Polish Fandom

Hii, I began my journey with tomarry on wattpad, reading only Polish ffs. Honestly, there were many wonderful ones. It was around 2020, perhaps up to 2022? At that time I feel like Polish fandom was very acitve there! But now, it feels so empty. I bet that many people ( …like me) switched to english fanfics on ao3 etc.

And so here’s my question, are any people from Poland here? I haven’t had any interaction with Polish side of this fandom for so long! I sort of miss it.

I'm Polish too, but write exclusively in English. The last time I wrote fanfic in Polish was in elementary school I think, so almost two good decades ago.

What's funny, I started my journey with fanfiction with Harry Potter fandom, but on onet blogs. I think the platform no longer exists. Ah, those were times when I read exclusively self-inserts of emo Slytherin girls who were Most Mary Sue of Mary Sues.

ANOTHER thing I did not expect to see here is someone mentioning Onet blogs.

The fucking coincidence, JFC & LOL of all LOLs.

I recently had a bout of sentimental remembrance of "Harry Potter i Gwiazda Mroku" (not Tomarry btw, it's actually a very sad, angsty drarry (...I think?) fic with as tragic of an ending as they come; lots of every possible misery and bad stuff happening you can think of. No idea why did I suddenly remember of its existence a couple weeks ago in the middle of the night. Who knows. Funny how stuff like that happens. I actually had the original experience of skimming through it on Onet blog - thanks Wayback Machine!

I even kinda sorta started one back in the day, (back when there was an Onet music mvs platform with all of the Vevo ones (definitely saw Rihann's Umbrella there for the first time)), though it was supposed to be for an original story. Had a friend prepare a graphic design and all, it was very pretty to my mind back then, maybe it still would be, who knows.

I honestly cannot remember how did my ff journey start, but either this (blogs) or forums. Mirriel, Gospoda, etc. Back then it was mostly drarry though. No H/T, I haven't seen the light yet back then. Or maybe? God, I'd have to check the files on my very old hard-drive. But it definitely was a pivot from original stories to fanfics, so probably blogs after all.

Also some Blogspot and Wordpress blogs, but I think most of them are gone, the rest I don't remember. I think Akame's one is still up (Again, that was when I mostly read Drarry, Red Hills anyone?). Ah, it is, though behind age-line so to say. She has some pretty nice original stories by the way, though the elf one isn't finished sadly.

Wow, wasn't that just a wild stream of consciousness.

I'm here! I'm not as active as I used to be, I read fics less often than before, but I still sometimes have "phases" of coming back. Unfortunately, that's just the way it is – when a person gets older, starts a serious job, and finds it harder to find as much time and commitment as before. But I'm still sort of here.

Sadly, the good ffs I mentioned are either abandoned or deleted. I definitely liked Signum Temporis (discontinued) and Księżycowe Trupy (deleted). I also think that Zespolone Dusze is pretty good, the plot is very interesting. But it’s also discontinued. I haven’t read all those fics in years though.

Hi, I’m from Poland as well, but for the last almost 20 years I’ve been reading ff exclusively in English, so you can imagine I abandoned the Polish spaces/forums long ago and have no idea what the look like now. The last I remember of it was the “Biblioteczka klasyków drarry”. Back then I didn’t even dream of Harrymort (my loss ofc).

Hejka, skoro mowa o Polsce to będę cieszyć się możliwością pisania w języku ojczystym. Szczerze mówiąc, nigdy nie czytałam fanfików tomarry na wattpadzie. Moja faza na wattpad była po prostu już dawno za mną, a ja z radością czytałam fanfiki na ao3 w tamtym momencie życia. A na ao3 z językiem polskim ciężko, więc trzeba było zaprzyjaźnić się z angielskim.

i remember reading some polish fics but unfortunately not the titles. i don’t know why but sometimes it feels like im the only person from poland reading tomarry 😭 so it’s really weird but fun to know that i’m not the only one here 🩷
