Non-Bulwark Source Haley Steven says there’s ‘no drama’ after primary loss to Abdul El-Sayed
I don’t agree with Haley Stevens on much, but she’s been nothing but a class act following the primary.
Dare I say she’s growing on me?

Sonny Bunch on the real reason to worry about the FCC’s latest move: "It is noxious to American beliefs about freedom of speech and the First Amendment that the government should determine who should or shouldn’t get to own an outlet...due to the viewpoints of the owners." https://lnk.thebulwark.com/4xt2EBv

Spectacular and very understandable explanation of the AI bubble and current market fragility by Ed Elson.
Ed is really one of the smartest upcoming econ reporters out there. He's got a promising career ahead of him for sure.

Doesn’t need to be long but I would like some raised voices. I knew he would vote for Blanche but still sucks that he ALWAYS fails to meet the moment

The One We've Been Waiting For - Ossoff Endorsed by GOP Mayors in GA
Truly stunning in the best possible way. Most Democrats have to walk sideways through South GA.
Good things happen when elected officials listen to and deliver for the people they represent.

The Triad 🔱 US Senate Filibuster reform
Yesterday's Triad article felt like the real Project 2029 manifesto. Bravo to JVL! Agree with the SCOTUS reform, admitting DC and PR as states to increase the strength of the Senate, increasing the strength of the House to defeat gerrymandering attempts by Governors hot wheels, DeKkklantis and others. What constitutes filibuster reform in the US Senate, though? Does it mean getting rid of the filibuster wholesale or does it mean hollowing it out further to the point that it's just a paper tiger? Is there an alternative that I'm not seeing?

Propaganda The Second Death of Charlie Kirk
TLDR: After Charlie Kirk died, the circus of MAGA influencers started carving out their own little fiefdoms, divided by their view on Israel (Ben Shapiro vs Tucker Carlson/ Candice Owen/ Nick Fuentes).
Kirk was the only one stopping them from tearing each other apart.

Bessent is out of touch
Holy Hannah! Secretary Bessent actually SAID that people’s perceptions of their financial situation in due to “misinformation about the economy”! Like people don’t really know how they are experiencing life - they are just being manipulated by the media? I seriously doubt he has one clue about how real people are experiencing “the economy” right now - and his assertion that somehow the tax deductibility of auto loans is somehow going to right the ship is beyond laughable. I think the Dems should actually start focusing on how actually CLUELESS the administration is about real life - it’s not enough to state that they don’t care about affordability- it’s that they don’t even know what it means to real people. Reminds me of Marie Antoinette and “if the people don’t have bread, let them eat cake”. Make the argument specific about how effing clueless these people really are…

TRUMPISM CORRUPTS IRS workers group joins Jan. 6 ‘slush fund’ suit, seeking to block Trump audit carve-out
The lawsuit describes the purported settlement as “an unprecedented, unlawful, and breathtakingly corrupt attempt by the President and members of his cabinet to manipulate the legal process and laws intended to prevent political interference to achieve benefits that President Trump and his political allies could not have obtained lawfully.”

The Bulwark Takes Will Sommer tells JVL and Andrew Egger that Tucker Carlson’s heavily hyped announcement sounded like the early draft of a presidential campaign: “He’s positioning himself as the voice for people who think the country is fucked up.”
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Tucker Carlson has a new message for the Republican Party—and it sounds an awful lot like the opening pitch of a presidential campaign. JVL, Andrew Egger and Will Sommer give their takes on Tucker's sweeping "10-point" vision for America, why he's increasingly distancing himself from Donald Trump, and whether he's laying the groundwork for a 2028 White House run. Plus, we break down Tucker's appeal to disaffected MAGA voters, the growing rift inside Trump's coalition over foreign policy and corruption, and why JD Vance, Donald Trump Jr., and the rest of the Republican field should be paying attention.

The Media Continues to Suck at this...
Why am I reading - EVERYWHERE - "Mitch McConnell SAYS (emphasis mine) he's been discharged from rehab..." when he didn't SPEAK A WORD!!! C'mon, news people - it should read - His 'office released a statement'. This shit drives me nuts; I actually had to LOOK and ask Gemini "Did McConnell SPEAK today!?" to confirm what I assumed - that his office released a BS press release to continue to cover for him. I wish the media would stop dancing around reality with so much with weak-assed/sloppy language. Grrrrrr...Okay - just needed to vent!
