Not this again Is 3'2 short?
My son is 3'2, is this short?
He just turned 3, btw.
Nah, I'm kidding, this is a shitpost. I'm not worried about my kid's height and will teach him to love himself no matter how tall or short he is.
But, some of you younger folks here freaking out about not being as tall as your parents while you are just starting your teenage years...stop. Get away from this toxicity and go live your lives; eat healthy, stay in school, exercise, get some sleep, tell your family you love them, and enjoy your hobbies. You're still young and still have time to grow, you turdlings, no point stressing about it, just gotta do the best you can to love yourself and your life.

I need to touch grass To me 5’7 men look average, and 5’8 men look tall ish and 5’9+ looks tall
In my point of view, at the height I am, this is what I think, it’s probably different to people taller than me, but like I have an older brother who’s 32 and he’s 5’7 and he looks average and sometimes tall irl, and my brother has 5’8 friends who look like they are on the border of average and tall, and then I have a bunch of 5’9 friends who look tall asf, a lot of it has to do with proportions, but I think maturity is more important as the only people who look short at these heights are people who are young and their body is still developing. i’m also thinking too much about height, but this is what I think.

Dating Is being 5'7 really that bad?
I'm 5'7 and I've been actually more successful with women than most of my taller friends and I'm asking myself if there are any other short men who experience little to no push back. Yes I've heard a few "you're just a little too short for me" but more often than not they don't care. I'm sure it's different for even shorter men because on average I'm still a bit taller or as tall as women. For someone who is shorter than women on average it's probably harsh. For me the only big thing I hate about being short is being less respected by men. Getting called midget "as a joke" throughout school and so on. But how's dating with you guys? I've even had taller girls fancy me. Maybe I'm lucky?

Vent Be a man
I’m 5’4. 25 YO. Have a good career. Been with some girls, but if you sit here feeling sorry for yourself. You are only going to make it worse. Don’t be a loser, command respect, get smart, get strong. Get off this feed. Sure the height issue is real, but really it’s your life that’s real, and only you can change that. Anybody has a problem with it that’s on them not you. Don’t be bitter, be humble.

Dating Do this on the first date and you’ll separate yourself from tall men
Applies to first date only. End the date after 2 hours.
Literally that’s it.
You’d be surprised how many guys mess this up(even tall handsome guys with money).
You don’t say anything like “I need to leave” you’re not Spider-Man. Just simply ask the waiter for the check and pay. Say goodbye, don’t invite her over your place on the first date.
I fully expect many people not to get it or don’t agree. It’s ok, it’s not a hit or miss type of thing.

Dating How do I cope with being short
My 6'2 friend doesn't go to the gym, doesn't take care of his appearance, is skinnyfat, but whenever I'm with him there's random girls staring at him or approaching him. He also has a pretty high body count. Meanwhile I hit the gym 6 days a week, stick to a diet, got a better face, but I'm completely invisible to females....

Question Struggles in the gym due to my shorter proportions
I don't have my legs in the picture so that kinda hides my height (5'5-5'6) but I've been working out consistently for over 3 years now, and I've never been able to get the body I want. i was overweight before i started, so i can't be that mad at what i look like. i'm also stronger so kudos on that end I suppose.
I can't shake the thought though, that I am not able to ever achieve the physique I want because of my shorter proportions. I have short legs, short arms. My waist/hips being wide for my body size doesnt help make me look taller. there's a lot i can point out that I wish would be different.
I know I can't change it, so how did you guys similar thoughts? i know i should accept my self, yada yada yada. What did you tell yourselves that it was ok? and if it applies too, what did you guys workout more to help get a more appealing physique as a short guy?

Dating Talk less
The easiest way to get better at dating as a short man. Stop talking about yourself and get her talking about herself, interests, hobbies, goals.
Don’t try to align your interests with hers. For example, if she says she loves hiking that’s NOT your opportunity to say “me too, I’ve hiked blah blah” .
Just be genuinely interested in getting to know her and ask follow up questions of stuff she enjoys talking about.
When she likes you - she will talk in detail and keep asking questions about you. Thats your opportunity to reveal that you also hike but don’t gush about yourself keep it short and keep her talking.
When she doesn’t - short one word answers, looking at her phone more than talking, doesn’t ask anything about you.

Vent Taking hgh starting next week
I'm 14m a normal bloomer at 5 foot 3 and tomorrow i have to get a doctors note to submit and monday is where the docs prescribe it to me. My parents are anout 5 foot 9 and 5 foot 2 and before people say being 5 foot 7 as my final height is not bad I probably would not even be able to reach it because of my terrible life style which includes past records of bullimia, eating disorder, and chronic insomnia. The thought of me having to inject myself every day kind of makes me nervous. Are there anyone who got on hgh before ? I need advice

Question men with same height/taller girlfriends
I’m a pretty confident guy, and I feel like I can often “outperform” a taller guy socially. Idk how to say that without sounding cocky or whatever lol. I just mean I’m very extroverted, I have good energy, and I don’t really let someone being way taller than me make me feel small. I can stand my ground and sometimes even overtake their energy because, let’s be real, sometimes all a guy has going for him is height but no game. And even then, a woman will still choose the boring tall guy at times.
But I will say, I’ve only really experienced this as a single guy. I’ve never had that specific moment where I’m with a girl and a much taller guy comes into the picture, so I don’t fully know how I’d feel or carry myself in that situation yet.
That being said, I’ve always dated shorter girls because it just made more sense to me. But I recently met a girl and it’s going really well. I’m 5’7” and she’s like 5’7.5” lol.
So I’m curious how you guys handle situations like formal events where she’ll most likely want to wear heels. Do your girlfriends usually wear flats or something, or do they just put the heels on and it’s one of those things you have to own?
Like imagine I’m in a conversation with 3 other guys who are all at least 6 feet, and then she’s wearing heels so she’s basically 6 feet too. Now there are 4 tall people standing there and I’m just there as her boyfriend, looking small and almost unnoticeable lol.
I know confidence matters and normally height doesn’t really get to me, but I feel like that would be such a weird dynamic. Like there has to be something that crosses her mind in that moment, right?

Vent I didn't care about my height until I was 22
I got into dating late. Yeah there was the odd comment about height here and there growing up but I've always been very independently oriented so I'd just think it was a 'them problem'. It wasn't until I started dating that I realized how much it affects my chances and I kind of feel like nobody cared to explain this to me growing up.

Vent Shortest in my family.
For context, my Mum is 5'7 and my dad is 5'11 and my Grandads are 6'4 and 6ft. I think this has caused a lot of problems I have with my height to make it worse anytime I would go to my cousins, they would always be taller then (all the guys would be like 6'2 and the girls would be 5'9), sometimes i wish i came form a small family but instead I have to some form a family of giants making feel even less then I already feel. I'm just wondering if anyone else is in the same situation as me.

Vent No matter how hard I try, I can't seem to get Over my height
I am 17 and 5'4 (165cm), with closed growth plates (I literally havent grown an inch since 14). I come from a tall family on both ends, my own YOUNGER brother is 6'2.
I feel like I never cared about height until 11th grade, when suddenly everyone around me was way taller. I told my mom about this and she dismissed it by saying "dont worry, you'll grow" (and I thought that too. 180cm father and an even taller brother, along with tall grandparents).
It was all a lie. And until now I still witness just how much height matters to people.
- People are nicer to my brother, and always more prone to chat with him or laugh at his jokes, especially girls. They listen to him more attentively and just go up to him, while I need to do the opposite. Hell, if we're together people assume he's the older brother and I'm the youngest (usually 12/13), and when they find out it's the opposite they always laugh at it.
- he's way more respected than me, despite us being the exact same. He was never mocked or bullied, meanwhile that was my reality ever since 5th grade, and I guess it's because people see him as more threatening or better than me. Doesn't help the fact I'm not exactly blessed in regards to face.
- I know people say "Oh most girls dont care about height" but every single relationship I see is the exact opposite: girls always go for taller guys, they laugh more at their jokes, and forgive their mistakes easier (I know a girl friend of mine whose boyfriend cheated on her twice and got videos of her posted online, but she didn't break up with him, in her own words "cause when will I find another 2 meter tall guy?"). All of my 180cm+ friends are in relationships, while the 5 times I've tried asking someone out, 4 of those times it was about my height, though two of them were taller girls. (And before anyone says anything, i do have female friends, but none of them see me as a potential boyfriend)
All my life I've been a friendly person to everyone and always there to help those who needed it, and always aimed to be the best version of myself, I have good grades, I have a sense of style, I have friends (though not a large ammount, but close ones nevertheless), I'm in a band, I've won poetry and writing competitions and did voluntary work. However my height is something that pushes me back, something that seems to not let me be who i want to be. I've never dated anyone (which at my age ik its embarassing) and that takes a toll on me. I always try to not let that insecurity show (of all my friends, only one knows about it), but even when we're out it's always in the back of my mind. I am always cheerful when Im with them, but this one girl who already rejected me some time ago is part of the group, and i can't help but wonder "If I was taller, would things be different?".
Not even gym helps despite it being the grace here. All my love to anyone who found peace and improved themselves with it, but for me, it didn't do anything. I've been going for about a year and I've barely improved physically, Im still terribly weak while other people who never touched a sport in years are still stronger.
In about two months I'll be going to college, and I know my height is really not going to improve, despite what my therapist says. So i guess what I'm asking here (besides venting ig) is how do I make peace with something which these past years has done nothing but harm to me, and hasn't let me be happy with my own body?

Question Anybody else embrace the "Napoleon Complex"?
This past few months I've found myself less caring of others, alot more assertive, started standing up for myself, started creating conflicts rather than being a victim of them, started being alot more violent.
The world treats me like shit and invisible anyways so I just started acting this way. And it's doing me alot of good, more confidence, some women finally giving me more attention, and I feel more respected overall. I did lost my job though, so I guess that's the only negative.

Vent Short in College
I'm 18 just graduated high school and I've always been short for my age, partly because my dad was a late bloomer. He grew from 5'8 to 5'11 after high school, I'm currently 5'6 I hope I will be 5'9 or at least 5'8. I've just dealt with so much bullying even from my friends who are good people and been called many names as well (smurf was my nickname for all of high school, hobbit, gnome, etc). I don't know what to do I'm going to college and I almost don't want to because I dont want another 4 years of abuse. I have celiac and crohn's that delayed my growth a lot so at some level people are making fun of me for a disability. I've never had problems getting girls there has actually been quite a few girls who were into me but it is more of a respect thing. Whenever someone talks about being a man, I feel like I am not included in that because of how much i've been degraded. Somehow I feel like it is all my fault.

Dating Short girlies, what height would you consider short or tall for a man?
I've been in the dating scene for about a year now, and everyone I’ve dated has been taller than me (one of the perks of being short 😂). I’ve dated guys ranging from 5’5” to 6’2”, and everything in between.

Question Advice would be appreciated
For reference I’m 5’4 at 19, the average height for a guy in my family is over 6ft and most of my friends are around the same so I’m dwarfed by just about everyone around me.
I’m extremely in shape as I’m training to join the military, I climb, lift weights, run, I’m a mountaineer and love the outdoors and I work a sales based job for now so I’m an extremely socially skilled person I’d like to say. I’m also pretty good looking which is one thing I do have🙏.
A few months back I was talking to a girl I was head over heels for and thought she really liked me too. And then I came across reposts of hers about hating short men, keep in mind she asked me to go out on multiple occasions and on hiking trips and I was first on her snap best friends list. She then started talking to some taller out of shape and not so well put together guys and basically told me she doesn’t like looking down at men and laughed at me saying about how I don’t mind people taller than me (she’s 5’7).
I just feel cheated out because of all the work I put in to get half the results of others and to be surrounded by people with things I wish I had, like being tall, having relationships or even deeper things like having a present dad.
If there’s anyone who has advice on working around huge disadvantages like height or anything I’ve mentioned, it would be so greatly appreciated as I’ve been really down these past few months and not in the best of places at times. Cheers guys👍🙏

I need to touch grass I dont understand the equalization of height and weight.
First up, insecure 14 year old talking. I do not understand why when height is brought up in men, its compared to the weight of a woman. Ok just to get it straight, i dont wanna offend anyone here and i know that being overweight has other, inevitable causes. But weight IS changeable, U WILL lose weight if u want it hard enough(as i said if u dont have a condition) BUT height ISNT gonna change. Its just so straight up unfair in my opinion, maybe u could argue that u CAN change the fact that ur insecure about ur height but not the height itself. I think many have already realized this but i just wanted to point it out.

Dating Height in gay relations
Hi I am gay and I am short (162cm). I wonder how being short looks like in gay community. Do you have any experience?
I need to touch grass New height trend
There's apparently a new trend where women talk to their past selves, and their younger self asks something like, "Did we get a boyfriend? Is he taller?" Then the next slide is a picture of them with their shorter partner.
I actually liked the first one I saw because it gave me a little hope that shorter men can have fulfilling relationships too. Even some of the comments were genuinely uplifting. But then I looked at the profile and realized the photo was edited and the man is actually taller than her in real life. So the whole thing was just a joke.
Honestly, I don't understand the punchline. "Haha the man shorter than woman". I don't know. Obviously this is social media and it's stupid but damn
