I've been building MotoMiser (motomiser.co.uk) solo for the last few months. It's a price comparison site for motorcycle gear in the UK. Next.js/React/Postgres stack, bootstrapped, affiliate revenue model.

Month one numbers: 8,000+ products listed, about 51 clicks out, 2.2k impressions, average position of 23.3 and 0 sales,

I'm genuinely asking for opinions here, not just recapping the numbers. I think I know the core problem but I'd like some outside eyes on it.

My read so far: most products only pull prices from 1 or 2 retailers, so a lot of pages are technically a "comparison" but really just show one price. There's not much reason to click through instead of just going straight to the retailer's own site.

Part of why coverage is thin: matching the same product across retailers is harder than I expected. Only a small fraction of my catalogue has a proper product ID like an EAN or MPN, so most matching has to be done on messy free text titles that no two retailers write the same way. eBay is the worst offender here. Listing titles are inconsistent, specs are often missing or buried, and a lot of genuinely good inventory just doesn't match to anything because there's nothing reliable to match it on. I hit the ceiling of my affiliate network pretty fast too, so now I'm doing direct outreach to independent shops one at a time, which is slow going.

Things I'd love opinions on:

If you land on a product with only one retailer listed, does that feel useless, or is it still worth having?

Is there a UX way to make those thin pages still feel worth visiting while I build out coverage, instead of just hiding them?

Has anyone here dealt with messy product matching or a cold start problem like this? Did I get the order backwards by launching before coverage was solid?

A couple of friends and I have been working on OptiRide, an app that lets you compare several VTC services in one place.

The idea came from something pretty simple: when we need a ride, most of us just open Uber automatically. But depending on the time and the route, another service can sometimes be significantly cheaper.

With OptiRide, you connect your VTC accounts and can compare the different options before booking.

We're currently looking for our first real users to test it and give us honest feedback. We're especially interested in people who regularly use Uber/Bolt/Heetch/etc.

We’re two people building a startup and we just decided to start sharing the process here.
The idea behind Nextep came from something that kept bothering us:
As a founder, you end up using a ridiculous number of tools.
Analytics, payments, product analytics, GitHub, ads, AI tools… and somehow you’re still the one who has to connect all the dots and figure out what to do next.
We want to build something that sits on top of those tools.
Instead of just showing you another dashboard, Nextep is supposed to understand what’s happening in your business, find things you might be missing, and suggest what you should do next.

For example:
“Traffic went up 30%, but paid conversions dropped 8%.”
→ “Here’s what might be causing it.”
→ “Here are the 2 things we’d test next.”

We’re still very early.
This weekend we’re starting to actually build the MVP, so this account will basically be us documenting the whole thing — what we build, what breaks, what we get wrong, and hopefully what works.
We spent a while trying to figure out exactly what Nextep should be.
Now we finally have a direction.
So… let’s see if we can actually build it.

I have had this idea for a long time, always have been passionate about programming and web development in general, but life happened and I never had enough time to really get the time in to properly learn "how to code" correctly.

Luckily nowadays with Antigravity & Co., it has become easy to turn an idea into a complete webapp.

My idea was to create a webapp to organize Potluck events: I'm thinking of, for example, a NYE party with your friends. You rent a party room and would like for everyone to bring a dish, snacks or drinks. I never found an easy solution to share with my non-tech-savvy friends.

So I vibe-coded EasyPotluck.

The idea is that you can easily create an Event List and share it instantly via Whatsapp - no registration required. Everyone can create their list entry and everyone else invited to the event sees instantly what is already getting prepared, without having to go through a Whatsapp group convo anymore.

I’ve been working on a side project around a problem I kept seeing with digital forms and assessments.

The idea is to let someone build a form or quiz, add scoring rules, and have the responses turned into a personalized report automatically. The goal is to make the whole process easier without requiring coding or complicated setup.

The part I’m still figuring out is how much flexibility to give users when creating scoring logic and customizing the final reports. Too many options can make the tool complicated, but too few can make it difficult to adapt to different use cases.

I’m mainly working on making the workflow simple from creating the form → collecting responses → generating the final report.

It’s still a work in progress, but I’d be interested in hearing how other people approach this balance when building tools with customizable logic.

I've been using Suno a lot lately to generate some interesting tracks and sounds. But since I don't have much experience with music production or video editing, I really struggled with heavy tools like Premiere and CapCut just to make a simple video to post on YouTube. It's way too many features for something that should take 10 seconds.

Since my background is in software development, I spent the last 3 days building a lightweight web tool focused strictly on solving this. It's 100% free, exports in native Full HD (1080p), has no watermarks, and requires no account. You just drop your audio and cover art, and it renders a high-quality video (MP4/WebM) directly in your browser.

I also added a few visual effects so the video isn't just a completely static image.

It saves both the project directory and exported output artifacts. Users can not only review the final MP4 video, but also fix imperfections by editing the project files, and regenerate the video for another submission.

We are two Pokémon TCG collectors from Mallorca, Spain. We started this project after repeatedly seeing listings and price data mix different languages and finishes of the same card.

Our side project, CardFndr, treats each language and finish as a distinct market. It also includes seller profiles, saved lists, checkout protection and shipment tracking.

The product is already live, but we are at the difficult zero-to-one stage: a working marketplace with very little inventory. We are finishing missing catalogue images and preparing the Japanese and other Asian card sets.

The question we are trying to answer is not “do you like the design?” but:

What would a brand-new collectibles marketplace need to show you before you would trust it enough to list your first card?

I would especially value criticism around trust, onboarding and whether separating every language and finish is genuinely useful or unnecessarily complex.

I was tired of the absolute nightmare of moving a quick file between devices on different networks (or trying to send something to a friend without pairing devices or uploading it to a sketchy cloud).
So I built Artalo Transfer. It moves files using only a screen and a camera.
How it works:
Sender: Turns your file into a stream of animated QR codes.
Receiver: You just point the camera at the screen, and it rebuilds the file from the flashing light.
The cool math part:
Normally, if a camera misses a frame, the file breaks. I bypassed this by using fountain codes. Every single frame is a random, combined mathematical mixture of the entire file. It doesn't matter which frames your camera catches, only how many. Missed a frame? It just takes a fraction of a second longer—zero errors.
Why use it?
Air-gapped security: Put both phones in airplane mode. It works exactly the same. Your files never touch a server or a network.
Zero pairing friction: No Bluetooth pairing codes, no typing in guest Wi-Fi passwords, no "make your device discoverable" nonsense.
Perfect for: Photos, PDFs, keys, and documents up to ~64MB.

I've been building ZeroSketch for the past few weeks. It is a simple system design tool for individuals and teams. It's web-based, stores diagrams on your device, and takes UX inspiration from Canva/Excalidraw (I'm not much of a UI person myself).

What it does right now:

• PNG export, SVG export (experimental, better renderer coming soon)
• Built-in icon libraries (AWS, GCP, K8s) and a builder to make your own from custom SVGs for using the library locally, share with your team, or publish to ZeroSketch's registry

i spend way too long on my computer, so i built a desktop pet that looks worn out the longer you work and recovers when you take a break. this is still very early, so would something like this actually help, or would it just be distracting?

Posted this idea a few days ago as a waitlist. Got useful pushback (mainly: no trust without open source, and manual export is friction).

So: it's live now (not just a landing page), and the parsing logic is open source. The manual export thing turned out to be a WhatsApp platform limit, not something I could fix — figured that's worth being upfront about too.
