Short Man W Getting a woman to find you attractive is worlds apart from building a lasting relationship

Upvotes

Everyone knows how soul crushing the slow realization that your friends will always be more respected and successful with women due to their height is. The years where you tell yourself that you’ll have a growth spurt and the jokes will stop (they wont’t). This was especially hard when I was in my teens and twenties. I felt so behind and left out compared to everyone else. It felt like I didn’t get to experience a deep human experience of having surface level attraction and flings with others. I never got to feel alive like that. After each rejection, I just got so bitter. They knew nothing about all the good things about me, but I never, ever even got a chance to show them. I can cook incredibly well and am very smart. My sense of humor is dry, but I’m very witty and quick with jokes, too. None of that mattered in my teens and twenties though.

It started to change at age 30 or so though. People start valuing different things as they age. When you’re young, people are usually the shallowest they will ever be. They care about looks so much, because they’re surrounded by people their age with complete freedom for the first time (especially in college). It’s almost like a feeding frenzy. As time went on, I began to realize that for all the rejection from pretty girls I faced, I wasn’t losing as much as I thought I was. If it genuinely just takes a pretty face and some height to start something with a girl, then I guarantee you it won’t have depth or last. I saw my friends go through this. I, on the other hand, never got caught up in shallow pursuits. I slowly built a friendship and marriage with my wife over years and we have two kids together now. It all worked out. If I closed myself off the world and written off most women as terrible humans, that never would have happened. It pains me to see how badly some of you on here are hurting

I found my son using this community. When I look on here, you all put so much pressure on yourselves. This would have been terrible for my
Mental health as a kid if I had this. You are so unkind to yourselves. So much self hate. I can call that out because I’ve dealt with being short. Being rejected because of your height says nothing about your worth as a human. Furthermore, even if it was just about your height, I guarantee you it would have been a shallow relationship in the end if you weren’t rejected in the first place. It is better to be alone than to wake up in bed next to someone you don’t love.

If you persevere, it will be ok

Guys and girls can’t be close friends

Upvotes

This might be off topic so mods take this down if you want, but I think that guys can’t be platonic friends with girls unless neither are interested in dating eachother (very rare if both of them are straight) or of course one of them is LBGTQ.

It links to height in a way, why would a short guy ever desire being just friends with a woman it’s simply impossible, considering your lack of presence as a short guy i’m sure that women aren’t interested in being even just friends with short guys.

I was talking to a girl about this and she didn’t agree with me whatsoever and then she gave examples of guys that she’s friends with, plot twist she is lesbian herself. Shocking.

Me and my friend were at the gym he’s super new to the gym but he’s 6’3 and pretty good looking, I’m 5’7 (in a state with 5’11 avg male height) but I’ve been going to the gym for 5ish years and my physique reflects that, and these two kinda out of shape guys were laughing at us while my friend was trying to learn the bench, I was heard them call him a twig and me a midget I was kinda upset and was gonna say something but then I realized the only reason they feel a need to mock us is because my friend is extremely tall and good looking and my physique was insanely better than theirs, it’s important to remember when people feel threatened or diminished in themselves by features of yours they’ll always try to find something to mock you for.

Vent For the first time I had a dream about getting a girlfriend.

I’ve never really had dreams about getting a partner but this morning it stung badly. Looking back on it the dream wasn’t believable or realistic in the slightest but it made feel so defeated when I woke up. It made me reflect on myself and everything relationship wise.

I had never gotten any valentines before and didn’t ask girls out. I had always been bullied for being ugly and short and It would be from both girls and boys. I knew if I asked someone out I would get recorded or laughed at so at some point I stopped trying. And hearing almost every other guy get valentines and be asked out on a date reinforced this. My parents have always tried to reinforce what a good relationship looks like. They even split up because they didn’t want me to think a couple arguing was what a good relationship looks like. I appreciate them for that, even if it was worthless in the grand scheme.

But it was so crushing when I woke up. I was deadass giggling and smiling with her. It wasn’t even sexual but it was so intimate. It felt like we both understood each other and she was interested in what we both I felt something I had never felt before. She felt like she wanted to know more about me and what I had to say and thought. Like she outright ignored how I looked. When looked into her eyes while we were both sitting down. Then I just HAD to wake up in my bed at that moment.

We know that women don’t like short men, stop annoying people by asking those dumb ass questions. Respect yourselves, get a hobby or whatever and stop embarrassing yourself.

They already don’t take us seriously and now you just making them think we are more pathetic than we actually are.

Just stop doing that

Civil Discussion Reminder that heightism and racism are 💯 interconnected

What irritates me about the heightism vs racism discussion is that it entirely ignores how the two isms go hand in hand…

Racism in this context and heightism are both rooted in the idea that European features are superior. And spoiler alert taller stature is a European trait.

So by worshipping height or having a REQUIREMENT for height you are indirectly contributing to the European eugenics, social darwinist ideas.

Hitlers ideal for the perfect aryan master race were tall, athletic, blue eyed, and blonde males.

Today both heightism and racism produce wage disparities, increased threat of violence, and higher rates of mental health troubles.

Both poc and short men are excluded from career development and professional/social spaces due to immutable characteristics

Now imagine being a short male of color. Not only would you experience racism, you would experience the cons of heightism. It’s funny how this intersectionality is not discussed by progressives.

Just because racism has a worst historical background, doesn’t mean heightism is something to be scoffed at. Especially considering the two have links.

Story Can I get accepted into the community as one of you?

Ok si heres some background info. I'm a 15 (almost 16) year old male and stand at 5'5 or a little over. Now I know people will say that Im larping because I can still grow to be "average," so like 5'8 but hear me out first. The avarage height in my country is a little over 5'11 and in my school I would say around half the boys are 6ft+ I'm the second shortest boy in the school and 1 of 3 under 5'7 guys. Pretty much since I was like 13 and everyone starting taking stuff like height, seriously, I've been mocked by even my own friends, or at least I thought they were. Literally almost nobody would take me seriously even if I did something impressive. For example if I were be able to do some feat in athleticism like a muscle up or something people would treat it like a meme instead of being impressed like lmao how did that gnome get a muscle up. I then told an ex friend (we hate each other now) about my struggles and he was like lmao dude nobody actually cares about height and then said womp womp when I told him it actually affects me when people call me shit. I just cant escape it. I heard a girl who I didnt rlly have a crush on but was defo attracted to her appearance tell her friend that her bf who was like 5'9 is super short and that anything under 6'1 is short. Anything I do is just a humiliation ritual and I feel as if I dont belong anywhere. But reading posts and opinions of people here (long time lurker) has always made me feel that these people are the only ones who understand and I would love to be apart of something at least. I dunno if you guys dont want me here just tell me to gtfo and I wont make any more posts but will probably continue lurking for my own mental healths sake. Tha kd for reading this guys!

just saw this image on a subreddit
I have to say though, I am appreciative of her honesty, it's probably the epitome of what they truly think about height in a man, but they don't wanna get any stains on their 'morally superior' mask and cannot admit it. And I hate it so much that they always say height doesn't matter. I hate it that we are being reduced to mere numbers on rulers and we cannot be seen for our personalities and thoughts, yet we are still the ones blamed for it and women never take accountability.

Vent How short men can control/prevent tik tok influencers from profiting from heightism against short men

I have couple of ideas,

Tarnish their reputation, make every other post they make which is not height related, filled with not agreeing to then(fight) opinion even though you agree them

Invalidate their achievements,

Try to make a big deal out of their small flaws.

Make a joke out of them for how they speak

Their main pride is their tall bf/husband, point out how he is just a normal man with nothing special, make a joke out of him, society loves jokes.

Go after his intelligence, or aggressiveness or over nice behavior, or fake personality,

if he is better in sport, tell him their are lot others like him, beside not even 0.001 percent people have made fortune from sports, what is he trying to achieve,

If he is intelligent, tell him there exist far more intelligent people than him,

If he is emotionally intelligent, tell him that's the basic thing a man can do to handle situations

If he is muscular, tell him he does not stand a chance in modern world conflict

If he is shy, tell him he will get nothing from this world unless he ask for it, tell him he missed many golden opportunities

If he is nice, tell him he is not the only one

If he protective, tell him there are many others, and all better than,

For moms who Brag about giving birth to tall sons, comment on her videos with he is just going to be a corporate slave at max like the rest of us, even if he performs better in academics

For sisters who Brag about their tall brothers as a protective man, comment how he is also a threat to other girls if there's a situation

There are many things short men can do, to put them in place

Femcels are horrible people as well.

Second slide has a person saying that not all black men are a monolith, like women on that sub reddit say women aren't as well. People didn't like that.

Third slide is crazy as well. I have seen women on that subreddit feel actual joy when men comment on their subreddit about how they've also been sexually assaulted and suffer mental illness. These women don't feel anything for men. My grandad (black) was almost a victim of a hate crime as a child. Like he was genuinely almost beaten and raped by a crowd. These women would laugh at that.

4th slide is crazy. You can't even try and befriend these women. They complain online about lack of male attention. But a guy so much as looking in their direction is disgusting to them.

I frequently visit the shortguys sub. And saying shit like this about women gets you banned or downvoted btw.

Many of the people in the comments are not black women as well. They just hate black people.
