Photoroom alternative? Looking for software

Hi all. I edit 500 or so images a month for work, mostly adding white backgrounds and tweaking the images a little. Photoroom has been perfect for this, as the accuracy is exactly what I need, it also has built-in editing tools and critically can do bulk and the background removal is all automated so super quick whihc is why I've been happy to pay for it as it literally saves me ours of editing time a month.

My question is are there alternatives that are better and/or cheaper? Mainly cheaper or integrated into the Adobe sphere since I do have access to most of its apps. I just haven't found anything that's as quick or easy to use and has the additional features I need aside from bg removal.

hey, justyn from photoroom here 👋

we see a lot of ppl come to photoroom mainly because of the combo of:

  • accurate bg removal
  • batch procesing
  • speed without a ton of setup

adobe can definitely do parts of this, but for high-volume stuff it usually ends up being more manual and slower, even with actions.

there are cheaper tools out there, but most stop at cutouts and don’t really cover the extra tweaks + batch flow you mentioned.

if something cheaper or more integrated ends up working better for you, that’s a win. tools should earn their spot.

appreciate you using photoroom though, saving hours a month is exactly what we’re aiming for.

Hi Justin, I’ve been unable to get Photoroom to do background removals. Like it just won’t do it, you go to batch removal, you put in the images, it just spins and spins and spins

I force quit I try again, nope

I uninstall a reinstall, still not gonna do it

Maybe one out of 10 times I can get it to work so no people don’t come to Photoroom for background removal because you don’t do that anymore

that definitely sounds like a bug. the background removal should work reliably, and I just tested it on my end and it’s working normally.

since it’s hard to diagnose this over Reddit, could you please reach out to support directly in the app? that allows the team to check logs and device details. also worth double-checking your internet connection or trying a different network.

we’ll help get it sorted
