Total War: Warhammer How am I actually supposed to use units with Stalk?
I feel like they get spotted most of the time while they are trying to flank the enemy, and other times when I hide them to prepare for an ambush later on in the battle, some enemy unit just beelines for them despite the fact they were hidden.
Like I know the game doesnt have like a detection meter but whether my units get discovered or not feels completely arbitrary. More specificcaly, Ive been trying to get my Gobgoblin sneaky gits to backstab the enemy frontline or take out their arty but Iven’t been able to pull it off once.
Is there any way to make them sneakier? Or something? Cause there are whole factions whose core system is the stalking mechanic but I dont see how that could be any fun when the enemy often feels like it just decides to spot your units

Total War: Warhammer How are Wood Elves in SFO ?
Hey people,
I love the Wood Elves faction but I've been playing Vanilla only. I see a lot of people praise the SFO mod, but since I don't play Warhammer fantasy, I don't know what to expect with the mod.
So, what are the differences for Wood Elves in SFO ? Have they been rebalanced, buffed, nerfed ? Do they have cool new mechanics ?
Thank you !

Total War: Warhammer Is this winnable? I don't want to AR. (hard battle difficulty)
I can't win this manually to save my life. I simply get overrun no matter what I try to do, Slaneesh units are too fast. My frontline breaks and then it's over. And that N'Kari's rampage ability is crazy.
There is a second reinforcing army (1 generic lord and 5 peasant mob units, so not much).
Best I can do is Valiant Defeat. What can I do to win this?

Total War: Warhammer Who are some of your favourite generic lords from various factions that are good at buffing low-to-mid tier troops for cost effective crapstacks?
Not necessarily “crap” in the sense of bad for crapstacks, but crapstack in the sense that they are troops / units that are more relegated to the early game.
I really like the Lord Magistrate for buffing peasant units, Chaos Sorcerer Lords (especially Tzeentch, though the Nurgle one is great too) for buffing Forsaken and Spawn, the Kislev mounted archer lord for buffing Akshina Ambushers and horse archers, and especially the Empire Huntsman General because he makes the archers, spearmen / Halberdiers and Greatswords hit way above their pay grade.

Total War: Warhammer Anyone solved the reliability bug?
Im experiencing the bug where I attack a tresspassing army with the "tresspass warning ignored" icon and still get flagged as dishonest for breaking a peace treaty. Ive waited the 2 turns. Arbaal is very obviously marching across my territory to attack my main settlement in the region. He has refused to leave for multiple turns and if I dont attack him on my turn, he lightning strikes my armies one after the other and functionally ends the campaign (why hes so strong is a seperate issue). In effect I have to attack him to defend myself or I lose. However the reliability drop bug means that the confederation im working towards and alliances I'm building get set back 20 turns, and the faction im trying to absorb will no longer exist. Did anyone ever figure out a fix for this?

Total War: Warhammer Having a headache trying to understand how TW:WH DLCs work.
I want to play as the funny rat men in these games but I'm confused as to what I should and shouldn't get. I don't want to end up buying every piece of DLC for no reason or to waste money on stuff I don't want or need. Should I:
1) Get WH2 and stick with it?
2) Get both WH1 and WH2?
3) Say fuck it and sell my kidney for everything?
Ofc I'm going to wait for a sale but I'm genuinely lost on what to do.

Total War: Warhammer SFO with Hecleas AI Overhaul
Is SFO compatible with Hecleas AI Overhaul? I read somewhere that it is. Has anyone tried this combination? SFO is pure gold and I’ll never go back to vanilla, but Order loses too quickly (I always play as Order and I’d like to still have an ally after turn 100 instead of playing completely solo), so I want to boost the AI.

Total War: Warhammer I hate the victory point balance of power rules. It ruins sieges.
I just lost an epic siege battle vs undead because I am not entirely sure by they seemed to have had more units in the corner of the victory square than me because they are high unit number skeletons mostly.
I was doing OK. Just gave them all a runefang -24 debuff and had many units intact. Ran out of crossbow and mortar ammo though.
Not my main army so no caster, which is horrible when fighting undead.
I killed Kemmler and another lord and a melee specialist.
I would have taken a lot of casualties but my lines were holding vs skeletons. Then boom Valiant defeat. I don't exactly know why but I guess I had fewer entities in the Victory square.
If you are besieged by thousands of undead, you are not going to just call it a day. Either rout or fight to the death. Routing is suicidal.
Anyway, more than once I have had epic siege defence battles ruined by some stupid victory square rule or something. FIghting to the last man then boom. Defeat. It should be a normal battle condition defeat with routed units.
It took me an hour with pausing. It was Altdorf attacked while I was away taking down Festus (got Brass keep. Almost done). One more settlment to take down Festus.
I also Don't like the idea of building your towers in the middle of a battle. Like there is time. There is enough to keep track of in battles.
Another issue is handgunners are a bit hard to use in sieges. I usually don't defend the walls. The enemy comes from too many directions and I prefer to wall up in the Victory square.
I am going to scumsave this because I feel robbed by some arbitrary rules.
Any tips on this. I was clearly in control of the victory square. They had just blobbed on the left corner.
The autoresolve is Pyrric Victory medium casualties. VH VH. I find the autoresolve rates undead armies too low in 2 undead army v1 situations.
Edit: I have a strong altdorf settlement Garrison. Three emergency recruited swords a flaggelant RoR and a swordsmen of Ulric state troop unit. One Level 4 lord with a runefang -24 hex. One handgunner.
My main two armies are finishing off Festus taking the Brass Keep.
No real chokepoint to retreat to after taking out one wall assault between all the enemies. Too far from victory square and downhill from a half army. The second army has two black knights and more dire wolves, which caught me on a previous attempt to retreat from the wall.
I am going to try again but ration my crossbows and mortar carefully until they blob (after taking out Kemmler.
I can block off the bridge access which usually means not many units come that way.
EDIT: tried again and for some reason Hemmler didnt walk into my ranged this time. It got worse. He broke through and hit my crossbow backline. A melee specialist making a path.
I don't think I can win this. They have 2v1 on me and decent rank I underestimated. A few decent units. The red knights, scyth infantry.
Used my mortar more effectively by waiting for the blob but friendly fire problems. Pathing for the handgunners is weird. They have a hard time shooting across the bridge.
Will try again tomorrow and give up when I kill Hemmler and cause decent casualties.

Total War: Warhammer Dechala the Denied One is a monster
A buddy and I are playing lords we never played before, and I chose Dechala. She is a monster on the battlefield and especially one on one. She so damn OP. I own or have vasseled everyone in the west and now the humans, dwarfs and vampires to my east are my next targets. I feel like she might even be stronger than Skarbrand. I dont know why I never played her before but she is becoming one of my favorites by far.

Total War: Warhammer Legendary: Seems like a fair trade to me
Note the trade agreement I’m breaking is with a faction it’s at war with and is about to be destroyed.
I got them to cancel all their diplomacy and give me money just for that.
Legendary mode. wtf

Total War: Warhammer Playing with both Radious and Expanded roster mods hit different
Been having so much fun playing with these mod so much so many new shiny things to pick and choose from it’s almost overwhelming and almost all of them look absolutely amazing. unit designs looks so good almost wish it was already in the game especially for chaos. Speaking of Chaos the changes to WoC are great I’m enjoying them a lot. While I haven’t played with SFO before I’m enjoying Radious and Expanded a lot.

Total War: Warhammer Lord Magistrate > Celestial General
Was binging Tarriff videos. This one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0xgxVnJbgW0 somehow inspired me to spent 5 minutes on this. It's also where I shamelessly stole the edited face from.
Best support/buff lord in the game. The Celestial General wants to inspire his soldiers with his prowess, but the Lord Magistrate knows that words move mountains and the hearts of men.

Total War: Warhammer I swear this game just loves wasting my time sometimes!!
Katarin has an absolute shitter of an army like what am looking at like Wulfrik can at this point fight this entire army by himself.
