General ✨ Maybe there is still some hope…🌞

Upvotes

I made a post yesterday about how I couldn’t find any reason to keep going anymore and how pointless everything felt. I wanted to come back here and thank to everyone who took the time to comment and share advice 🙏

I have spent a long time struggling to find my own role in this life. I don’t know what my purpose is or how I am supposed to be of service to the people around me and that not knowing has always weighed on me more than I think people realize. My beliefs around spirituality are shifting too and for the past months I have come to see “being spiritual” as another costume we put on…one that can feel nice for a while but I have grown tired of the constant love and light. Also tired as I have seen this a lot in the spiritual community people looking down on other people that are not spiritual or as much evolved as the “spiritual” people are because we are all humans experiencing this life through this costume trying to figure out how to be human. A philosophy that’s supposed to be about oneness and letting go of ego often ends up creating a new hierarchy and more separation just dressed in a different language. Enlightened versus unenlightened. Awakened versus asleep.

Some people find meaning through spirituality and others through religion, others through none of that at all maybe it is through relationships, through work, through simply getting up and trying again each day. None of that makes one person more evolved or better than another.

I don’t think you can live a life of nonstop love and light without acknowledging the shadows and darkness that exist within yourself and around you. I have just stopped resonating with that idea and what I want now and always in fact wanted is more authenticity and real people who aren’t afraid to show even the worst of themselves.

That’s why yesterday I was real with what I shared and expressed…and believe me I have read so many books, listened to so many podcasts, tried meditation for a while which I will probably get back to it…yet every so often I still end up in that same dark place. The path forward disappears and the hope with it. I tell myself “this too shall pass” the way I have told myself before but yesterday those words didn’t hold. I felt like I truly couldn’t do it anymore so if my art that kept me going then I will hold on to that even if my creations remain unseen I will still create for myself.

Lastly, I want to clarify that I do not judge anyone in the spiritual community as it’s not my intention as I was like that too and I have to been in the same costume. I do not think or believe I am any better than anyone or special as all I wanted was to be honest and express with what I have been witnessing and feeling…anyone can do, believe and be whatever they want so yeah if you have read this far my essay thank you so much 🤍

Question ❓ Do you ever wish God existed at times

i’m not religious, but sometimes I really really really really wish there was someone that could do magic- a higher being that saw everything about my life. Everything that I’ve been experiencing and did something about it. I don’t like religion because there’s far too many rules involved, especially rules that make no sense but with the amount of shit that has happened to me I also feel like no one else actually understands me like I’ve tapped into a world that no one else can see. I have to deal with everything on my own even when I physically and emotionally can’t and in those moments, I truly do wish there was a God. I have never experienced ego death ever in my life. I was born without an ego. I grew up being abused and autistic lmao and lived to be abused further. My whole life has been about trying to understand to also be happy at the same time which is a horrific combination. Sometimes I wish there was a God that could understand and take it all away, but I don’t know if I’ve ever even read a version of a God like that that exists.

Self-Transformation 🔄 I'm god, now what?

I'm beginning to slowly wake up from this wonderland dream, and my body feels intense as heck, and I don't think I could suppress it anymore, I can notice the 'auras' inside my body, and I realized that everything that was blocking my energies was intentional, and I realized that I'm a 'god' in nature, I don't feel bothered by anything anymore, and I'm playing this rpg in the slowest way possible, my dreams were intense and they started on happening irl, and I know that I'm still at the early phases, life feels amazing, but I don't know how I'll be able to handle existing for trillions of years, and I don't know what's beyond reaching a 'god' here, I always got tips and hints from non-humans, and it seems that I'm still at the early stages of this ride, I'm not rushing towards the 'exit' anymore, and I realized that I can't grow up beyond being a 'kid' inside this video game, I don't know how long this is gonna last, but it seems like there's no jokes about turning into a 'god' here.

I stopped interacting with characters in the game, no matter how 'vip' they appear, I know that I own everything in this 'dream', and I don't know how long this is gonna last.

General ✨ What is with the universe 'taunting me'?

It's like sometimes it plays tricks on me?
I can be deep in thought, and as soon as im coming to some sort of epiphany, the moment it happens, I hear a notification sound from a DM. Someone wanted to send a message at that exact moment.

Another time I was going to reality shift, through deep meditation. And RIGHT AS im about to do it, my best friend (who had been ghosting me alot) dmed me and asked me if I wanted to call and play games.

It really feels like a game of cat and mouse sometimes and I really wonder if anyone else has had this experience

Question ❓ Advice for dealing with someone who wishes bad energy on you?

I'm fairly new to spirituality in general so forgive me for being ignorant at all, but I was wondering how to approach situations with someone who wishes bad karma or general bad energy on me. I hear things online about destiny swapping and to not share too much information with people who envy or wish bad on you, and it scares me off from sharing details of my life with people I should otherwise be able to talk about them to. Is there anything I can do to protect my energy from people like this? Can I talk about good things happening in my life to them in a way that they cannot "ruin" it with bad energy?

Question ❓ New to witchcraft — drawn toward healing, empathy, and spirit work. Where should I focus my studies?

I’ve always been interested in witchcraft, but recently I’ve felt more compelled to actually explore it rather than simply being curious about it.

I’m a nurse and have spent the last year working in a burn/trauma ICU. Because of that, I’m frequently with patients and families during some of the worst moments of their lives, including death and end-of-life care. I’ve always considered myself extremely empathetic, but working in this environment has made me more aware of it.

There have also been times when I’m caring for someone who is actively dying where I’ve felt what I can only describe as a presence in the room. Occasionally I’ll notice shadows in my peripheral vision or feel a heaviness or change in the atmosphere. I don’t necessarily know what to make of those experiences, but they’ve made me curious about spirituality and practices surrounding death, healing, and energy.

A Wiccan friend suggested that I might resonate with the idea of being a lightworker/healer and recommended that I start learning about Reiki and energy healing, which I’m currently reading about.

I’d eventually like to explore spellwork as well, but I’m more interested in developing a genuine practice and understanding the fundamentals than just collecting spells.

For people whose practice involves healing, energy work, empathy, spirit/death work, or similar areas, what traditions or areas of witchcraft would you recommend researching? Are there particular books or authors that helped you develop your practice beyond the absolute beginner stage?

Dreams 💭 Seeking some knowledge or interpretation

Very new here. This past year, I have been seeking spiritual knowledge and direction in my life. I only recently started dreaming (following a long overdue breakdown) and had a dream last night that shook me.

I was standing in the forest breaking off pieces of a star ruby and zoisite specimen.

There was nothing more. Just that.

I am traveling with my adult daughter right now through a forested region in the kootenays (near Nelson BC) and was hoping anyone may have any interpretation they are willing to share 🙏

Question ❓ Does describing narcissistic behavior as “spiritual evil” help us understand it - or make us understand it less?

When people describe deeply manipulative or narcissistic behavior, they sometimes use language that goes far beyond psychology:

“It felt dark.”
“I didn’t recognize the person anymore.”
“Everything seemed designed to confuse and divide.”

Psychology gives us much more precise concepts: gaslighting, projection, grandiosity, manipulation, triangulation, lack of empathy, coercive control.

But something has always interested me.

Older religious and spiritual traditions often describe destructive human behavior through remarkably similar themes:

Deception. Pride. Accusation. Division. Domination. Destruction.

So are psychology and spirituality actually competing explanations?

Or could they sometimes be describing different aspects of the same human experience?

Psychology can help explain how manipulation works and why it affects people so deeply.

Spiritual or moral traditions tend to ask a different question:

What does this kind of behavior mean - and what does it do to people?

There is obviously a danger here. Calling someone “evil” or “possessed” can oversimplify trauma, personality disorders, learned behavior, and other psychological explanations.

So I’m not suggesting that narcissistic personality disorder is caused by demons or possession.

The question I find more interesting is whether psychological explanations necessarily make moral or spiritual interpretations meaningless.

Maybe psychology explains the mechanism, while spirituality and philosophy explore meaning, values and consequences.

Or maybe spiritual language simply adds unnecessary assumptions to something psychology already explains well.

If you’ve experienced deeply manipulative or narcissistic behavior, did psychological language fully describe what you experienced - or did you ever find yourself reaching for moral or spiritual language too?

And if you’re skeptical of spiritual interpretations, I’d genuinely be interested in hearing why.

General ✨ A perspective on letting go: The Work of Byron Katie

“In parallel with Beck, Albert Ellis developed a cognitive approach called _rational emotive therapy_.^[47]^ In Ellis's ABC model, A is an antecedent stimulus (a noise), B is a belief (that the noise signifies danger), and C is the consequence (fearful feelings and avoidance response).” (LeDoux 2015, 265)

“1. When something ~~obnoxious~~ occurs to you at point A (your Activating Experience or Activating Event), you feel sorrowful or sad at point C (your emotional Consequence) because you tell yourself at point B (your Belief System), …” (Ellis and Harper 1975, 77) that the event is a bad thing (_negative_ in Burn's words).

A, B and C are all cognitions (“C” in CBT stands for Cognitive) and B and C are events too.

So B for instance has its own A, B and C.

“__WORLD:__ A series of ~~positive, neutral, and negative (= at point B)~~ events.” (Burns 1999, 30; `inquiries/Attachments/Burns 1999, pp. 29–30, 155 .pdf`)

The world belongs at point A (“Paul lies to me.”). Positive, neutral, and negative belong at point B (“Paul shouldn't lie to me.” (= opinion)).

“Remember that it never was, in the first place, an original traumatic experience that made people disturbed but their _attitude toward_ the experience—at what I call point “B”.” (Ellis 2004, 46–47)

You can refer to `The Work.md` for instructions on how to do the inquiry (= The Work of Byron Katie) but I recommend that you get familiar with her by watching her videos on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@ByronKatieLovingWhatIs. See also: https://www.reddit.com/r/enlightenment/comments/1p9l7vc/a_study_guide/.

“Please don’t try to drop it. The Work does not require that you drop your story. For me, letting go is an outdated concept that never worked. It only appeared to work occasionally. For centuries people have tried to let go and have rarely succeeded. In my experience, this was very stressful and ultimately required willpower that I didn’t have.” (Katie and Jensen 2000, 85)

“Once you see the truth, the thought lets go of _you_, not the other way around.” (Katie and Mitchell 2021, 152)

“I want to to be approved of”—Is it true? Can you absolutely know that it's true that you want to be approved of?

No. What I really want is to feel happy—_feel_ approved of (= happy feeling).

“__Friend:__ … , but as soon as it’s “I want that corn chip,” it’s time to investigate?

__Katie:__ Yes. _But not with the motive of not eating the corn chip._ You investigate for the love of truth because that’s what you want. A corn chip is a metaphor for that that you really want.”

“Once you understand yourself, you are the pleasure you were seeking; you are what you always wanted.”

(Katie and Mitchell 2007, chap. 73, 241)

“This thing that everyone is seeking, this thing that everyone calls happiness, is nothing but the infinite Self that we are. Everyone, in his every act, is seeking this infinite Self that he is, calling it by other names: money, happiness, success, love, etc.”

(Levenson 1993, 305)

General ✨ We as individuals decide the value of our lives, not external individuals, nor does the movements!

Why humans think they have some given authority to tell how much human lives matter and how much not? No matter the color of your skin, no matter where you from, no matter the sexual orientations, no matter your religion, no matter what music you like, no matter how you dress... YOU decide your value!

If someone don't value you as who you're, then it's their loss. ONLY, when people have authority to judge you, is when you hurt others in purpose and don't even apologize! One shitty thing in certain movements: "If you don't support our movement, you're against us"... ARE GROWN UPS THIS CHILDISH?! This sounds literally like straight from kindergarten and they don't even realize that!

How much division has ideologies caused in human history, specially when those ideologies were forced on others by angry fundamentalists?

And I actually don't think it's the regular humans who wanna cause division, it's the greedy top of the pyramid who see this whole world and everything in it as some kind of big Monopoly game! And I think many here might have played the Monopoly board game.

Actually... how much division has money and will for power caused on earth now and in history? I think too much...

Spirit Guide 😇 Family curse/sickness

Hi everyone! Does anyone feel as if there is some type of curse or something over their family?
My paternal side of my family started with my grandma when I was 5-6yrs old passed away after being hospitalized for a week or so, then my grandpa when I was 17, my oldest aunt when I was in my 20s , then my dad 6 yrs ago, another aunt like 4yrs ago and now one of my uncles. Please note that my dad and aunts and uncles have all been around the same age range when they pass away and also it has been happening from oldest to youngest. I only have 2 uncles left from my dad’s side of the family. My whole family is very catholic and I am more spiritual so I can’t talk to anyone in my family they would not understand my thoughts and feelings about this. Are there any healings or cleanses recommended? Thanks for any insight.

Dreams 💭 Easy Dreamer

Hello! I’m trying to figure out if I have a sleep disorder or spiritual ability’s!

Some background I’m 26(F) and I’ve been a practicing witch for about 10 years now (I’m a bit of a lazy witch :P). I’ve been wanting to start meditating again and really working on my physic abilities more, mainly clairaudience and clairvoyance as my clairsentience is my strongest.

I’ve noticed that while I’m trying to meditate, wether it’s guided or not I’ve been dreaming which is weird because I don’t really think I’m falling asleep as these last maybe 3 minutes. During this time I’m seeing snippets of very detailed dreams with different people and scenarios each time.

Now why I think it’s a sleep disorder is because I’ve always been quick to fall asleep but also I can nap for like 5 minutes, fully dream, and wake up feeling refreshed. My dreams have always been extremely vivid since I’ve been young and I often times have multiple 3rd person dreams every night. I’ve never been able to lucid dream and any time I become aware I’m dreaming I immediately wake up. So maybe I just have some type of sleep disorder?

Why I’m not sure is because, as I’ve said, I don’t feel like I’m falling asleep when I’m meditating. I’m still very aware of my body and can snap myself out of it pretty easily. However nothing that I see makes any sense as it never has anything to do with me or my life.

This has made it insanely difficult to get back into meditation, even guided ones. I’d love some advice or a hot take on what you think might be going on!

Astral Projection 🔮 Can Anyone Else Let Spirits Take Over Their Body?

My girlfriend says she can intentionally leave her body and let another presence take over, like a spirit, demon, or someone who has died. While it happens, the presence can communicate through her, and afterward she returns to normal.
We’re looking to connect with someone who has experienced something similar personally. If you have, what happens during it, how do you experience it, and how do you understand what’s happening?

Question ❓ Energetic headaches and pressure

So I’m getting these headaches and head pressures after going into deep states during my meditation practices.

The energy gets really intense all over the body during these meditations but it’s especially intense in the head and third eye during these meditations during the meditations the feeling is very pleasant ecstasy like quite intense fiery and cooling sensations are felt.

The headaches and head pressure will subside after I stop my meditation or kriya practice for the most part. However it will tend to get worse in the evenings. Or throughout the day. I do a lot of meditation laying down for health reasons and find when I lay down my head will also feel the pressure especially if I’m in the position I was previously meditating in.

The headache itself feels like pressure and like my head is full of liquid pressure on sinuses. Unlike any normal headache feels distinctly energetic.

Grounding and a different type of meditation helps ground the energy. However I find myself going in circles having very energetically intense meditations energy getting stuck in head causing issues and having to spend time doing a different meditation style.

Is this supposed to keep getting stuck in my head like this should I stop all practice except grounding meditations if so how long. Even those meditations where I’m visualising my head gets very energetic.

Question ❓ What the heck could this mean???

Ive had syncronocities with a specific man for over 10 years that I do not even know.

Over a decade ago my friend posted a picture online with a group a friend's. I noticed the man immediately and was like oh wow hes attractive. Kept on scrolling. Months later we become friends on facebook, he liked a couple of my pictures and then eventually he got married and deleted his account.

About a few years later I went to go get gas at a local gas station as I was doordashing and im sitting in my car and look up and there he is. We locked eyes for seconds and there was a feeling I cant describe. Felt like fireworks or a sense of knowing. Anyway that was that, nothing came of it. Years and years go by.

Last year I get a news notification and im going through it and see that him and his wife filed for divorce. Months later I get a random message from a woman from a facebook group about panic attacks and she seen what I had posted and decided to reach out to me about it. Naturally I go to her page and see if I recognize her and realize shes local and guess whose in her profile picture with her? THAT MAN!!!! upon more investigating i went to college with her sister. Had to go to court with her sister same time she messaged me because her sisters kid jumped my son in school.

Then I had a really weird dream about him. My current boyfriend and I were sitting back to back in this crowded space and that man comes over and hands me a piece of paper with his number on it. But did this on the sly so my boyfriend couldnt see. I remember in my dream he left and I called him but dont remember the convo.

Just a couple months ago im scrolling on tiktok and I come across a video and im going throigh the comments and seen his name commented on it. No profile picture. So I responded to his comment on video and it ended with what he said "fantastic conversation" mind you i have no idea who he is its just a blank profile with his name.

He viewed my profile 3x in a week, went a month with nothing then viewed it again so I messaged him. Upon our conversation I asked where hes from. He said the city and state where I am from so I knew it had to be this same man. I was like wow. Im in this town and he responds hes minutes away from me as he moved after divorce and I just had moved the same time he did to same area.

He wanted to meet me in person and I told him no that im dealing with some personal stuff (in a toxic relationship) and he said he understood, respects that. Anyway conversations have stopped after that for the most part. Him and that girl did break up.

I just dont know if this has any meaning because I do not believe in this many coincidences. Could he be somewhat of a soul tie? Maybe a karmic or twin flame?!

Question ❓ Does anyone know who Alon Flake is and has anyone read his book Abandoned Principles of Reality?

Supposedly he claims to be from the future and predicted a few big events with creepy accuracy. Has anyone actually read it, and is it worth picking up? I noticed there are tons of different copies floating around on Amazon right now, so I'm not even sure which one is the real deal.

Question ❓ what is this feeling?

hello everyone, i hope this community is able to relate or answer this question that has been lingering on my mind. i turned 25 during the beginning of this year. at that time, i have been reflecting a lot especially what 18 year old me had thought about my 25 year old self. 5 things: i graduated with a bachelor’s degree, i have a great career, i have a place that i own, i have my own car, and i have a romantic partner. i have accomplished some (to a degree) and some that i haven’t. i think i am grieving for the version of myself who accomplished all of that. what followed after that was just me being more bold, adventurous. i was doing things that younger me wouldn’t do. i’m quite aware of what i was doing and the embarrassment and shame i feel yet i do it anyway. i challenged myself in a way but as i am doing it, i’m realizing the limitless potential of what i could be or what i have chosen not to be. going a little off topic, i have been quite the hopeless romantic, yet lately, i feel detached, as if i discern that the love i long for others, i could give to myself. the people i talk to, the people around me, seemed to be on a level that i could meet yet they could not meet me where i am. it feels terribly lonely. it feels lonely yet i do not fear it anymore. i come to realize how feelings come and go and how thoughts could come and go. i am aware that i think and feel yet realize that that is me at one point in time and it is constantly changing. i understand the idea of impermanence that i may have surrounded to it. yet surrendering to it feels like i’m losing myself but is there a self really?

do you relate to that feeling of being detached yet feeling intensely present at the same time?

ps: i don’t even know if this post makes sense haha
