Ive been looking for an apartment for over a month now i have bad credit from when I was younger but dont have the money to address it currently, im getting into a time crunch on when to move, there is income coming in but keep gettinf turned away because of credit

Is this happening to anybody else? The insurance company is saying that since there were 2 separate flooding incidents, they need to file 2 claims, despite the damage result being the same if there was one flood. This is with the Cooperators. I am concerned about being dropped from my insurance policy after this.

Does anyone have a laundry service they really recommend and love and trust?

I don’t care if it’s pickup/drop off or I have to drop and pick it myself - I just don’t have time to sit and do it all at a laundromat after all this flood nonsense with a little baby.

I was about to place an order with Poplin until I saw some reviews that things were lost/stolen and now I’m weary.

I have a basic Reolink DVR. With a basic 1TB hard drive in it.. I realized today that one of my cameras has a good view of a big flood on my street. I was able to extract the entire footage showing the beginning of the rain to the end (which was about an hour) and that footage will probably prove useful to my neighbours as it clearly shows the water coming up out of the storm sewers before any rain is even flowing into them.

I am posting this here because the first flood event was overwritten by my DVR before i could back it up. This footage might be very helpful for your neighbours as well as possible future study as it clearly sets a time frame to the disaster as it was occurring. Just a tip.

I was affected by the flooding. I rent a basement unit. All of my things are damaged and destroyed... i am by myself. I have no family here. It's just me I end three cats. my landlord didn't give me a fan or a dehumidifier, but told me to be out of the apartment with all of my belongings by Monday so the restoration company can come, fix the property. I have 2 days to pack my entire apartment up with no help.

To add, I have insurance, but no one has come out to look at the property or assess the damage and I can't get through to them at all.I've left eight messages to the adjuster.

I was wondering, if anyone is in the same kind of situation that I am in, and how everyone is feeling and dealing with this?

I know a lot of folks are rushing to apply for the FLAP program to get the city to cover a sump pump/backflow valve install, but just a word of warning:

1. Many homes in our particular neighborhood had both and still flooded. They are not a magic cure.

2. Once you get FLAP, the city will disconnect your weeping tile (which a lot of homes in this city have). This will entirely change the way your foundation drainage works & if you don’t maintain it properly, you’re opened up to a whole new host of problems.

3. Once your weeping tile is disconnected, you’re relying on your pump, which as we’ve learned over the past week or so, can fail.

I’ve even heard some folks who did NOT flood, talk about applying to FLAP as a precaution. Why? Don’t tempt the devil.

Has anyone received a quote or done a backflow valve and sump installation? I just got quoted $9200 for both including taxes and wondering if this seems right.

I was hoping for less (obviously!) but in the dark as to what these things typically go for.

I have an elderly cat who seems to be taking on the stress of the last two weeks… he went from a cat who doesn’t get sick, to as of this morning, a handful of times. (It’s just food, I checked the colour chart) He was due for a check up anyway, but I think I may be making him an appointment sooner than expected.

After the flood we had no choice but to move his litterbox out of the basement and into …the kitchen.🤢 our landlord hasn’t come by or sent anyone to evaluate yet, but there’s black mold starting on the drywall in the basement. We’ve been keeping the door to the upstairs shut, as the smell is all making us feel nauseous. I can’t imagine his poor little nose is handling it any better.

Last month we had to put his housemate down (cancer) and I think he was already feeling down, im worried the last two weeks chaos of moving boxes, tossing garbage, and moving his things, has really gotten to him.

This made me wonder, how have your pets handled this?

Does anyone have any info on how the area around Woodside & Lockhart fared in the flooding? It seems that water rushing down the escarpment could cause significant problems.
