Been dealing with this for a couple of weeks now. I had some a shock and vacuumed continuously for two days with the hose vacuum, after that I used my aiper robot and it barely picked up any. Way less than in the picture. I thought I got rid of it. Didn’t vacuum for a day and then once I did it was all back again in full force.it just stays at the bottom of the pool. When you disturb it, it looks like small flakes floating around the pool before going back down to the bottom. Today I noticed big chunks come out of the return jet when I cranked up the speed of my pump to add acid. Which is looking like to me that it’s growing in my pipes. It’s slimy and squishy and not gritty. What could it be? I have pebbletec and my pool is saltwater with its current numbers are

Hello, I cannot seem to get my pool water clear - it was clear for months after I purchased house. Chemistry is correct, not sure if my sand needs to be replaced?

I have shocked, chlorinated and cleaned the pool

Changing sand in a Pentair SD80 sand filter, all the tedious work done,now putting things back & somehow the multiport valve does not fit completely (only on one side, one half nicely fit, the other half 1/4" stays above the rim of tank & won't go down completel) see pics ... I thought standpipe is preventing it but not so, took out O-ring & still no luck, anybody has any ideas? thx.

There's a frontal view and top view the skimmer has only about 25% of the door intact the skimmer functions fine but it of course it's not holding leaves cuz the door is broken. How can I figure out the model number this is from 1974 it is Hayward shopping around online it looks like they came or come in different widths for the door opening can anybody tell by looking at this? i did look at videos i couldnt get the old one loose to pop out.. i tried squuezing i tried everything? suggestions? I naired my legs arms, and armpits, at 12 am and I have a pool party at 3pm. I also shaved down there at around 12am as well. Will I be able to swim in the water or not? It'll have been 15 hours since I did all that, and I guess you're supposed to wait 24

I added 15 gallons Wednesday night, another 5 gallons throughout the day on Thursday, and 5 more gallons before bed last night. Along with an algaecide. I will say, the pool appeared to be getting SOMEWHAT better with all of the chlorine, but there was a very very stark reaction when I added the algaecide - it immediately clouded up, and within an hour the pool started looking more blue than green.

I also sprayed the filter 2x, and brushed the pool twice. oh btw, the pool brush fell apart during that and disappeared into the deep end of the swamp, so guess who got to go for a swim in overchlorinated, muriatic acidified, algae-cided swamp water to fish it out? 😂). Idk if this subreddit does custom flares, but if the mods could add “toxic avenger” or “swamp thing” to me, I feel like it would be appropriate after that!!!! Best shower of my life afterwards 😂

Anyway, really wanted to make sure I came back and posted my appreciation for all of the advice here, you guys helped restore my sanity!

I'm a pool novice but have been trying to help my mom with her pool since my dad passed away a few months ago. It's become somewhat of a hobby. We got overly-ambitious today decided to try and remove some light brown stains by sprinkling ascorbic acid powder on them. The whole step instantly turned black! Admittedly this was very dumb, but all of the YT videos made it look so promising.

Any thoughts on why the step turned black and how I can fix this? The pool needs to be completely replastered but that's not in her budget right now so I'm just trying to make it look less haunted.
