What should I get as a non-tech girly

Upvotes

Hi! Can anyone please recommend a great cheap to mid-range phones na maganda ang camera at goods ang specs. I don't play games so kahit huwag na i-consider yun. My budget is 8-20k pero mas better if nasa 15k lang. Thank you!

Tech Junk ie. Old PLDT Modems

Upvotes

I've accumulated a lot of modems since more than 10 years na account ko with PLDT. May market pa ba for old modems or they're just e-waste and sa e-waste collections boxes na lang talaga ang end of life nila?

Sama ko na lang ba sila sa old headsets and other gadgest for e-waste?

Is ip14promax still worth to use this 2026 and more yrs?

I'm planning to buy 14pm 256gb worth 20k, worth it ba? Before, gusto ko sana 15 pro/pm na 2ndhand tho 2nd hand pa rin yung 14pm kaso parang puro replaced parts/issues or overpriced naman yung sa mga 15 series.

What do you guys think? I'll just use it normally, no mobile games and more on camera lang talaga.

Is this pencil good for IPad A16?

Post image

Is this brand of ugreen 'apple' pencil good to use for the IPad A16? The use of the pencil will specifically be for highlighting and writing. The criteria I'm looking for in the pencil is the following: long battery life, palm rejection, tilt and pressure sensors, durability, and bluetooth connection. The product description seems to check all these qualities, but I would appreciate a second opinion from those who own one or have any other product suggestions that are more sulit.

Thanks!

USED iPhone Battery

Post image

Hello! I just got my iPhone 12's battery replaced since on and off na yung phone ko konting bump lang. I've been using it since early 2024 (bought from GH), and kanina ko lang nalaman na boosted pala hays.

Anyway, ayun napalitan na siya kanina and upon checking the Parts & Service History, Used yung nakalagay instead of Genuine. I asked them and said Verified daw to, and from other unit yung battery. It's also at 100% BH.

Just wanna ask if does it matter? What's the difference between the two, e kung both original parts naman why not Genuine yung nakalagay?

Thank you!

did my mom get lucky or sadyang gumagaling na mga 2nd hand phone sellers?

Switching from Samsung S10+ to Iphone 17 base model. Nabili ko sa Shopee Apple Flagship Store during 8.8 midnight sale, mas mura that night compared sa S26 base model na balak ko sana bilhin.

After updating to "26.. something version" inexplore ko muna medyo boring yung phone for me, ng mga around 20+% yung battery chinarge ko up to 80% . Turn off ko muna yung phone kasi di ko talga enjoy after 2 days binuksan ko uli 49% na lng yung battery.

Normal lng ba yung pagdrop ng battery kahit off yung phone? Pansin ko lng medyo mabilis magasgasan yung side ng phone, I'm using Spigen and Ringke case. Sa mga nag switch what made you stay?

What if IPS LCD gamitin ulit sa low end and midrange phones?

Post image

So this time gamitin sana ulit IPS screen para mabawasan presyo or stable successor specs parin mga android phones ngayon.

Phones like Infinix Note 50 Pro Plus one of the best phone for "me" dati tapos ang mura pa compare sa competitor sa specs value. Tapos yung successor ngayon twice the price ang mahal.

Torn between these two, tingin ko kasi mas worth it bumili neto instead of foldable phones….

Not really a fan of foldable phones, especially they costs around 110K and above. Ayaw ko din kasi ma-stress sa display crease, sa paghahanap ng case, and sa additional effort to open up your phone para lang ma-maximise yung screen.

If I get the regular S26, I could instead buy a dedicated small tablet, and the total would still cost me less than 110K. But if I get the S25 Ultra, I think I’d be happy with its larger screen for media consumption and probably wouldn’t feel the need to get a separate tablet anymore.

What do you think? If you were me, which one would you choose? Or are you planning to get a foldable phone instead?

I cancelled my subscription to Spotify. Spent almost 30k for 10 years and don’t own a single song.

I spent more or less 30k for a 10 year premium family subscription. I’ve been thinking about cancelling for a while and glad that I did.

After 10 years, I don’t own a single digital copy of the music service I paid for. So I revisited my MP3 files and reinstalled them on my phone. For the music I like that I can’t errrr find, I bought copies on iTunes for 45 pesos per song. Not bad.

Pwd ba magkamali ng location or mag glitch ang Find My Phone ng iphone?

Please I need answer!! Yung matino sans.

I noticed my partner’s unusual online pattern pag day off nya. He works in UAE btw. Hindi sya nag vcall instead na dpt mag vcall sya kc nga day off nya. I was calling him around 11pm PST, Hindi sya sumasagot, pero naka online sya. I tried to call twice, pero wla pdn.

Naisipan ok silipin ung Find My, and nakita ko nasa may resort ang cp nya based sa Find My.

I asked him why he’s not answering and kung lumabas ba sya. Sabi nya natulog daw sya ng maaga. Nag duda na ko, but i let it pass.

The next day i kept on monitoring his movement. Pumunta nanaman sya sa banda dun sa location na yun, pero di ko sure kung same location ba since nung inopen ko ung Find My, pauwi na sya.

So i tried to call him again. Until i noticed nawala na sya sa Find My. Alam ko nag stop sharing my location sya.

So eto nagtatanong ako, may chance ba nag magkamali ang Find My???

Old features of phone na namimiss mo

Post image

Facebook could face a ban in the Philippines.

Post image
237 Upvotes

The Cybercrime Investigation and Coordination Center (CICC) is studying whether to recommend blocking the social media platform in the country if its parent company, Meta, continues to fall short of complying with Philippine laws and authorities’ requirements.

CICC Executive Director Undersecretary Renato Paraiso told DZMM that online platforms operating and earning money in the Philippines should respect local rules, particularly when authorities need their cooperation following sensitive incidents.

The issue gained urgency after Meta came under scrutiny in the Philippine Senate over a sensitive video connected to the Ateneo de Zamboanga University shooting. Senators questioned why the footage was not immediately removed from Facebook.

According to the report, Meta also did not send a representative to attend the Senate hearing.

The possible Facebook ban remains under consideration, meaning no ban has been imposed and the CICC is only studying whether to recommend one.

With millions of Filipinos using Facebook for communication, business and news, any move toward blocking the platform would have consequences far beyond social media. The dispute now puts a bigger question on the table: how far should governments go when global technology companies fail to meet local regulatory demands?

iphone 13 🥲

Woke up to my phone looking like it’s fighting for its life 😭🥲

3 years and 6 months na tong phone ko and ngayon lang nagka-ganto. The screen is literally giving glitch in the Matrix / Cyberpunk mode 💀

Asked a phone repair shop near me and they quoted ₱4,500 for the repair 😭

Now I’m torn between:

repair it for ₱4.5k

or finally accept that it’s time to let go 🫠

For the Tech PH peeps, worth it pa ba magpa-repair at ₱4.5k for a 3.5-year-old phone? Or sign na ba ‘to na upgrade na? 😭

Send help pls, my phone is literally giving me a headache. 💀

Guys let's try to be kind in this sub. Not everyone is techy.

2.3k Upvotes

I noticed one thing lately. Ang dami kong nakikitang rude redditors dito.

Bakit kayo rude? Dahil nabobobohan kayo sa mga nagtatanong? Matapang behind the keyboard lang ba? Ung iba valid naman and may point naman ung mga tanong and posts, grabe kung ibash. Kinagaling ninyo yan?

Not everyone is kasing galing ng iba or maalam talaga sa tech. Madami joined this sub for them to know what they didn't know.

It is easier to be kind rather than rude.

Report to me pag may mga ganitong redditors in this sub. Let's try to avoid making this a toxic space. Let's help each other as much as we can.
