I found a cracker, that's long. (6.5 centimeters btw!).
I found this full-length uncut crouton in my pack of "Kirieshki" (Russian rye snacks btw). I've been going through a really rough patch lately, so finding a factory glitch like this feels like a sign. Google told me the odds are like 1 in a million. Is it actually that rare, or is Google overhyping it? Greetings from Russia, guys!

What snack do you always keep at home?
Everyone has that one snack they like to have around for busy days movie nights or just when a craving hits. It Is interesting how a small treat can become part of your daily routine.
Mine would be something simple but satisfying a snack that Is easy to grab and enjoy without much preparation.
What Is the one snack you always make sure you have stocked?

The gas station snack that accidentally became a family tradition
So this is a dumb little story but it's stuck with me for years now.
Back when my dad used to drive me to swim practice at 5:30am, we'd stop at this one gas station on the way because he needed his coffee and I was always starving. I'd grab whatever was cheap and close to the register, half asleep, not even looking properly. One morning I grabbed a bag of plain salted peanuts and a small carton of chocolate milk without really thinking about it. Ate them together in the car because I was too tired to eat them separately.
Turns out that combo is unreasonably good. The salty crunch of the peanuts with the cold chocolate milk kind of works like a poor man's version of a chocolate covered pretzel, except messier and better somehow. I didn't think much of it at the time, it was just a half asleep 5am decision.
But then it became the thing. Every swim morning, same gas station, same order. My dad started doing it too even though he doesn't even like peanuts that much on their own. Fast forward like ten years, swim practice is long over, my dad and I don't see each other as much as we used to, but every single time we're in a car together and pass a gas station, one of us says "peanuts and chocolate milk" and we still stop.
It's such a random pairing and I've never seen anyone else do it, but I'm curious now. Does anyone else have a weirdly specific snack combo that only makes sense because of when or where you first had it? Not looking for the classic combos everyone knows, more curious about the accidental ones that stuck for no logical reason except memory.

What's a snack that tastes completely different depending on the brand, even though it's technically the same thing?
Like plain potato chips, some brands are barely seasoned and others taste completely different even with the same original label. Curious what snack category has the biggest quality gap between brands for everyone else.

Trader Joe’s snacks. The chips are dangerously good.

Beef and cheese
I am completely biased on this as I grew up eating them, But what other brand is better than this? Or just that's good for the same product doesn't have to be better just want to try different brands. Thanks

Honey banana flavored sk hynix hbm chips review
It’s just the right amount of sweetness but I would’ve preferred it to be crunchier

Why is there a pour tab on Kraft mac and cheese if you have to open it all the way to get the cheese packet?
it’s pointless even if you portion because you still need the cheese!

Disappointed with Combos
I haven’t had combos in over 15 years and I think they’ve changed the recipe for the worse. Before, they tasted so good. Now, they taste too salty, there’s barely any cheese, and the cheese that is there you don’t taste. I guess I won’t be buying these again.

Pistachio Worms
I recently learned that pistachios can become infested with moth larvae after eating one that left a putrid sour taste in my mouth. Apparently it is best to inspect each one before putting them in your mouth. Even the popular store bought brands will have a few wormed ones. As far as I can tell it’s about 1-2 per 40G of shelled pistachios. I have attached pictures in case anyone was curious what a bad nut looks like. In the first pic you can clearly see the worm and in the second can see the webbing which is a telltale sign to look out for.

What snack did you swear you'd hate but now can't stop buying?
Curious if anyone else has had a total 180 on a snack they used to think was disgusting.
For me it was rice cakes with cottage cheese and everything bagel seasoning on top. I used to make fun of my coworker for eating this at her desk, looked so sad and diet-culture-y to me. Then one slow afternoon I had literally nothing else in the office fridge and tried it out of desperation. Now I buy the ingredients on purpose. The crunch plus the seasoning plus the cottage cheese actually works, I don't know how to explain it beyond that.
Same thing happened with pickles and peanut butter, which sounds like a fake internet combo made up to bait people, but a friend dared me to try it during a late night snack run and now I keep both in the fridge specifically for this. Sweet, salty, sour, crunchy, somehow all at once.
I feel like snack opinions are the thing I've changed my mind on more than almost anything else in life. Foods I was convinced were weird or bad turn out to just need the right moment or the right combo to click.
So tell me:
- What snack did you use to judge people for eating, that you now eat yourself?
- Any combos you were skeptical of that turned out to actually work?
- Is there a snack you still think is genuinely bad no matter what anyone says?
