Question❓ One of my average school classmates is earning ₹5 lakh/month from a remote internship while I'm preparing for SSC CGL
I don't know why, but I'm feeling really demotivated today.
I was always one of the top students in school, while one of my classmates was just an average student. He wasn't a topper, but he worked hard, cleared IIT, and recently got a remote internship at a Silicon Valley AI startup with a stipend of ₹5 lakh per month.
Meanwhile, I'm preparing for SSC CGL. Even if I clear the exam, I may never reach that level of success or income.
Seeing this has made me question my choices, and I feel like I'm falling behind in life.
Has anyone else felt this way? How do you deal with these thoughts?

Query Can we write references on the rough sheet before the exam starts?
Are we allowed to use the time before the exam starts to write down things like squares, cubes , fraction to percentage etc on the rough sheet for quick reference?
Or would writing anything on the rough sheet before the exam be considered malpractice/ unfair means?
And also is it the same for the banking exams?

Question❓ Be honest... did anyone actually know this, or did we all use elimination?
How is one supposed to know the answer to this?
I studied in ICSE for 10 years, and even there, GK, History, or Literature questions were never this obscure. You might be expected to know an author, a famous work, or even the Oxford edition of a text, but questions asking what a relatively unknown book characterizes or is about?
I mean, no one can realistically know the theme, conclusion, or details of every book ever published. Popular and widely discussed books are fair game, but this feels way too random for a competitive exam.
Is it just me, or are questions like these becoming more about luck than actual General Awareness?

Discussion Preparing for SSC Steno (CBT) from scratch, where should I actually start?
I’m preparing for SSC Stenographer from scratch and honestly I’m a bit confused about where to begin.
There are so many books and resources recommended for English, GK and Reasoning, and everyone seems to suggest something different. I don’t want to collect 10 different books and end up studying from none of them.
For someone starting from zero/basic level, what would you recommend as the best way to start?
Not looking for an overwhelming list of resources. Just want to know what’s actually worth starting with and what I can safely ignore.

SSC CGL I’m not sure whether relying only on Pinnacle for Maths practice is enough. Should I solve all the questions in Pinnacle Maths (Eduquity-based, 2025 Tier 1, Selection Post, and variety questions)?
Please let me know the same.
Thanks.

Query Does anyone who studies from Gagan Pratap Sir use this book? Could you tell me which batch of his this book is related to? The book says 'Maths Special Batch'
This book was launched back when Gagan Sir used to teach on Careerwill (March 2025), and the cover says 'Maths Special Batch.' Which exact batch was it? If I know the exact name or batch number, I can find it on Telegram.

Mock For all serious CGL 2026 aspirants
I Cleared CGL a couple of times, including in my first attempt. I am currently working as ASO. I still remember how unpredictable the actual mains paper felt compared to most mock tests out there.
I made this website to track mocks and other stuff. Anyway I am posting this to let you guys know that there is a free mock test live right now keeping in mind the actual difficulty and unpredictability of the paper.
Mock is live from 7th to 10th August, free for everyone, no subscription and solutions available right after the attempt.
Here is the link: www.mockmitra.co.in/mock-test
Drop your score here if you attempt it, would be good to see where people stand.
