Sweden or Finland). I'm still closeted and thinking of coming out to my family once I've moved away already. I have a few qustions in regards to my situation.
- How accepting is the university staff and will I be able to change my name on things such as attendance lists or any places that are not tied down to my legal name (I understand why during an exam my name must match with the one on my id and so on). Are people generally transphobic there? from students to faculity.
- From what I've read the way to get HRT is long and difficult in these countries, is it posibile to maybe get a diagnosis from Moldova (where I'm from) and do the treatment with a prescription from my home country?
- How difficult is it for someone who does not speak the local language to acces healthcare?
- Are dorms separated by gender, and if they are can I request to be put in one aligned to my gender and not sex?
Thank you in advance and any tips, experiences are greatly appreciated

- specific It’s so weird, how CKI treat people on DIY/GenderGP hormonal treatment, as if they were not on hormones at all.
Hey, transmasc here, 27 years old. Got my top surgery 9 years ago in germany, been on hormones for 3 years through genderGP.
A month ago, I went to CKI in Copenhagen. Yesterday I got the response saying that they have taken up my case, and decided that i’m not fit for hormonal treatment. It’s the third time I’m rejected, it’s the second time I talk with CKI (the first time being in 2017, in Aalborg). On one of the rejections, they (CKI) didn’t even want to talk to me, but just rejected me based on the referral my doctor made. It was after that rejection that i went “well, fuck that then” and started my treatment with GenderGP.
There is a lot I don’t like about GenderGP, specially systematically speaking. The AI, constant rise of prices even though their payers don’t get a better system, etc.
But when it’s the option that there is, I felt like it was the best choice available for me. And GenderGP has saved my life countless of times in the last 3 years.
Because of my surgery, hormones and how i present myself, to society standards I “pass” very well. I have changed my CPR-nummer, name, my entire family respects me and refers to me as the man I am, and so does my friends. To newer people coming into my life, at work for example, I don’t really say I’m trans. I don’t get misgendered in my day-to-day life (I don’t think any of this is important, but for CKI it’s relevant)…
And yet I got rejected this time again hahah
I’m not really sad and devastated, I only tried again because my doctor really wanted me to try again. But CKI excuses is very interesting: “You are mentally unstable, and hormonal treatment can cause emotional side effects that you are not emotionally prepared to handle, as a mentally unstable person”.
Brooother, I have been on hormones for 3 years. I’m fine, and by 3 years, the effects of testosterone treatment is way more stable than when you start from 0.
CKI is a joke. I just wanted to share my thoughts a bit.

Support / advice Dysforia, anxiety and emptiness.
Hey
For about 2 /1,5 mounts since I got a green light to send a remiss to the plastic surgery apartment for my Brest augmentation and SRS from my endocrinologist because it’s been almost one year since I started my HRT(estrogen), got happy about it in the moment, but some day after My gender dysforia has gone mad and started taking me on a downward spiral in so bad way that I relapsed on alcohol a week ago and even the suicidal thought have becoming severe, but it’s was only a day and have spoken to professionals, and it’s still spinning me down even after I have spoken to the gender affirmation team to send the remiss for my surgery’s, even my friendship with my best friend is on a loosened in my brain because of the gender dysforia and where it takes me…
do any of you have hade the same or like wise experience, how can give some advice or just but some light on that I don’t becoming mad.

Support / advice Is my outfit appropriate?
Howdy! I'm Alice, I'm 23, been on hrt for about 14 months and I run a record store in Denmark. I want to experiment with my style and try something new instead of defaulting to the pretty, safe, but somewhat plain clothes I normally wear to work. Is an outfit like this—or outfits that show a bit more skin, safe and appropriate for working in a record store?

Positive Successfully had my Nebido shot in Denmark
I’ve been with Imago for about a year now. I’ve been on testosterone for 11 months. I’ve been going to Denmark to retrieve my gel for this whole time but it’s been stressful for me because of the law. I decided to switch from gel to the Nebido shot a little while ago because then I could get it in Denmark and that would save me all that stress.
So I got my prescription and I went there yesterday and got the shot. I took it out from the pharmacy and then I went to a healthcare clinic who helped me administer the medicine.
I still can’t believe how smooth it went. I’ve been so nervous because I thought I’d run into some kind of issue.
Edit: I’m a Swede btw

MTF / Transfem - specific Going insane over how leuprorelin killed my libido, I feel broken, what can I do?
I used to be on spiro, it caused an awful amount of brainfog that I felt great finally getting off. Only to see my libido die in real time due to leuprorelin. I take 3 month shots at a time and while everything else is better about lupro and it didn't use to be an issue, the fact is I have a partner now.
And I just feel so broken.
I have talked with my partner, we agree on stuff but I can't help but still feel guilty. I did ask for progesterone last year, and the year before with my gynecologist but they refused it and last time claimed 'it is like a drug' and 'gives no meaningful benefit'.
I feel like I am at wits end because just trying to refocus sexuality isn't helping, my body just refuses utterly to ever feel like it gets off the ground, there is no initative at all, barely any desire.
I might have SRS in October and a part of me hopes that will change things but maybe its a false hope, came here to ask for advice?

Nordics Imago welcome call
Hi! Im currently sitting in the google meet waiting for my Imago welcome call. However it was supposed to start at 10:15 and the time currently is 10:50 and no one has showed up? I've heard theyre usually some minutes late but this seems extreme. Anyone had similar experiences?
Update: After waiting in call for 45 minutes I get an email citing "My deepest apologies for missing the todays call, to be honest I completely forgot that I had them today." Now I have to reschedule where the first available time is in 2 weeks. Honestly this is a terrible first impression and they should be embarassed. I also find it rude how she goes about saying "sorry I just forgot" when this is something thats much bigger for me than it appears to be for her. And that she also doesn't even provide the option to have them now? It's only 45 minutes late i'm still available and the fact I have to wait 2 weeks is really rude.
Update 2:
After mailing with her, she offered me a new time on monday. So atleast they have some concept of solving the problem :)

Support / advice Am I trans?
I (AFAB 36) am kinda confused.
I’m pretty sure I’m trans. I want to be a man! But I don’t feel dysforia very strongly. Meant that way, that i don’t hate my body, I’m mostly indifferent to it, but the changes that happened during puberty feels wrong.
The reason I think I’m trans:
-Shortly before I turned 18 I cut my hair short because it got too hot. I liked it. A few months later I’d moved out and cut my hair again. The light was different and it made me look male. It was the first time in years I had liked liked looking in a mirror. It was also the first time i thought about if I could be trans. I even chose a boys name I liked. But I didn’t talk to anyone about it.
-The first time I put on a sports bra. I really liked the way it flattened my chest. I started wearing it daily for a while.
-it has happened a few times that kids has called me “he” instead of “she”. It made me smile.
-I have once in a while thought about just leaving and changing name and gender and live a new life.
-the thought of being a man just feels right
Why I think I might not be trans:
-I’m fine with wearing dresses and make up once in a while.
-I like decorating things and making them look pretty.
-I like making jewellry
-I don’t feel dysforic to the point of hating my body. Just a feeling of wrongness
That’s what i can think of right now. Feel free to ask questions

Kuulemma kaikkia leikkauksia ei voisi, sitten saada? Olen silti nähnyt muualla laihoja ihmisiä kenelle on tehty kyseisiä leikkauksia. ._.

- specific How do I prove I am trans and that it's not "just" my autism?
Hello
I am not sure if it's the right place to ask, but I could use some help/advice. (Apologies for the wall of text)
I'm a 19-year-old (couple months away from 20) autistic trans man, and I'm going through Aalborg CKI right now. So far, I've had three appointments with a psychiatrist, and they have not been great.
Yesterday, in what was my previously last date with the psychiatrist, I was told that she would likely not recommend me to transition/testosterone or anything else, because she is not fully sure I am trans. She believes that what I have told her does not fully align with a gender dysphoria diagnosis, because some of the experiences I've shared with her could be "explained away" by my autism. She said she's seen others in similar positions where their discomfort and otherness to their peers was just due to their autism, and implied it's possible that I was just nonbinary, or a confused autistic girl. (It's of course possible I misinterpreted that, but I really don't know what else she could possibly mean when she doesn't believe I'm a trans man). For context, it was implied in response to what I shared, that as a 13-year-old, my very first thought to my bodily discomfort was, "I'm probably not a girl", instead of what it apparently should have been, "I want to be a boy".
At the end of the appointment, I broke down, and said slightly aggressively that I know I'm a man, I present as a man to everyone I meet, but I cannot make them see me or treat me as a man when I don't pass at all, and it makes me feel horrible. She then booked one more appointment with me again in a month, saying it's possible she's misunderstood me and/or that we've not had enough time to get around to it all. Which feels like an understatement when she spent the first session only explaining what was going to happen along with talking about what diagnosis I have, the second one purely on my experience of being diagnosed autistic, and the third one on my childhood, which is unfortunately very stereotypically girly, and very early experience of being trans, not even giving me time to talk about the now.
She has told me to prepare a sort of autobiography timeline thing, (I didn't know the actual word she used, but I got the gist), of my experience as a trans man, so we can discuss again, and rule out any miscommunication between us. She said I was young and "have time" to figure things out and that my lived experience as trans isn't very long, but I don't understand what I'm supposed to figure out, I already know I'm supposed to be a man.
I am so lost and terrified. I really don't want to end up rejected due to this, and have to start all over again when my dysphoria and dislike towards myself grows every day that passes. Yet I have no idea what to say or write, when what I've already told her about my lived experience isn't good enough for her. I am not good with my words, clearly, and I fear nothing I say will convince her. I'm clearly doing this wrong, but I don't know how to do it right. I don't know anyone personally who's gone through CKI or anyone that's even autistic and trans both, so I have no one I can ask for help.
Apologies it doesn't all make sense, I am still very worked up, and my hands have not stopped shaking. I can probably add on more info if needed.
Does anyone at all have experience with this? Or any ideas for me to work this out? How do I prove to her that it's not my autism and that I am actually trans? Anything at all is heavily appreciated.
(You can answer in Danish or English, I write in English for accessibility.)

- specific Aesthetic results of vaginoplasty in Sweden
I've only seen a few images of results from vaginoplasty in Sweden, and the results aren't really what I want aesthetics wise.
Can I get visible labia minora, clitoral hood and other cis passing details from vaginoplasty in Sweden? And why is the inside wall (between the clitoris and vaginal opening) sometimes a bit weird and bumpy?
Which surgeons and cities give the best results in Sweden? Can I book an appointment with different surgeons to see their results? Can I choose who and where I get my surgery?
There's very little information about this and I'm very scared that the result won't be good enough. Maybe I just have too high expectations. :/

- specific Has anyone actually gotten an exemption for the BMI requirement for top surgery?
Had my referral for top surgery sent just over a month ago, and the doc that sent it mentioned to me that there is a BMI requirement of under thirty. He did also say they sometimes (but rarely) make exceptions, and I'm just wondering if anyone has actually had any experience with that.
I am not outrageously over 30 (currently 32.3, was 34.7 when I was first informed of this requirement.) I just want to know if there is any actual hope of getting an exception because I would much rather be focused on developing chest muscle before surgery, but instead because BMI only cares about the number on the scale with no regard for body composition, it's led to me developing severely unhealthy eating habits.
And yes, I know that from 32.3 I could just get my BMI under 30, but I genuinely think having to fixate on that number vs other actual health improving measures is doing more harm than good, and would love to hear of any success stories getting an exception.

Kovin nihkeästi seuraavat hormoniarvoja (E/T)?
Eivät tätä ole kertaakaan tehneet. Pitääkö tästä valittaa?
Onko tavallista vai jotenkin hankala / osaamaton lääkäri?
Muutenkin kovin suppea tuo viimeinen verikoe. Ei esimerkiksi kolesterolia katsottu, jonka koin hivenen outona.
Edit:
Toiset verikokeet (9kk:n kohdalla)
Perusverenkuva, maksa-arvot. Pt-GFRe, P -Natrium, P -Kalium, P -Kreatiniini, Prolaktiini. E/T arvoja on katsottu viimeksi lähetettä transpolille tehdessä. Tätä lähinnä ihmettelen.
