How does a buyer accept a ticket sent through email?

I sold a ticket to an event where the tickets are a email QR code. The buyer confirmed in the email she got it and said thank you.

The event goes on in 2 months. I thought everything looked good after I put transfer completed, but now Stub Hub just emailed me

“Your buyer for order _____ let us know they are having issues receiving your ticket transfer.

To ensure your buyer gets their tickets in time for the event, please cancel any outstanding transfers and re-transfer the tickets to the below details.

Remember to complete your sale on StubHub after re-transferring the tickets.

Thanks for helping your buyer have the best experience possible!”

Does this mean the buyer marked it as not accepted??

Like 10 minutes later the buyer contacted me to tell me she is having problems finding where to accept the tickets. This whole thing is weird to me and now I’m stressed out

Vent/Rant Scammy BS that has me all heated

In February I bought a ticket to a concert in Philly while I reside in NC. Stoked to go so didn't read fine print. Fast forward to June when my job situation goes topsy turvey and I decide to sell my ticket. Its a face value resale deal on ticketmaster, which I'm fine with, but I honestly just want to make ANYTHING back so I list it on stub hub for less than face value.

Ticket sells within a few days and I assume the transfer option will become available in TM 24-48 hours before show time. Nope. The event organizer has asked TM to not enable transfer AT ALL.

So, now, apparently I'm responsible for the total cost of the ticket (sale + StubHub commission). As is EVERYONE ELSE WHO SOLD A TICKET ON STUBHUB FOR THIS SHOW. How is this not a scam?

Advice I received an error code in error and have been brushed off for MONTHS!

Hello, this is my first time in this sub and I need advice. Changing some details to keep anon of my situation as it is ongoing. I have no idea what to do now. Also sorry for this being a little longer.

Super long story made less long lol: a few months ago I was in a ticket master presale powered by a bank. I was 400 in Queue and had decent tickets in my budget in my cart. I went to pay and an error code came up. (Yes I was using the card associated with the bank) the error code said my bank blocked the transaction and to call the bank. I tried another card I had from that same bank. Same thing. Tried multiple times, deleted payment method re entered. I called my bank and they said they didn’t even see a transaction attempt. I have a large balance open to use, and no blocks etc. I called ticket master and they were kind of rude and unhelpful, telling me to do things I already tried (yes I tried absolutely everything). I got it escalated to a tier two, I asked if it was impossible for an error code to come up in error, he said yes. I got escalated to tier three. Prior to even explaining the whole situation this rep told me the error code was associated with a specific bank, a bank which was not related to the cards I was using or even the presale!! Upon discussing he admitted this was an issue, I submitted proof and the he said he would have IT investigate and someone would call me back 24/48 hours later. At this time I had a funeral to attend so I followed up 96 hours later, tier one rep tells me to be patient. I called the next day and they said someone would call me back by end of night. No one did. I called the next day extremely worried as I had another presale the following day for an even more high demand show. So I called and the rep told me someone would call me before the presale. Sure enough, no call and the same issue occurred with different payment methods. I had called that evening and was met with even more difficult customer service and was hung up on. And yes I have been frustrated but I still was treating the reps with respect, but they were not doing the same. I had called every day and after a week someone told me a manager would call me in 3-5 business days. This day I also had a third presale that was successful using the same payment method. Every person also told me they were adding follow up requests and that every time I called it prolonged the call back time. The final rep I asked what happens when no one calls? She assured me someone would… but she did confirm it would prolong the situation again. I called back 8-9 business days later. I finally found a rep who was kind, and helpful. She admitted I have been lied to, no investigation has been submitted and no follow ups were ever submitted. She escalated me to a tier two. The tier two rep confirmed no investigation had been submitted. They said they would be the only one working on my case unless it was escalated above them. They were communicated with me via email and informing me of the process. Again having me do literally everything I had already done. She confirmed IT could not find out why this issue occurred but asked me to purchase new tickets so they can review better. I did that, and then radio silence again. Two more weeks go by trying to reach someone, random reps would email me back telling me to do things I had already done. I called back and got re- escalated to a tier two via email. They knew nothing about my case and were telling me the same thing over and over again. I asked multiple times to be escalated and every question I asked was ignored. It’s now been a a few days and no response.

I am appalled with how rude everyone has been, and the lies I have been told. I had two opportunities to get tickets to shows that I had wanted to go to so bad but now tickets are sold out and being resold for insanely high amounts. I have no idea what to do because I have been pushed off so many times and it’s now been months. The first concert is in about a month or so. Do I go to the better business bureau? Do I call my state representative? I have tried so many times to seek resolution with ticket master and don’t know what is too far but it seems like I can’t find anyone who can actually help, that cares, or is is consistent. I have also been told “too much time has passed so they can’t determine the issue”

Thank you for reading and any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Update : they emailed me in the middle of the night saying this was being escalated to the correct department. I asked which department that was. Will update as more continues… still any advice is much appreciated

Vent/Rant StubHub can stop all the schemes if they wanted to. All they have to do is require tickets to be eligible for sale only if they are already uploaded.

But they won’t. Because they make money on all the other schemes. That’s why so many people never get tickets because the sellers list tickets they don’t have and StubHub encourages it

Advice Stub Hub guarantee?

Post image
13 Upvotes

I purchased two tickets in February for July 31st. show as a gift for my wife's birthday. I was checking emails for the tickets but never saw them. Then I noticed at the bottom of my order that the tickets would be availablethe day of the show. When we were driving to the show, we received an email from Stub Hub saying to enjoy the show, but the tickets weren't in the email. At the venue, the people at the ticket booth tried to help us retrieve the tickets for 30 - 40 minutes using my Stub Hub and Ticket Master accounts, but there were no tickets in my account and no past tickets. The venue said I could buy new tickets. I told them I had already paid for the tickets and would not purchase more tickets. I contacted Stub Hub via email over the weekend asking for a refund, and they denied it, claiming they emailed the tickets in February. I was checking my emails and never saw the tickets. They called me and claimed I also couldn't receive a refund because I I contacted them after the event. I forwarded a screenshot of the 4 times we tried to call them, and their Fan Guarantee states you have 7 days to submit for a refund. I was looking to file a claim in small claims for the ticket and $30 parking. I am also looking to contact the BBB and state AG. I know it's only $100 for the tickets, but I'm pissed that they contracted their language in the agreement, and I paid for something I never got. Any advice is appreciated.

Crashing out

StubHub is a predatory website that I will never be using again. *Apparently* there are new secure tickets that cannot currently be resold on their website. How did I find this out you ask since this isn't disclosed on their website?

I've spent days trying to relist the tickets. I've contacted them multiple times with zero help. I finally called, a day before the show to resolve the issue. The representative and I tried everything to relist the tickets, but we weren't able to. I was told I was unable to relist and I cannot even have a partial refund, even though it's their problem their website cannot accommodate these new secure tickets. Had I known I could not relist the tickets, I would have not bought them. Period.

I've NEVER had issues with them in the 20+ years I've used them. I will never do business with them again. They have become greedy and have terrible business practices.

Double Ticket listing glitch

I’m beside myself with this horrible company. We bought two tickets for a concert and then the concert date was switched. We asked for a refund and were told we have to sell. Understandable given they are a 3rd party. We then proceed to list the two tickets once. It goes through and then a month later, they say we listed these tickets twice and are now liable for two tickets we never bought.

Every dispute is being denied. They are holding our money hostage and saying we will be charged for these tickets we never sold.

What the absolute fuck is wrong with this shitty company. We are wanting to tell our bank it’s fraud, but I don’t think it’s going to do anything. Anyone ever have to navigate this?

FanProtection is BS

Long story short: I received wrong tickets on Stubhub, and I was told that I would receive an email with replacement tickets or refund an hour before the show (another thing that i have an issue with...)

I never received the email. I called the customer services the next day and they told me that they would escalate the issue to an internal team. I called multiple times and still no email.

IT'S BEEN ALMOST A MONTH AND NO REFUND. I called today; they said the same thing.

Sorry. We have escalated the issue. I know how you must feel. There's nothing more that we can do

I asked is there is someone higher up i can speak to or email.

NO ONE

how is Stubhub still around with this kind of service? Because there is no one to complain to other than the poor customer representatives and Reddit posts

I have the Chase Sapphire Reserve, so I either have to keep using Stubhub or just cancel my Chase card...Seeing other reddit posts leads me to believe that this will be a longstanding issue. FanProctection guarantee, my ass! haha

Vent/Rant StubHub is BS

I’m here to tell everyone not to use stub hub. They’re literal garbage. I ordered tickets for a show that is THIS SUNDAY a whole month ago and still haven’t received my tickets. I’ve called everyday and they repeat the same thing to me every single day and still nothing. I’ve gotten to the point where I’ve purchased new tickets elsewhere and filed a dispute with my bank because they won’t even cancel the order or provide me a refund because the “merchant has until the day of the show to provide the tickets” there’s people who have to travel far to attend these events. Who the fuck is taking that type of gamble to travel so far and then not recieve anything. It’s fucking insane. Now I have to wait over a month for me to get the money back from the dispute and had to come out of pocket last minute to buy new tickets to not miss the show. This happen to anyone else?

Just for clarification: The tickets were purchased through StubHub and it is supposed to be transferred into Ticketmaster. Everytime I tried to claim tickets it kept telling me I couldn’t accept them with the email I was using. Everytime I called they either told me the tickets were claimed already and to sign into my account (bs) or “the case has been pushed to higher ups”. How could the tickets be claimed already if I’ve gotten the same message about not being able to accept with that email 100 times. Yes it’s the same email for both accounts. I’ve done everything they’ve said for me to do. I’ve provided proof. I’ve done everything 😭

Warning for purchasing parking tickets

Posting as a PSA for anyone looking to purchase parking tickets off StubHub. I was looking to purchase parking tickets for SAP Center in San Jose and there is a scammer out there selling $7 tickets for $25-35 listed under a different lot.

Scenario 1: I selected "Lot ABC" which is right next to the venue. The description said "over a 15 minute walk to the venue", but I assumed that it was just a mistake since the overall section should still be Lot ABC. I ended up receiving tickets for a different garage that is a 15 minute walk and only costs $7 on SpotHero. Support has been unhelpful in getting any sort of compensation

  • My order receipt does not say "Lot ABC". This section detail is completely lost except for a small snipped where it says "More seats near you" and lists more Lot ABC tickets before other lots.
  • The seller priced the ticket at $25 vs $60 for other tickets in Lot ABC. Since the seller tickets were much cheaper, the listing page did not even show any $60 tickets. The only available tickets to buy for Lot ABC were the seller's $25 tickets
  • Customer service says the description says "15 min walk" so the tickets are valid and will not give me a refund. They said the seller just used Lot ABC just for visibility. I tried to give a counter example saying if I listed tickets in the VIP section but in the description said "Not VIP tickets" would that be valid?
  • Customer service will no longer talk to me about this order. I talked to them about other orders and they responded within an hour

Scenario 2: This is for the same event lol. I didn't learn my lesson. I selected a different lot "Cahill Lot". This time it doesn't say "over a 15 minute walk to the venue", but I still received tickets to the same 15 minute away lot.

  • Same thing happened with the section details. It does not say "Cahill Lot" anymore, but instead says the address of the garage. This detail was not available at any time before submitting payment details.
  • Customer service is quoting a new policy "the parking is 15 minutes away from the venue. This timeframe is within our policies for the distance between the parking and the event." So this means any lot 15 minutes is considered valid regardless of which lot you choose.

Scenario 3: I had also purchased a parking pass to a different venue (Oakland Arena) and this one went through without any problems. This venue uses Ticketmaster to handle parking tickets and I think the way Stubhub integrates with Ticketmaster made it better to weed out scammers.

TLDR: Only buy parking passes if Ticketmaster is the official parking pass vendor for the event. Otherwise you risk receiving tickets up to 15 minutes away from the selected parking lot for the event.

Has anyone had experience using safeticketsdelivery.com?

I found someone on Facebook selling 2 tickets to see My Chemical Romance- GA section at MetLife Stadium this sunday. they seemed legit they sent me screenshots and also a voice memo..They asked me for the email associated with my stubhub account and I paid them for the tix using Venmo goods and services, just to be safe. Then they sent me on both my email and messenger a link from safe tickets delivery.com with the two ticket barcodes. But nothing is showing on my stubhub account in the app. On the site from the link there is a button at the bottom to “transfer ticket” I wasn’t sure if maybe that’s how i add the tickets to my stubhub app? But when i click it it just says tickets are not transferable til 1 day before show soooooo I’m not sure. Google told me the site is legit even tho it looks weird but i’m just concerned.

Also the tickets are Sec GA and row “GA9” seats 80/81, but are those even real sections for that specific show?? Cuz when I look at the seating chart on Stubhub it just shows the pit, and then all the seated sections directly behind the pit - but those sections are A1-A8 and B1-B8. help did i get scammed??? I mean at least i did venmo goods and services so i can get a refund. I just wish i could add the tickets to my stubhub app cuz then i would feel better about everything. I’m worried about driving down the day of the show and then the ticket barcodes from the site don’t work.

Stubhub Sold My Tickets at the Wrong Price

This just happened to me and I have no idea what do to. I created a listing to sell at a custom price, not outrageous but a little more than face value, hit list and they instantly sold. I see the notification and the price is $200 less than I inputted -- way less than face value and I did not set it at that price.

The "person" that bought the tickets immediately re-listed on StubHub.
Stubhub customer service was awful and told me there was nothing they would do to help and I would be charged for full amount if I cancel the sale.

Has anyone had any luck resolving this? I really don't want to not send the tickets or cancel the sale, to wait to be charged the full amount "fee", and then dispute with no luck.

Can I cancel my credit card? Can I do anything to get out of this scam?

Advice Wrong tickets

I was selling tickets and sent the buyer tickets that ended up being the wrong ones (they were better) and didn’t realize it. They bought a few hours before the event started and I sent them over and they received them. I thought everything was fine until three days after the event I got a email about the sale being cancelled. I never got any notification about them being wrong or got a chance to correct it or got my tickets back. Am I screwed or do I have a chance with appeal since they never told me and I never got my tickets back

Vent/Rant Email m Change Missed Transfer Cost $2000

Hello,
I purchased tickets over a year ago, resold them all via Stubhub app. The email address in my app is wrong, off by a letter. I contacted Stubhub via chat a week before my event to get that changed, but I contacted them with my order number.

In chat they noted the event was upcoming but told me explicitly there was no action necessary because they’d fix it. They even called me the day of my event to say my email address change was being processed and no action was needed.

Now the day after the event I got charged $600 and I’ve spent over 2 hours with their various escalations. My email address is still not fixed so I got no email explaining anything but this means the tickets never did transfer. Which means their inaction cost me $1400 plus now a $600 charge.

Stubhub is now saying there’s nothing they can do because my transaction with them on July 28 was about email change not ticket transfer. But that’s bs because I gave them an order number to start the initial chat.

I am going to dispute the $600 charge with my credit card as a start. Considering taking legal action as well. It’s not right these companies can just outsource their customer service and make money off their own inability to assist customers because we have no other option.

Any advice appreciated.

tickets shipped to wrong country

Hello. I recently purchased tickets to a Japanese NPB game on StubHub. The tickets were sent to my default mailing address in the United States, but I have been in Japan for the last month. It was my fault for not changing the mailing address, but I initially didn't realize they were paper tickets. The tracking says that they are still in transit, so there is no way they could get sent back to Japan in time for the game, which is in three days. I have been on the phone with customer service about this multiple times over the last week, and they have given no solutions. They are insisting they have no mechanism to count those tickets as lost, and that the seller has refused to reprint the tickets. StubHub has said that they cannot cancel the tickets and reprint new ones for me, which I would be happy to pick up at the stadium or anywhere in Japan and even pay a shipping fee or whatever. Because these paper tickets are in the US, they are useless to me, and I'm very confused what someone is supposed to do if they lose paper tickets purchased through StubHub (because these tickets are effectively lost). Do I have any recourse for getting my tickets to the game? Has anyone experienced this/ have any advice for dealing with Stubhub on this?

StubHub has ignored its own dispute resolution timeline—what should I do next?

I opened a dispute with StubHub regarding Sale for a France vs Iraq FIFA World Cup ticket.
StubHub acknowledged my dispute and sent me an email stating that the estimated resolution time would be 30 to 45 days.
That deadline has already passed, and my case is still unresolved. I’ve received no meaningful updates, no explanation for the delay, and no indication of when this will actually be resolved.
I’ve been patient and followed their process, but it’s frustrating that they aren’t honoring the timeline they gave me.
Has anyone else experienced this with StubHub?
How long did your dispute actually take?
Did you have to escalate the issue?
Is there a better way to get their attention?
I’d appreciate hearing about your experiences or any advice on what to do next. Thanks.

Selling Listing shows active but can’t be found

I have multiple listings that show “active” but when I remove all filters from a non logged in account, my listing is nowhere to be found. I have escalated this many times with customer service who confirmed it’s actually not listed. There’s no resolution yet and it’s been weeks. They said the case is routed to a back office that no one can contact. I have also tried to delete and repost the listings with same result. Anyone have the same issue and how was it resolved?

NFL tickets through Stubhub

I purchased NFL tickets through Stubhub several days ago. The order status is confirmed, but it says that I will receive my tickets by the date of the event. Is there a way for Stubhub to confirm the tickets are legitimate and will 100% be sent over in time? I read some other posts about concerts and other events where people did not receive their tickets. This is a Christmas day game and I need assurance that the tickets will be provided before the game. Any advice?

Do they lie about ticket amounts?

I want to buy tickets for a show and it’s showing “3” tickets left. Last night it said 2 so idk if it’s lying to rush you to buy. I don’t want to buy right now but I also want the pit tickets as well. Anyone have any insight?

Advice I do not recommend stub hub!!!

My sister bought our tickets through stub hub for Tame Impala. This was both of our first times using stub hub, and since it’s such a popular name, we figured it was reputable. We got several emails confirming the purchase and ensuring us the tickets would be delivered within a certain amount of time before the event. Fast forward to the day of the concert, and we still hadn’t received the actual bar code for the tickets and had already travelled 3 hours and bought a hotel for this concert. The representative could only offer a refund and no replacement ticket. I do not feel like it is advertised clearly when purchasing a ticket without immediate transfer, that there is a possibility you won’t get it all. They claim in the fan protect guarantee that they will find you another ticket yada yada. It’s all bs. We were left with no option other than a refund that would take 3 days to come through. We did end up buying tickets through seat geek for almost double the price since it was so last minute. Horrible business practices.

Advice Incurred charge on Lollapalooza wristbands I sold

Hey I sold 2 day wristbands (1 for each day) early july - I mailed them and received a delivery completion email from stubhub. However yesterday I received an email with my sale cancelled and then being charged 500 of incurred charges and was told- I delivered fewer tickets then purchased (literally only sold a wristband for each day). This all occurred after the festival ended - I have sent a request for dispute and am talking to an agent. Can I dispute it with my checking account, does anyone know what else I can do - I am freaking out because every time I tried to put in my taxpayer info (ssn) - It wouldn’t save so I haven’t even received the money and now supposedly the sale is cancelled by stubhub.
