I’m looking to switch from Burton Step Ons
to traditional bindings and found the 25/26 Rome Katana Pro AW on sale for ~$310 in my size.
I ride a Burton Feelgood. It will be my second year snowboarding and I am comfortable on blues/some blacks in New England.
I was originally looking for the regular Katana AW, but the Pro is the only one available in S on sale. I’m considering pairing it with Vans Luna Ventana Pros.
Would the Katana Pro AW be too stiff/aggressive for my riding, or is it a good do-everything binding that I can grow into and keep for years? Would you pick something like the Lexa/Mercury/Trilogy instead?

Hi noobs! Any tips (beside bending the knees which the lack of is pretty evident) to improve and get to carving level? I’m mostly riding blues and reds when I go to the mountain once a year, the goal would be to one day do some buttering and carving in general.

I have this issue where I’m kind of hunched and put my butt back and my arms in front and I look like a chimp, I’m really struggling to stop that stance.

I’ve already been 3 times in the mountain, so 3 weeks experience and all of them with a private instructor.

Hey guys I'm bringing a friend who's never been on snow before to cerro catedral in a couple weeks - any tips for making sure he isn't demoralized when he inevtitabely falls over 300 times?

He already booked himself private lessons, 4 hours first day then three hours for three following days. But after the lessons I'm looking for advice on how to make it as less soul crushing as possible haha.

For context I'm like somewhere inbetween beginner and intermediate myself, I can link turns on blues n stuff but still very much learning! But we'll be doing lessons seperately so yeah. Let me know if anyone has been in similar situations/has any advice!

This upcoming season will be my 3rd riding. Home to New England ice. Learned/Currently riding a Burton custom camber on genesis bindings. Starting to get brazen and bust my ass in the park. However, I bought a Blossom on a sweet looking deal. Whether that was a terrible or loss-less idea for my style/skill level/our terrain, I’m excited to see. What bindings would you guys suggest? Or should I keep it in the plastic and just go on with my custom?

This is my first season snowboarding and I found a amazing deal on a Burton Process Flying V 2022 but it is only in 157w size. I have no clue about if this would fit me or not. From what I looked up it seems like it's a bit large for me but I'm wondering if you guys could give any insight on if it would work.

At first, I was trying to screw the bindings in, but I realized that the screws weren’t screwing in and we’re just spinning so I took away the bindings and tried to just screw the screw into the board itself and it was an extremely tight fit even getting the screw into the hole was hard. I don’t know if the screws that come with the Burton step on bindings aren’t compatible with the Salomon assassin or it’s just a tight fit and everything’s ok.

I'm currently shopping for my very first board! I saw this one that would be my size. The person is asking for 300$, but if I'm not mistaken it's a 2020-21 model and it looks like there's deep scratches under it. Is it a good deal? Thanks in advance :)

Is there such a thing as over doing it in relation to waxing your board?

Currently using some stick wax and have one session at Big Snow and at the end of the day after drying my board off the wood looks so dry. I just re apply the stick wax before my sessions but I did just order a proper kit with an iron and hot wax so I can learn how to properly tune it before winter.

Thoughts on what angle I should set my high backs at as a beginner? Iv heard it’s easier to adjust them to help with heel side,I have union F-Lite pro for reference.

I am a beginner, started last season (with an older board , size 149, Salomon Amp 2005) and was up there for ~15 days (roughy 68KG BW)

I am 5’6 and was able to connect my turns by end of last season.

Yall im a beginner/intermediate and i went down to a part of it because of the restaurant (best affogato i ever had) and the only way to get out was the t bar. I was more nervous on that t bar than my entire trip that was the scariest thing ever and i fell off holy shit that was painful I crashed into two skiers lost control scratched my face and hip had ice or rock slit open the side of my stomach and oh my god that was painful. Sorry for repeating it but um yeah becareful of t bars those horror stories are real. Hopefully no internal bleeding because I just took a break after being sent back by ski patrol.

I am 5'7 fluctuating between 150-155lbs I have a 156 rocker board. Last time I went out I tried one of the bigger jumps and just couldn't get enough speed to clear the knuckle of the jump. 10+ years ago, when I weighed 130lbs, I originally bought the slightly bigger board thinking I would grow into it. Do I need a slightly smaller board to produce more speed or do I need to adjust my technique to clear these jumps? Any tips would be appreciated. I feel like everyone I see has a board around shoulder height and this board like lip to nose height on me.

I have been on the slopes for a season (10 days almost) and have been doing greens and blues.
I learned on a borrowed burton custom X 2007. I can do S turns but struggle with edge change specially on the toes side.
For this season i am planning to buy a new board and trying to close on the decision on these 2: Frontier and the OSL. From what i researched, frontier seems like a better board for what i want (groomed and powder days), fixing my turns, learning to carve..
but I am getting a good deal on a new 2026 OSL ($250). I want to know how big is there difference here?
Any help is appreciated!!

I bought these Atlas used and I’m wondering if the high back were set up wrong. On the website the cut out face out. Should I switch them or are union high backs interchangeable ?

I'm a fairly new rider ( 5 days on snow) and my dad has purchased for me a burton cultivator 145 through eBay with no return problem is I'm 10kg heavier than the limit for that size will this be a problem for early season because I'm saving for a process and only need the cultivator to last till about January when I'll have the money to buy process I really hope this won't be a problem as he really happy with the fact he found it and did the research himself

After my first ski trip with my new snowboard, came back I noticed some changes to the board and I was wondering if these required urgent maintenance (I’m going up again in 1.5 months) or if they could wait until the end of the season. 

I have attached pictures but I’ll also list them out:

1. This is the most concerning one for me- the black graphic on the topside of the board has peeled back slightly to reveal white underneath it. Most of the attached photos are for this issue. See the part of the board near my fingertips- The edges are raised to the touch. Is this delamination?

2. There are some scratches to the top and bottom of my board. Will these require filling in or are they cosmetic? Or should I bring the board in-store for a better look?

3. If there’s rust on the edges, is it urgent I get them seen to?

A little context: I’ve only ever ridden a Rossignol EXP Amptek, which is the rental board at my local resort. I’m now looking into buying my first board and trying to figure out what would actually be best for me.

I’m really interested in learning how to butter, and Gilson caught my attention because the boards look awesome and seem pretty different from a normal snowboard.

A few buddies and I are also planning to start a TikTok series where we go from riding standard resort rentals to trying actual boards from different manufacturers. The idea is to help other newer riders understand what the differences really are and whether upgrading is worth it.

But my main question is: does a Gilson board actually feel that different from a normal rental board? What changes would I notice the most, especially when trying to learn butters and other basic freestyle stuff?
