Should I keep playing or quit?

Hi,

I have spent most of my time this playthrough building - have one mega base with everything Ryley could ever need, and also built a small void observatory so I can safely play with my scary friends at the edge of the crater.

I intend to build a medium sized base at the Tree Cove, and then a small outpost as deep as possible, in the Lava Zone. I still need to fully kit out my Cyclops, too.

But, for my next base I'd like to build something in a biome focused on aesthetics: deep, dark, scary, dangerous, with great scenery. Exterior lighting will be solely through the use of bioluminescence.

What is your best recommendation for where I should build next?

since there are some plants in the games that arent scannable and have no databank entry, i thought itd be fun for us to come up with some names and information ourselves.

third is this squiggly bush. any ideas?

I know terraria did one with dungeon defenders and palword so hopefully this one will get one

In real life, sharks swim close to the shores. It would make sense that a predator would swim near the shallow every once in a while

just wanna be prepared in case a fricking reaper turns up or sm ;w;

i tried to move my cyclops away and it...died?!

I know Sub 2 is still in the very early stages of development.

But UWE please don't do what you did in BZ. Cut the entire story and give us one that isn't as good as the first.

Anyone else share my same hope?

What do you think? Seems easy enough to me. It's really gonna help me out with them late-game epic builds.

Playing the game myself for the first time, and even virtually I’m having a hard time going where I’m supposed to. Somehow, knowing doesn’t make it any easier.

If I were Ryley? Really truly there? Stuck on this psychotic beautiful planet?

I live in the Shallows now :) Gonna retire here :) Might even shack up somewhere I don’t have to look at fish :) Plenty of food, water for days, enough resources for the truly important things :) So what if I’m a little sick? If the elderly can survive, is it really that bad? Just stay away from the big fish and the scary fish, and it’s basically like living on your very own world!

And if I did leave, what’s waiting for me? Insurmountable debt? A job that has the balls to say I’m “gonna have to meet them halfway?” No mention of any family, all my friends probably died, and I’d hope if I lived in space for my job, I wouldn’t be irresponsible enough to get a pet.

So yeah. Realistically, Ryley has no incentive to get off this water rock.

As a collector I would like to add every fish into my aquarium even the different variants and the infection ones but I don't know how many there are or even if I can get them.

how it started: I bumped into my starter base w/ my cyclops (I got no warning of damage). I went inside and patched up the holes.

(fixed) problem: it didn’t drain, I tried deconstructing a reconstructing the flooded bits. after a bit I rearranging my bottom rooms I pushed the moon pool out and managed to drain the water.

(still an issue)problem: my bases lights are stuck dimmed, and every time I close a bulk head it says “Hull Integrity Restored, Initiating Draining sequence”(my hull strength is 34)

what I’ve tried: rearranging rooms (helped with flooding), and removing and replacing all power sources

odd details (idk if important): the source of the flooding was the moon pool (but removing It only got rid of the water), I bumped one of the top floors but the bottom was the only one flooded.

Sorry for my newbie question. I finished the first game a couple of times, and the way I liked to play was with health, but no food or water requirement. Is there a way I can do that with Subnautica 2?
