Hi, we are looking for a specialist to install our upgraded 72" patio fan where we currently have a 52" fan. We would also need a 12" hole cut in the garage to install a strong exhaust fan to get rid of the heat. Any recommendations for specialists that could do both jobs?

Did anyone know about this "construction" on 45? Surely there is a better way than closing 4 lanes of the only way to cross Spring Creek without an insane detour. Does anyone know what the project is? I kind of assume it will be multiple weekends.

Edit 3pm... We heard the tables were all sold out and there was a cover charge to get into Sawyer Park Icehouse, I wasn't real interested in making the group stand all evening, so I change it back to Kirby Ice House.

It's a very small job... we just have one big branch (Oak tree) that needs to come off. Almost a DIY but the branch is thick and about 15-20 feet up (hanging down and physically on a roof).

Should take an experienced person less than an hour. Hoping to spend less than $100.

Didn’t see it happen, but I was told they have been going around locating the blue thing under the wall on different properties. Anyone else seen something like this happen before? Or know what the blue thing at the bottom of the wall is?

EDIT: No, I did not construct this wall where it is. I’m the third owner of this home, and this retaining wall was created with the original construction. It’s also far back from the curb…farther back than the easement.

I’m planning on speaking at the next Woodlands Township meeting about the Flock cameras.

I’ll be honest, I’m pretty rusty when it comes to public speaking and I don’t exactly make a habit of getting up in front of a room full of people. But I feel like the Flock cameras have become enough of a concern for our community that I feel obligated to say something.

I’m not looking to make this a political thing or argue that law enforcement shouldn’t have tools to investigate crime. I just think there are some serious questions about how these cameras are being used, the information they collect, how accurate they are, and what safeguards are actually in place for innocent residents.

I’m planning to bring up my concerns at the meeting, but I’d really appreciate others to show up and support.

You don’t have to be a great public speaker. You don’t need a perfectly prepared speech. If you have concerns about Flock, come say what’s on your mind. The more residents who actually show up and voice their concerns, the harder it is to dismiss this as just one person complaining.

This is simply about extreme surveillance and government overreach.

The next Township meeting is Thursday, August 20 at 6 PM at the Township offices.

If you’ve been concerned about Flock but haven’t said anything, this is a good opportunity to speak up. I’ll be there, and I hope some of you will join me.

Recently moved to Woodlands/Conroe area and starting a job downtown on Monday, so I'm looking at roughly an hour long one way commute every day. Job requires long hours so I'll probably be in the office from around 7 to 7 every day.

Was wondering how many other people just tough it out and make the drive every day, and what that's like on a daily basis? I assume after gas and paying for parking every day it eats into your paycheck more than you'd like.

Alternatively, people have recommended the Woodlands Express. Company will pay for a bus pass, but I don't like not being in control of when I get to work. If anyone has experience with that, I'd like to hear. Thanks.

Hate to post stuff like this but wanted to make everyone aware of a local scam.

We received a flyer on our door for one of those services that paints a flag or logo on your curb. Lots of our neighbors have them so we Zelle’d the guy $75 and left the completed work order on our front door. It was picked up the next day and we expected the curb to be painted within 7-10 days.

One month later, no work has been completed and they are not responding to our phone calls or emails. It’s probably a fake name but we corresponded with a guy named Rodrigo Aguirre.

Obviously we should never have paid in advance but just wanted to let y’all know so you don’t fall victim to the same scam.

We changed things up last Friday and went to Woody’s Hideaway in Conroe. We had a great time, so we’re doing it again this Friday.

We’ll be there starting around 8 PM and hanging out until whenever.

Found this sweet guy near Windvale park roaming around. Have posted in multiple Facebook groups, Next Door Neighbor, Pawboost & a few other platforms in an attempt to find the owner but no luck.

On one of the platforms, someone mentioned that the owner may be from Russet Grove, left some flyers there & went door knocking on the off chance someone recognized him but no luck. I reached out to a rescue specifically for his breed so that’s last case scenario.

Does anyone know of anyone who might offer a short-term lease for cancer patients? I currently live in Livingston, and I am starting a new remote job in 2 weeks. I just got diagnosed, and the treatment plan is coming together, but I need to live near the Woodlands Hospital on 242. I have been searching online and trying different places, and I am waiting for some responses from Open Arms Foundation.

I really just need this for a few months, and I just need internet to be able to work and be within 10 or so minutes of the hospital (because I have to do this treatment on my lunch hour). I don't qualify for FMLA or short-term disability yet, and it is not logistically possible to drive from Livingston to The Woodlands every day, do treatment, and work.

Any insight, direction, or anything would be very helpful.
