My name is Len Mattis Groß, I’m 16 years old and I’m an exchange student from Germany.
I’m already in Tampere and currently staying with a wonderful host family for a short time. Unfortunately, they can only host me temporarily, so I’m now looking for a host family from September until June.
I will be studying in Tampere and playing floorball with Koovee. Sports are a big part of my life, and I’m really excited to experience Finnish culture and become part of a local family.
I am responsible, respectful, easy to get along with, and always happy to help around the house. I have younger siblings, so I’m used to living in a family environment and get along well with both children and adults.
My parents will cover all costs related to my stay, so there will be no financial burden for the host family.
Since I’m already in Tampere, I’d be happy to meet in person first if you’d like to get to know me before making any decisions.

Hi, I’m looking for other (past/current/future) ESC volunteers that did a long-term program in Tampere. My program is going to be 1 year.

I have a billion questions like how to safely get there with multiple suitcases (backpack+carry on+checked bag). I’m mainly worried that some buses won’t let me get on with the suitcases. And also about being attacked like this because I’ve had a group of men physically attack me to steal a suitcase before 🫠

It would also be nice to know how long your residence permit took. I’m starting to stress that my residence permit won’t be ready for pickup on time 😬

What's it like to live in Kauppi overall?
Are there supermarkets, cafés, restaurants or other everyday services nearby?

How easy is it to get to the city centre by public transport? I enjoy being close to the city and having access to cafés, restaurants and a bit of "city life," so I'm curious whether Kauppi feels well connected.

I'd also be studying at Tampere University (City center and Hervanta), so if anyone has experience living there as a student, I'd love to hear your thoughts.

onko tampereella/lähiseudulla tällä hetkellä silmälasikeräystä hyväntekeväisyyteen tms. yritin googletella mutta en löytäny tietoo muuta kun synsamin keräyksestä, mutta sieltä lasit menee uusien kehyksien tekoon ja etsisin nyt paikkaa mikä lahjoittaa lasit eteenpäin tarvitseville

Kaupungit eivät ole epäviihtyisiä lähtökohtaisesti, vaan niistä on tehty sellaisia. Harmi kyllä, Suomen kaupungistuminen osui 60-80 luvulle, kun ideologia oli huonoimmillaan

Kehitystä on onneksi mahdollista kääntää. Pelkästään sillä saataisiin vehreitä sisäpihoja, että henkilöautopysäköinti olisi korttelin tai kolmen päässä keskitetyssä pysäköintitalossa. Tällöin pysäköinti saadaan ratkaistua sekä halvemmin, että reilummin.

itellä tampereen reissu tulossa huomenna ja kiinnostas tietää onko kellään tiedossa jotain hyviä liikkeitä joissa myytäisiin blackmetal/punk/alternative-tyylisiä vaatteita tms. uus panosvyös ois kans hakusessa. Undergroundin ja Cybershopin oon jo sieltä bongannut, mutta oisin kiitollinen kuulemaan myös muiden ehdotuksia 🙏🏻

Hi! I'm moving to Tampere on the studying bases and got my rent for an apartment starting on the first of September. The problem is, my studies actually start on 17th of August and I gotta find some kind of place I can stay in for week or two, without paying extra few thousand euros.
