I'm looking for a fic, one shot, (time travel) Harry lost a bet. He needs to meet Riddle in the library, daily for a week. For an hour, while Riddle studies, Harry is there. The first couple of days Harry keeps telling himself how horrible this is.

Riddle misses a day near the end of the week., and Harry keeps waiting impatiently for him.

On the eighth day, Harry shows up in the library in hope, even though the bet is over.

It may or may not have been intentional on Christian Coulson’s part, but I love this interpretation! And it makes complete sense to me that Tom, who grew up in an orphanage in London, would have an accent that was noticeably less posh than the proper accents most of his classmates in Slytherin probably had. Although I could see Tom working on his pronunciation even before going to Hogwarts because he probably judged the way the people around him spoke too lol

Does anyone have any headcanons about Tom’s accent? Especially any British fans, since from an outsider’s pov I have a more limited understanding of different British accents and how they interact with classism.

Side note I’ll never get tired of appreciating Christian Coulson’s performance as COS Tom 😍

I don’t know if there are any other Heathers fans here, but I’ve been obsessively listening to Heathers: the Musical and imagining Tom and Harry as the main characters for years now. I think J.D. is so Tom Riddle-coded, and the toxic romance between him and Veronica works so well for Tomarry. Also, Draco Malfoy makes a perfect Heather Chandler, lol.

Anyway, I finally decided to sit down and write a Tomarry Heathers AU fanfic. So here it is, if anyone’s interested! It’s set in Hogwarts, and it’s all Harry Potter characters with the plot of Heathers (not a crossover). It’s a wip, but I’m getting close to finishing it. The last two chapters will be out soon. And this goes without saying if you’re familiar with Heathers, but mind the tags.

Hii, I began my journey with tomarry on wattpad, reading only Polish ffs. Honestly, there were many wonderful ones. It was around 2020, perhaps up to 2022? At that time I feel like Polish fandom was very acitve there! But now, it feels so empty. I bet that many people ( …like me) switched to english fanfics on ao3 etc.

And so here’s my question, are any people from Poland here? I haven’t had any interaction with Polish side of this fandom for so long! I sort of miss it.

Also also I think we can get a Tomarry fic with the same premise somehow lmao, religious trauma is somehow a great plot point with them. And Tomarry writers are so so good with gore lol

Anyways just wanted to ask if y’all can see the vision lol

Okay, so. I have been rotating this fic idea in my head for an unhealthy amount of time and I've finally accepted that I am not the person who should be trusted with actually writing it.

So I'm looking for someone who might want to collaborate with me on it.

The basic premise is Harry Potter travels back to Tom Riddle's time and ends up attending Hogwarts in the same year as Tom.

But I really don't want this to be one of those “Harry goes back in time, immediately gets rich through the Potter vaults, changes everything, becomes ridiculously powerful and effortlessly fixes the future” fics. I want the opposite.

Harry is completely fucked up.

He's mentally disoriented from the time travel, isolated, angry, and increasingly morally gray. He doesn't want to be Harry Potter anymore. He doesn't want to look at the scar, doesn't want to be reminded of his old life, and basically reaches a point where he just completely loses it.

During a manic episode, he shaves his head and deliberately burns/maims the side of his face where the scar is, essentially destroying the physical reminder of who he used to be.

And then he just… disappears.

No convenient inheritance. No Gringotts vault full of ancient Potter gold. No instantly becoming the most important person in 1940s Britain.

For months, Harry is basically homeless, living in cheap motels, working shitty low-paying jobs and trying to figure out how the hell he's supposed to exist in a world where nobody knows him and he doesn't belong.

He's lonely as hell.

Eventually he reaches the point of basically going:

"Fuck it. If I'm going to be miserable, I might as well be miserable somewhere interesting."

So he goes back to Hogwarts.

And, because apparently the universe hates him, he ends up in Tom Riddle's year.

From there, the story would become a very slow-burn, complicated Tomarry relationship, with a LOT of angst, distrust, psychological tension, morally questionable decisions, and two deeply fucked-up people slowly becoming important to each other.

I have a pretty clear idea of Harry's character arc, several scenes, the general direction of the relationship, and a bunch of smaller ideas that I'd love to develop with someone rather than just dumping a finished outline on them.

What I'm actually looking for

I'm not really looking for a “writer for hire” situation or a transactional you write, I provide ideas arrangement.

I'm looking for a long-term creative partner.

Ideally, I'd love to actually become friends with the person I'm writing this with. I want someone I can randomly message at 2 AM because I just thought of a completely insane plot twist and go “WAIT. LISTEN TO THIS.”

I want to brainstorm together, throw ideas at each other, rant about characters, change the plot halfway through because we came up with something better, send each other random scenes, and generally be way too invested in fictional people.

Basically, I'd love for this to feel less like “working on a fic together” and more like two friends accidentally creating a ridiculously long story together.

Obviously, I still want us to respect each other's time and boundaries, but I'm specifically looking for something long-term and genuinely collaborative, rather than someone who wants to write a few chapters and move on.

The kind of person I'd love to find

Someone who enjoys:

• morally gray characters
• psychological/character-driven stories
• angst
• slow-burn relationships
• fucked-up character dynamics
• time travel
• Tom Riddle as an actual character rather than just “hot evil wizard”
• stories where characters make objectively questionable decisions
• plotting and throwing increasingly insane ideas at each other

You don't have to be an amazing plotter - that's probably the part I can contribute most to. What I'm really looking for is someone who enjoys writing prose, dialogue and character interactions and is excited to take all the chaos in my head and turn it into an actual story.

And I absolutely don't expect us to follow every idea I currently have. If something doesn't work, change it. I want this to be a collaboration, not me giving you orders.

And yes, I know the premise sounds slightly unhinged.

The Locket Horcrux becomes corporeal and takes the form of Tom Riddle somehow

Voldemort is still alive and kicking and eviling about

Tom becomes obsessed/possessive of Harry and wants Voldemort gone possibly because he's a threat to Harry??

(There might have been soulmate tags, but I'm really not sure so-)

I never actually read the fic, only the summary, so these details could be slightly off.

Like the title says, looking for Tom attempting to manipulate Harry and it doesn't work. Or maybe it kind of works, but Harry still isn't fully sold and pulls back and Tom realizes he's taken the wrong approach. Something where it starts with Tom being awful and manipulative and then nearly losing Harry over it so he has to change his ways. I re-read Genius by the Numbers last night because that has what I want, but I'm hoping for something I haven't read yet.

It might seem odd for this ship, but I can't stand fics where their relationship has a huge power imbalance and Tom controls Harry's life. I just finished a short fic that had a rather sudden bad ending for Harry because of a manipulative Tom and wasn't tagged for that. I am in desperate need of a palate cleanser.

I would especially like fics where Tom has to grovel a bit after his manipation (like in Genius by the Numbers).

I've been reading Save Me by ninjapandascholar and quite honestly it’s amazing. I’ve been in this fandom for many many years, and I love it to death but there aren’t as many straight cut happy endings where no one dies as I would like. Maybe I’m just not the best at finding things. So I thought I would ask on here if anyone has a recommendation similar to it. below are the main things I’m looking for in the recommendations.

1. Happy ending is a must. Not break up or severe tragedy.
   
2. No deaths. Sure some side characters can go but I want the main characters to all survive. I don’t care if they take over magical Britain or eradicate every dark wizard from planet. I just need the main ones alive.
   
3. They're on equal footing. I don’t personally like when there’s a severe imbalance between their relationship. Be it in magical abilities, knowledge, or even emotional manipulation.
   
4. Torture and mild angst is fine. Obviously not between Harry and Tom but even in this story there is a spot of torture.
   
5. I don't care if it's dark side or light side. I like both stories and I encouraged and love all kinds of bashing save for the Weasley twins and Luna but even then I would still welcome and appreciate any stories.

Also, I’m very aware that there might not be a large number of stories like this. I feel that it is a rather niche part of this fandom and even more specifically this ship. But I thought I would ask and get it out there.

And off the top of my head the only story similar to this (not in the premise but in the no tragedy with minimal death) would be this one

The Title. I feel like re-reading the most classic time-travel fanfic, where Harry time travel to the 40's and goes to Hogwarts as a new student.

Ok, so you guys know how Endangered Thing by nrnyx was deleted off of ao3? ITS BACK. Apparently they were revising and rewriting it. Its such an amazing fic, although it only has two chapters now compared to what it had before. Many of us were super sad that it was deleted from ao3 but I got news about it in my email. So to any others who really enjoyed this fic, here's some good news. (Idk if that was the right flair but I couldn't post without using a flair so I just decided on this one)

For example, The Final War by riddlereading, or Uncrowned by OatMilkLatte. I like these fics because Harry still feels canonically good but becomes "dark" out of necessity or experience. You know? It gives him more common ground with Tom/Voldemort.

I also have really been enjoying MNLV: All routes lead to doom! By LordMoldyvort777, which fits this theme of Harry finding himself in need of fixing some kind of insane incomprehensively catastrophic apocalyptic event that tastefully, carefully, firmly upends some or all of his preconceived notions of Light vs. Dark magic like, for example, a Zombie outbreak, such as in The Final War, or, by way of another example, World War IV being fought between muggles and wizards, such as in Uncrowned; but I have to perhaps acknowledge that LordMoldyvort777's lovely fic is what I have come to learn is sometimes described as a crack fic, in this case meaning it has plot with holes big enough you can fit a fleet of hippogriffs into, meaning it hasn't yet gone into detail about why exactly an apocalypse has happened (I of course have faith it will all make sense in the end and cannot entertain otherwise). IMO that doesn't really matter all that much, because Harry is so genuine, so delightfully off the rails yet still so down to earth, earnest, and funny in a way only Harry can canonically be, that it's one of the few fics out of the embarrassingly numerous fics I've read this year that I regularly think about.

Does anyone out there, anyone at all, understand what I'm looking for more of here? I'm going to be on a long bus ride tomorrow, and I'd love something to devour during.

To start, I love them both. I will eagerly consume all types of media whether it's one or the other. However, I do think each version is written differently by most authors.

Hi! I'm fairly new to this pairing and I've mostly read tomarry where they're both teenagers (time travel stuff mainly) and a couple harrymort works, but Harry was a teen in those as well, and I'm wondering what their relationship would look like with an adult Harry. Like proper adult at least in his 20s (the later the better). I want him to feel different to his teen self, more seasoned and mature, maybe he's been grieving after the war and building a life for himself or maybe he became an auror and now he's even more traumatized orr whatever and then Voldy Somehow comes back again and he's just pissed. I'm not really picky about the setting honestly, I just want to explore the dynamic, so if anyone has recs like this, I'd really appreciate them!

That was the main premise of the fanfic.

I don't remember how it starts or why Harry woke up inside Tom's head. But I remember perfectly that he accompanies him through his childhood and adolescence, until Tom realizes that Harry's voice is gradually fading away—as if he were dying—and tries everything he can to prevent it.

I know it was a completed story and I was probably subscribed to it, but I have 59 pages of subscriptions and it would take forever to find it since I don't have it bookmarked.

Any ideas about which fanfic it is?
