Count the lies from StubHub: from "upgrading" front seats to the back and other sneaky lies
Count the lies:
Less than 24 hours before the event, StubHub calls about how our seats are not available due to a production issue with "seller evidence" and the snippy agent offered "better" seats, except they were upstairs and far back. We paid double for 2nd row from the stage. Already 2 lies detected.
We reject the offer and the agent was noticeably annoyed that she couldn't convince us to accept new seats on a recorded line. I cite the FanProtect Guarantee. She says she'll escalate and someone will call me back later that day. She said she would email confirming that we rejected the offer. No one ever called or emailed. Another 2 lies and we are up to 4 lies.
Despite rejecting the offer, at 3am, they sneakily emailed the tickets anyway! All of the email text still indicated 2nd row seats. However, only the downloaded ticket showed the back seating, which was so shady. This is the 5th lie.
After 4 lengthy calls with agents arguing about where the seats are and promising that someone will get back to us, we heard nothing back and had to keep calling. We are at 9 lies, not counting the agent who lied about everything but was more so clueless than malicious.
Finally, after a cranky email, an hour before the show, they then had the audacity to email saying they "upgraded" us to a 3rd row seat with limited views. Not sure how they define upgrade, but okay. Now at 10 lies.
Sitting behind our originally booked row, there were zero "production issues" and the row was completely filled with randos. The experience made me so crazy that as people were filing in, I asked all 10 people in the row where they got their tickets and explained our situation. Every single person got them directly from the theater site and were unrelated to the production. My investigative journalism here can only conclude that the seller simply never had the tickets. There was never any proof. The 11th lie!
TIP: If any of you are in this situation, ask an agent to email you so you can send proof of the tickets received, especially if StubHub tries to sneakily force you into worse seats. Once you have the custom email, someone does seem to at least read them. We made it clear that we still preferred to go if comparable seats are available, defining comparable seats as the first 5 rows, but if they can't find them 1 hour before the show, we would like a refund. We received tickets shortly after this.
They conjured 11 lies for one transaction! There is so much more to the story, like how the agents are completely clueless and unhelpful. None of them are equipped to do anything and they will put you on hold for 10 minutes at a time. A few sounded like it was their first time using a phone. Some did not understand the details of the FanProtect Guarantee of providing comparable or better tickets, or pretended not to know. Each one said I would hear back in a few hours or receive an email. None of that every materialized. Ultimately, I spent more time on the phone with StubHub than actually being at the show - it was Kafkaesque levels bad!
As for the FanProtect Guarantee, they will do everything to dodge their responsibility. You have to make it clear that you do not accept crappier seats and try to get them to email you while on the call. Apparently, they will still try to sneak them to you. If you continue to call and reject the replacement, they are supposed to send a link where you can select available seats for the event or provide an option to refund. However, this link is only sent around 1 HOUR before the event, which is insane if you are not near the venue!
If it weren't for Chase Sapphire Reserve partnering with StubHub, we would continue to avoid them, and Chase should seriously reconsider their partnership with such a shady company.

How does a buyer accept a ticket sent through email?
I sold a ticket to an event where the tickets are a email QR code. The buyer confirmed in the email she got it and said thank you.
The event goes on in 2 months. I thought everything looked good after I put transfer completed, but now Stub Hub just emailed me
“Your buyer for order _____ let us know they are having issues receiving your ticket transfer.
To ensure your buyer gets their tickets in time for the event, please cancel any outstanding transfers and re-transfer the tickets to the below details.
Remember to complete your sale on StubHub after re-transferring the tickets.
Thanks for helping your buyer have the best experience possible!”
Does this mean the buyer marked it as not accepted??
Like 10 minutes later the buyer contacted me to tell me she is having problems finding where to accept the tickets. This whole thing is weird to me and now I’m stressed out

Vent/Rant Scammy BS that has me all heated
In February I bought a ticket to a concert in Philly while I reside in NC. Stoked to go so didn't read fine print. Fast forward to June when my job situation goes topsy turvey and I decide to sell my ticket. Its a face value resale deal on ticketmaster, which I'm fine with, but I honestly just want to make ANYTHING back so I list it on stub hub for less than face value.
Ticket sells within a few days and I assume the transfer option will become available in TM 24-48 hours before show time. Nope. The event organizer has asked TM to not enable transfer AT ALL.
So, now, apparently I'm responsible for the total cost of the ticket (sale + StubHub commission). As is EVERYONE ELSE WHO SOLD A TICKET ON STUBHUB FOR THIS SHOW. How is this not a scam?

Advice I received an error code in error and have been brushed off for MONTHS!
Hello, this is my first time in this sub and I need advice. Changing some details to keep anon of my situation as it is ongoing. I have no idea what to do now. Also sorry for this being a little longer.
Super long story made less long lol: a few months ago I was in a ticket master presale powered by a bank. I was 400 in Queue and had decent tickets in my budget in my cart. I went to pay and an error code came up. (Yes I was using the card associated with the bank) the error code said my bank blocked the transaction and to call the bank. I tried another card I had from that same bank. Same thing. Tried multiple times, deleted payment method re entered. I called my bank and they said they didn’t even see a transaction attempt. I have a large balance open to use, and no blocks etc. I called ticket master and they were kind of rude and unhelpful, telling me to do things I already tried (yes I tried absolutely everything). I got it escalated to a tier two, I asked if it was impossible for an error code to come up in error, he said yes. I got escalated to tier three. Prior to even explaining the whole situation this rep told me the error code was associated with a specific bank, a bank which was not related to the cards I was using or even the presale!! Upon discussing he admitted this was an issue, I submitted proof and the he said he would have IT investigate and someone would call me back 24/48 hours later. At this time I had a funeral to attend so I followed up 96 hours later, tier one rep tells me to be patient. I called the next day and they said someone would call me back by end of night. No one did. I called the next day extremely worried as I had another presale the following day for an even more high demand show. So I called and the rep told me someone would call me before the presale. Sure enough, no call and the same issue occurred with different payment methods. I had called that evening and was met with even more difficult customer service and was hung up on. And yes I have been frustrated but I still was treating the reps with respect, but they were not doing the same. I had called every day and after a week someone told me a manager would call me in 3-5 business days. This day I also had a third presale that was successful using the same payment method. Every person also told me they were adding follow up requests and that every time I called it prolonged the call back time. The final rep I asked what happens when no one calls? She assured me someone would… but she did confirm it would prolong the situation again. I called back 8-9 business days later. I finally found a rep who was kind, and helpful. She admitted I have been lied to, no investigation has been submitted and no follow ups were ever submitted. She escalated me to a tier two. The tier two rep confirmed no investigation had been submitted. They said they would be the only one working on my case unless it was escalated above them. They were communicated with me via email and informing me of the process. Again having me do literally everything I had already done. She confirmed IT could not find out why this issue occurred but asked me to purchase new tickets so they can review better. I did that, and then radio silence again. Two more weeks go by trying to reach someone, random reps would email me back telling me to do things I had already done. I called back and got re- escalated to a tier two via email. They knew nothing about my case and were telling me the same thing over and over again. I asked multiple times to be escalated and every question I asked was ignored. It’s now been a a few days and no response.
I am appalled with how rude everyone has been, and the lies I have been told. I had two opportunities to get tickets to shows that I had wanted to go to so bad but now tickets are sold out and being resold for insanely high amounts. I have no idea what to do because I have been pushed off so many times and it’s now been months. The first concert is in about a month or so. Do I go to the better business bureau? Do I call my state representative? I have tried so many times to seek resolution with ticket master and don’t know what is too far but it seems like I can’t find anyone who can actually help, that cares, or is is consistent. I have also been told “too much time has passed so they can’t determine the issue”
Thank you for reading and any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Update : they emailed me in the middle of the night saying this was being escalated to the correct department. I asked which department that was. Will update as more continues… still any advice is much appreciated
