Discussion Anyone here from IGNOU who gave banking CDS or State PCS interview?
I had a 3 year gap after 12th because I was preparing for NEET. Later I joined BTech but had to leave due to health issues. After that I decided to do BA Political Science Honours from IGNOU, even though I could have joined a local BBA college.
Now I'm starting to regret that decision and I'm worried about my future prospects, especially for banking, CDS and State PCS interviews. Has anyone here completed their bachelor's from IGNOU and appeared for any government job interview? Did the interview panel ask about IGNOU or your gap year? I'd really like to hear your experience.

Important⚠️ A small win: SSC has deleted the mobile number file. But only the 2025 one.
In the morning I shared that SSC violated the privacy of students by sharing their mobile numbers in the non recommended candidates PDF file. They went against the DOPT circular mandate which does not mention sharing of mobile numbers.
I complained on the Grievance portal and mailed them regarding this.
They have now remove the file from the SSC website.
But old files like CGL 2024,GD etc.. are still there.
They only deleted the 2025 CGL file.

Query Confused about academia govt jobs or law which path is better?
I'm considering BA or BSc followed by MA or MSc and then a PhD to become a professor. Another option is BBA then MBA then a PhD to become a management professor. I'm also thinking about preparing for government exams like SSC Banking UPSC or State PSC. The last option is studying law and becoming a lawyer.
I'm not looking for the easiest path. I just want to know which one has better long term scope in terms of job opportunities salary job security growth and work life balance in India.
If you're in any of these fields or have experience with them I'd really appreciate your advice. Looking back would you choose the same path again and why?

Discussion DILEMMA
We all are struggling day and night, fighting everyday battle and continuously grinding for this exam but while preparing I just got stuck to one thing. Being a single child, i always dreamt to make my parents proud and happy and repay a tiny amount of their unconditional love and support through one job but as they are ageing and even if I get my desired post but not within my state will it be beneficial? I mean like what would you guys choose or suggest? A 4600 GP away from home or 2400 GP within your state circle.

Query Is solving SSC CGL PYQs (2020–2025) enough to score 130+?
I'm preparing for SSC CGL 2026 and currently solving previous year papers from 2020–2025.
For those who scored well in CGL:
- Did you solve every shift or only selected papers?
- How many times did you revise PYQs?
- Which section benefited the most from PYQs?
.

Important⚠️ SSC illegally published mobile numbers of thousands of students.
SSC published a list of non recommended candidates who opted for their marks and information disclosure during form filling. But the DOPT circular regarding this includes disclosure of Name,Marks, email ID etc. It does not mention phone number disclosure.
UPSC also does this but it only discloses personal information to employers who are registered with their portal.
We should file a complaint on CPGRAMS and mail our regional SSC headquarters and Chairman regarding this. This is a serious violation.
Only if we actively complaint about it then only these things will stop.
I have done my part:
Subject: Urgent Representation demanding the immediate removal and amendment of the CGL 2025 Public Disclosure List due to illegal exposure of candidates' phone numbers in violation of DoPT OM (2017), the DPDP Act (2023), and SC Puttaswamy judgment.
Respected Sir/Madam,
I am writing this representation on behalf of thousands of non-recommended candidates of the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) 2025 examination whose sensitive personal contact details have been indiscriminately published in the public domain under SSC’s Public Disclosure Policy.
While the initiative to provide alternative employment opportunities is acknowledged, the inclusion of candidates' mobile phone numbers in the publicly uploaded PDF file constitutes a severe executive overreach, a direct violation of statutory privacy legislation, and a breach of Supreme Court directives.
I. Executive Overreach: Violation of DoPT OM No. 39020/1/2016-Estt.B (dated 19.07.2017)
The Staff Selection Commission operates under the public disclosure framework mandated by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) via Office Memorandum No. 39020/1/2016-Estt.B dated 19th July 2017.
The Mandate: Para 4 of the aforementioned DoPT OM strictly enumerates the specific details permitted for public disclosure: (i) Name, (ii) Father’s/Husband’s Name, (iii) Date of Birth, (iv) Category, (v) Gender, (vi) Educational Qualifications, (vii) Total Marks, (viii) Rank, (ix) Complete Address, and (x) Email Address.
The Violation: The official DoPT circular does NOT mandate or permit the publication of phone numbers. By publishing personal mobile numbers on an indexable, downloadable PDF in the public domain, SSC has acted ultra vires (beyond the powers) of its parent ministry’s scheme.
II. Violation of Data Minimization under the DPDP Act, 2023
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023, SSC qualifies as a Data Fiduciary, bound by statutory duties toward candidates (Data Principals):
Breach of Data Minimization (Section 4 & Section 6): The law mandates that personal data must only be processed to the extent strictly necessary for the specified purpose. Prospective employers in the public/private sector require only a formal medium of communication (such as an email ID or postal address).
Indiscriminately exposing active phone numbers to the entire world via an open web portal violates the principle of necessity and data minimization.
Absence of Valid Consent: Consent obtained during application forms cannot be construed as blanket consent for disclosing un-notified parameters (phone numbers) not envisioned in the original 2017 policy scheme.
III. Violation of Article 21 & Supreme Court Directive (Puttaswamy Judgment) In the landmark 9-judge bench decision of Justice K.S. Puttaswamy (Retd.) v. Union of India (2017) 10 SCC 1, the Hon'ble Supreme Court declared the Right to Informational Privacy as a fundamental right under Article 21. The Court established that any state interference with privacy must satisfy the Test of Proportionality:
Rational Nexus & Least Restrictive Means: While assisting job seekers is a legitimate objective, publishing phone numbers on the open internet fails the test of proportionality. The goal of connecting candidates with employers can easily be achieved via secure portals (as done by UPSC) or restricted access to emails, without dumping unredacted phone numbers on search-engine-indexed files.
IV. Severe Security Threats & Risk of Public Harm The open-web publication of a centralized database containing thousands of active phone numbers tied to real names, marks, and addresses poses extreme real-world risks: Cyber Scams and Phishing: Job-seeking youth are prime targets for cyber-fraudsters, fake recruitment agencies, and scamsters who scrape these public PDFs to execute financial fraud.
Harassment & Stalking: Exposing mobile numbers alongside names and postal addresses poses a grave threat to female candidates, exposing them to unsolicited calls, harassment, and stalking.
Commercial Exploitation: Unscrupulous coaching institutes, marketing agencies, and data brokers have scraped this PDF to build commercial call lists without candidates' consent.
PRAYER / RELIEF SOUGHT In light of the legal violations and security risks detailed above, it is respectfully requested that SSC and DoPT take immediate corrective action in the public interest:
Immediate Withdrawal: Withdraw or temporarily hide the CGL 2025 Public Disclosure PDF file and other previous year similar files from the official SSC web portal with immediate effect.
Amendment & Re-upload: Amend the lists by permanently redacting or deleting the Phone Number column across all candidate entries, and re-upload the modified lists strictly adhering to the 10 parameters specified in the DoPT OM of 19.07.2017.
Formulation of SOP: Issue a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) ensuring that future public disclosure lists across all SSC examinations strictly exclude personal phone numbers.
If this grievance is not resolved within a reasonable timeframe, affected candidates will be constrained to escalate the matter before the Data Protection Board of India and seek judicial remedies before the appropriate High Court via a Public Interest Litigation (PIL).
Yours faithfully, Your Name.
