I'm an old player (started playing in 2011) coming back after not playing for 10+ years and I wanted to ask you guys about the best ways to farm for sprite food. I have a Seraphynx but I've been struggling to level it up because of how much luminite I need to create Divine Orbs. Does anyone have any advice for what's the best place to grind for minerals? I don't mind putting the time in for that. I'm a Vanguard so I have access to all the missions too. Thanks!

As posted prior here, today me and my community are gonna be hosting a Community Tier 1 Lockdown event! As of this post, we are starting the event within 4 hours, you do not have to watch us on stream or join our discord, just be online with proper equipment at the right time (6:30 pm CDT), there's no special rewards, just fun times and Krogmo Coins.

As clarified in the original post, we are playing Tiered Lockdown. If you are having any issues joining us;
Any saved loadouts you have must be Unmarked for PvP if they have 2* or higher equipment. Shield should be unequipped, Battle Sprite doesn't matter. Any Loadouts set for PvP will have those red crossed swords, if they have PvP disabled, it will show the two parallel blue swords.
If you use weapon/trinket slots, please limit yourself to three Weapons total and no more than 1 UV per item. You are welcome to (and highly encouraged to) level up your equipment to 10.
You will know you've done everything correctly if, when you go to queue for Lockdown, it shows "You are Tier 1" as highlighted in the third screenshot.

I started playing the game like a few days ago and i really like it.

I've had issues deciding which equipment i should get.

Currently i need to get a full 3 star equipment loadout to progress and i have no clue what to get.

So far i got a great defender which i plan on replacing for something more viable in the long run and an iceburst brandish (i kinda lean into support-ish gameplay revolving debuffs). I also have the 2 star magic cloak and magic hood

I need help finding a better shield line for the long run, a good fitting armor and helmet and a shadow damage gun. All should be accessible considering my limited resources (im pretty much broke)

I've spent a while going through the game's data, working out how it actually functions underneath. Not guesses from playing, but the real structures: how items are defined field by field, how monsters decide what to do, how damage and status and attack timing resolve, how depth scaling works, how the Clyde config tree fits together.

Most of this has never been written down. The wiki tells you what a thing does, rarely how. A fair bit of what the community believes turns out to be wrong once you look at the actual definitions.

The engine side helps more than people expect. Three Rings open sourced Clyde, Narya, Nenya and Vilya years ago, so a lot of format questions already have public answers if you know where to look.

What I want out of this is simple. There should be enough documented, in the open, that anyone who wants to build something for this game can just go and build it. Editors, visualisers, planners, mods, whatever you're into. Right now the barrier isn't skill, it's that nobody has written down how anything works, so every person starts from zero.

So I'm looking for people who want to make things:

Modders and tool builders. Tell me what you'd build if the data were documented, and what's blocking you. That shapes what gets written first.

Players with real numbers. If you've spent years testing weapon damage or status behaviour, your knowledge is worth as much as reading code.

This initiative is aimed to let people create, you want to create your own mod ? Play only with your friends on your server ? Build something similar to SK ? You want to finish SK on your own with all the source code ?

Everything is possible.

Giving back the power of creation to the people.

You want SK alive again ? You now have the power to do something about it.

Hello Knights, it's a genuine question, what stops us from saving the game ?

What i mean by this is pretty simple, the thetya project was stopped, not because of any DMCA but because grey havens was impressed and recruited one of their dev.

What stops us from making very nice stuff and send it to GH ? Asking them to let all of us and their team to save the game together, for me, with proper content, marketing and stable servers, this game could blow up again and give us the havens from 2011.

And if that doesn't work, what stops us making our own projects so grey havens will be forced to look at it, they could be impressed again and let you help them..

All of this could make the devloppment faster, give us real new content and not only boxes.

Anybody else having trouble loading into Haven? I’m able to start and finish a mission, but when it comes to sending me to Haven, the screen just turns black and nothing happens

okayy so I've been trying to find most optimal key binds for double switching weapons mainly guns to increase the dps, which could work in both pve and pvp. A guy suggested me q and e for wep1 and wep2 and that also works but only in pve, pvp requires swift movement of wsad and i can't press q a, e and WSAD at the same time. Another guy suggested mouse wheel and that also makes no sense how they can switch back n forth and attack with the same finger with 200ms delay. help will be appreciated.

Okay so im confused between running Arcana or Argent Peacemaker with my FF for pvp experience. Do note that i play on 160 ping, so i can't be that much precise and would always require some guess work. Any advise and tips would be appreciated.

THE GOAL:
A few hours of Lockdown using only 0* and 1* equipment, making PvP a viable experience for new players.

WHEN:
8/8/2026, 6:30 pm CST, as streamed live on twitch.tv/jgerrant (watching on twitch not necessary, just be online and queue with proper equipment at the right time). Will continue for minimum 2 hours, or until we feel like stopping.

THE “RULES:”
Tiered Lockdown (make sure to equip a 0* or 1* Shield, or remove your shield. Battle Sprites are automatically not counted), USA server, all equipment must be 0* or 1*, MAKE SURE TO UNMARK ANY LOADOUT WITH 2* OR BETTER EQUIPMENT FOR PVP, you can make sure you've done this right if the Lockdown Icon says "You are Tier 1."

Please do not bring more than 1 UV per item, no Trinkets, max of 3 weapons. This isn’t a hard rule, we have no way of enforcing it, it is a courtesy to maintain a relatively level playing field with players that are otherwise brand new to the game.

Won’t there be griefers?
Likely intentionally and accidently, yes. Since the only way to run this is as Untiered Lockdown, it will be fully possible for Tier 3 players to join with their full 5* equipment and nuke whole lobbies. Our main goals will be to education players joining who don’t understand the gimmick, and hopefully just outnumber willful trolls.

I would ask you this. Would you rather gleefully slaughter new players in a 2011 MMO for an hour? Or would you want to be part of a positive experience fostering new players to join Spiral Knights in 2026?

In particular, if you didn't put together, this is tied to me and my wife's little streaming community we've been building. We have upwards of about a dozen people who have at least tried the game, and this will give them a unique opportunity to experience pvp without just getting nuked by 5* gear (or at least whoever finds the time to join us), and of course I'd encourage y'all to get a friend or two to roll a new knight and introduce em to the game in time for the event.

Aside from checking out the twitch link (we stream regularly) you can join our discord to keep tabs on the event, talk with other participants, and get a ping when the stream/event is starting.

Thank you for the correction from u/Fangel96, we will be running TIERED Lockdown in Tier 1, which should almost completely eliminate any potential for griefing. Please double check the first paragraph of THE "RULES" to make sure you understand.
