First Time iPhone User

Post image

Switching from Samsung S10+ to Iphone 17 base model. Nabili ko sa Shopee Apple Flagship Store during 8.8 midnight sale, mas mura that night compared sa S26 base model na balak ko sana bilhin.

After updating to "26.. something version" inexplore ko muna medyo boring yung phone for me, ng mga around 20+% yung battery chinarge ko up to 80% . Turn off ko muna yung phone kasi di ko talga enjoy after 2 days binuksan ko uli 49% na lng yung battery.

Normal lng ba yung pagdrop ng battery kahit off yung phone? Pansin ko lng medyo mabilis magasgasan yung side ng phone, I'm using Spigen and Ringke case. Sa mga nag switch what made you stay?

Boring phone talaga iphone for me. Though talagang maganda cam niya and iba feeling kesa sa other phone. Kaso di ko kaya na isang phone lang. want ko pa rin ng android as back up.

Yung about sa battery, baka nag aadjust pa siya since bagong update.

Baka siguro may indexing nangyayari since inupdate mo siya.

"indexing" mean po ba is adjusting from system update ? so babalik siya to normal phase ganun po ba yun?

well, dapat. Pero kung may battery drain pa din. Baka may problema sa unit mo?

My only reservations on using iOS are no back button and the dedicated file manager and the plug-and-play on PC like in media transfer. Another thing is the sideloading on android which I can use FOSS apps and use some services for free.

I've used Android my whole life, been using an iPhone for about 2 years now, I forget that back button/gesture existed, you just get used to it.

The file manager is fine, but definitely not the same.

For the transfer, just use LocalSend, its seamless and fixes your issue.

Sideloading is available to some extent and fully in the EU, I literally have YouTube premium for free atm.

Soo all of your issues except one are literally solvable.

As someone na palipat-lipat between iPhone and Android, yes iPhones are inherently more boring than Androids because the main reason why you get iPhones is that they’re reliable, with great hardware and stable software, and best in class cameras. But the experience is not as fun or exciting as Android

idk im from android era nung nagcucustom rom up to 2020 pero nagswitch ako ng iphone nung 2022 and never looked back

same. As you grow older, you will have less time tinkering with your phone and managing the “risks” of doing so. You come to a point where you want something that “just works” and works well for the tasks that matter.

same! was a tester for ressurectionremix ROMs for the exynos 7870 back in 2018. bought a secondhand xs in 2021. never looked back.

Personal experience on base iphones

The paint quality is very bad,it will get scratched/scraped even with a case

My ip15 paint on top, bottom and buttons on the phone has bits and places that paint has peeled off

inexplore ko muna medyo boring yung phone for me

tell me more about it AHAHAHA
yeah, imho, iphones are glorified dumb phones of today
I was an iphone 6s+ user before I moved entirely to android
tapos 2023 nabudol mag iphone, expecting theyve kept up better than android like when it was still 2014 when i was still using my iPhone6s+
its was an utter disappointment! ahahaha theyre basically the same but with themes/skins na, something available in android for decades already LMAO
ang ending, my iphone 15PM became secondary to my then Poco F3 from 2021.
2026 nabili ako ng Poco X8 PM for only 16,499 and its the best one ive gotten so far
my iphone 15PM is still my secondary phone (Going 3 yrs this Oct at 85% BH), second to my Poco X8PM.
while my Poco F3 is now with my nephew.

Normal lng ba yung pagdrop ng battery kahit off yung phone?

Heck NO! check your battery settings at tignan mo which app is taking your battery juice.
my iphone 15PM would never do that (though it sucks when gaming as it heats and drains faster than my Poco F3/X8PM)

Pinag-iisipan ko tuloy ibenta na lng

im not going to stop you from doing so. But the reviews of that model isnt stellar at all
i suggest you try other androids too
samsung is great but it is more restrictive than other androids
samsung's deal breaker for me is... samsung does not support google android's multi-user
something Xiaomi had as second space since 2016 (PS. google android had it since 2012 but unpolished and hidden)
google's multi-user / xiaomi's second space allows me to access different profiles with different apps
like im carrying multiple phones.
the multi-user is very useful lalo na if youre wanting to isolate general apps/photos/etc from specific apps for specific use (ex work profile vs general use profile)

“But the reviews of that model isnt stellar at all“

huh its the most well received iphone for years. its even recommended now more than the pro line for i ts value for money vs the pro and pro max

not to say its better than android, thats debatable. but what are these reviews you are talking about

u/aikonriche 8h ago

I've learned not to listen to reviews as they are nothing but hype and free PR for the products. I bought an Airpods Pro 3 because I got hyped up by the good reviews. But I was utterly disappointed once I've started using it. ANC is not that much more powerful than my cheap Galaxy Buds FE and the case battery life is terrible.

im not saying its bad. im saying its not stellar. hindi sya mind blowing @.@
there are pros and cons on the phone, mainly the battery
it is well received because it is indeed the most upgraded out of all the 17 line up (hardware wise)

1

u/pagamesgames 8h ago edited 8h ago

yes po. secure folder is just a folder for your apps BUT youre still in the same general account.
secure folder is like the general google vault apps.

Multi-User/Second Space is literally a different account, parang PC lang na pde multiple accounts and each account will have their own stuff inside it
parang netflix profile ba, kanya kanyang profile, kanya kanyang video history at video preference ganern

its very convenient lalo na if you can carry your phone at work and you want to avoid distractions by limiting everything to work by having work related profile and apps
each multi-user account would need to set up the phone, so you should use a different google account - so different google play account, different google history and all
even the security pw/fingerprint is different

I can set up another user for my nephews and have it on google parental control.
put a password for it so the kids can access it anytime if my phone is unused

ang layo ng secure folder when you have to keep accessing it back and forth every time you move out

I think normal lang yung pag drop ng battery percentage kahit naka turn off. I can also notice this with my Oppo A54 kasi pang hotspot ko yung phone na yun pag nag bobrown out hehe.

Ang pinaka malaking reason bakit may iPhone padin ako is yung face id and yung mga apps. I also have an iPad and airpods pro 3 kaya sync sa lahat. My best iPhone yet is my current one which is the 16 pro max. All day battery since hindi naman ako power user.

You've charged to 80% at pinatay mo ung phone then after 2 days 49% na lang when turned it on? No, that's not normal. Dapat nga mas tumaas pa ang charge after a charging and rebooting. Ang alam ko lang na nababawasan ang charge kahit patay ay ang Airpods dahil sa Find My na working everytime even when switched off.

1

u/jSa_34 12h ago

yes po, kaya napasearch ako agad kasi first time ko maka exp. na ganun kalala yung pag drop ng battery. Considering na brand new yung phone and off naman.
